November Empties | 2019

Hey everyone! Let's check out all my empties for the month of November!
Face
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil (20 ml) - I put this under the face category but there are honestly so many uses for tea tree oil. I do have a blog post dedicated to it. You can apply them on pimples or put it in your scalp to stop it from being dry and/or itchy. I used this in conjunction with my baby shampoo to clean my makeup brushes which also helps to disinfect them. This bottle lasted me a long time and I suggest you wait for a sale at The Body Shop before you purchase as they have sales quite often.

Bioré Nose + Face Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (14 count) - I went into my local Walmart on Sunday night and it was a zoo. The machines apparently were down the day before, people were all down the aisles and they were out of stock of other items I wanted to carry. This was the only type of pore strip that was in stock as everything else was out of stock. You get 7 nose strips and 7 face strips. They changed up the packaging and I used to buy this before in the past.

Fourth Ray Mellow Milk Mist (122.75 ml) - I purchased this from the Colourpop website and wanted to try out the heavily promoted brand. I would have to say that this product is my least favourite out of the 4 that I ordered. The writing is coming off on the bottle, the sprayer kept getting jammed which I managed to fix a few times, the droplets went on my face and there was a milky substance on my face that I had to pat with a beauty blender. I didn’t care for the product at all and would never recommend or repurchase it.
Bath & Body Works
Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Coconut Pumpkin Latte (259 ml x 2) - I can’t find this on the website anymore but I did pick it up this year. It has notes of: coconut cream, whipped pumpkin and warm praline. This is a great fall scent and I love the packaging!
Body
LUSH Outback Mate Soap - I went to a LUSH event where you were able to create your own bath bomb. It was a fun experience and I browsed the store after and decided to pick this up. It includes: eucalyptus oil, lemongrass oil and peppermint oil. The vibrant blue colour stood out to me which I thought was very fun.

Hair
L’Oréal Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum Leave-In (100 ml) - Honestly, this was just alright. I would apply a generous amount and it would only cut down the frizz. My hair is very frizzy and this just helped to reduce the frizz. I don’t know if I would purchase it again and towards the bottom of the bottle when the product got low, it stopped pumping out. I had to unscrew it to get the product out which was annoying.

Miscellaneous
Johnson’s Calming Shampoo (600 ml) - I honestly prefer the purple formula and I really like the new packaging with the pump. The old packaging didn’t come with a pump and often got super messy to use. You get way more product inside the new bottle and it lasts a long time! I use this to clean my makeup brushes mainly.

Vitamins/Supplements
Equate Time Released B12 1,200 mcg (180 tablets) - This bottle lasted me about 6 months and it is only $13 at Walmart. This is the best bang for your buck and I noticed having more energy throughout the day. I will continue to repurchase these in the value size container.
Promo/Samples - Face
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Fluid Lotion (3 ml) - This claims to be an ultra-light formula which I agree with and I appreciate the fact that there is no white cast. It layers well under makeup and people often forget to wear sunscreen in the colder months but it is so important to! This is more of a watery consistency which I don’t mind and it is great for every day wear.

Body
Ouai Melrose Place Eau De Parfum (1.5 ml) - I got this as a sample with my Sephora order and I tried to like it. The notes include: bergamot, lychee, cedar-wood and white musk. This is a floral perfume and I try to give them a chance even though they are not my go-to. I just got tired of the scent and I know scents are personal which end up smelling different on each person depending on their body chemistry. It also doesn’t have much lasting power once applied on the skin.
Drinks/Supplements
Bad Dad Tea (2 g) - I was at a convention and came across this booth which I wanted to quickly write about. The branding and marketing was so good which I verbally told them. It made me stop and the graphics are truly eye-catching. Not to mention that the black tea I tried was very good! Each sachet comes inside a different graphic which is so fun! Even on the string of the tea bag has the Bad Dad Logo at the end which is such a clever touch.

Quick Strip Fast Acting Melatonin (10 strips) - This has a mint flavour when you put it in your mouth but what I didn’t like is that there is a weird almost metallic taste once it goes under your tongue. 1 strip has 5 mg of melatonin and there is 1 calorie per strip. There is no sugar, it claims to be fast acting which I find to be debatable and this is meant to be used as a sleep aid. I am not totally convinced and I wouldn’t purchase these on my own.

Quick Strip Fast Acting Vitamin B12 (5 strips) - These were decent and I also got these for free at an event. 1 strip equals 1,000 mcg of B12 and it is cherry flavoured. It also left a weird metallic mouth until it dissolved under the skin. I wouldn’t purchase these on my own.

Well Told Health Energy Vegan Capsules - I got these at an event for free as they were handing them out. These are vegan and use organic ingredients. You are supposed to take 2 capsules once a day and I did not get the jitters from this product. I felt that it worked just alright and I would not pay $30 for a full size bottle of it. There are more affordable products on the market.

Until next time,

November Empties | 2018

Hey everyone! I waited a little bit longer to write this post because I was so close to finishing several products! Here is everything that I used up in the month of November!

 Face
Vasanti Brighten Up! New Skin Amplifying Moisturizer (18 ml) - I really like this moisturizer as it absorbs into my skin quickly and is great to use in the morning. My skin feels soft and it layers well under makeup. This is a Canadian brand and I have a whole detailed review on this product that you can check out!

Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips with Citrus Crush Scent in Pink Lemonade (8 count) - I have used these in the past and originally purchased these at an Ulta in Michigan because they weren’t selling these in Canada. I really like these and even though they are a limited edition design, I hope they consider making these permanent! They are fun to use and they do have a citrus scent to them! They work just as well as the original pore strips that we all know and love!

Sheet Masks
May Island Bee Venom Sheet Mask (25 ml) - The actual mask itself is made out of 100% cotton. The mask was too big for my face but that is always something that I can look past if the product is phenomenal. This claims to help with the skin’s elasticity and that it is moisturizing. I was intrigued by this facial mask and it is imported from Korea. I felt as though it was mediocre and I won’t purchasing it again in the future.

Nature Republic Royal Jelly Sheet Mask (23 ml) - This sheet mask has a weird smell to it and it fits very large on my face to a point where it wouldn’t stay on my chin. It is meant for nourishing the skin and it claims to help reduce wrinkles. It didn’t do anything out of the ordinary to my skin and I wouldn’t repurchase it. This is an affordable sheet mask and it is made in Korea.

Miss Spa Coconut Facial Sheet Mask (25 g) - The formula is a cream which I typically do not like but this one wasn’t bad. What I didn’t like it that there was a lot of white cream residue on my face when I took the sheet mask off and you may need to wipe some off. My face felt sticky after wards. This particular mask claims to help hydrate the skin. It is free from: fragrance, parabens and sulfates.

Hair
Unwinded by Hask Shine & Nourish Deep Conditioner in Sauvignon Blanc (50 g) - This hair mask is infused with: wine, apple and watermelon extracts. It smells great, made my hair soft and one packet lasted me for several uses. I put mine into my hair at night and washed it out the next morning. I purchased mine at Ulta and would definitely try another from this line! I do have an entire dedicated review on this product that you can check out!

Garnier Whole Blends Avocado Oil Shea Butter Nourishing Conditioner (370 ml) - This conditioner lasted me a long time and I felt as though it really did the job! My hair felt smooth to the touch and it smelled great in the shower! I went through the shampoo awhile ago and you can check out my dedicated review on this great conditioner!

Bath & Body Works
Frosted Cranberry Car Fragrance Refill (6 ml) - This is a great scent to put into your car to get you in that holiday spirit! I am really enjoying it so far and I put it in my holiday scent portable holder!

Body
Korres Shower Gel in Mint Tea (400 ml) - I purchased this from the TSC Warehouse Sale Haul for only $5. I can’t find this particular scent to link for you anywhere but on Amazon. I have a strong feeling that it is discontinued because it isn’t even listed on the Korres site. It smelled fresh and the mint wasn’t too overpowering! I also really enjoyed the formula as it was not drying!

Vitamins
Webber Naturals Vitamin B12 2500 mcg Cyanocobalamin (60 Sublingual Tablets) - You are supposed to take 1 tablet in the morning and you put it under your tongue to dissolve. I’m usually in a rush in the mornings so I let it dissolve a little bit and I end up swallowing the rest. These tablets are in a cherry flavour but overall, these were just mediocre and not my favourite.

Promo/Samples - Face
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (7 ml x 2) - I have gone through one of these in the past that I featured in my November Empties | 2017. I also went to the Chick Advisor Spring Cleaning Event where I received one of these in my bag. I really enjoy using this product and it feels lightweight on the skin. I do like the consistency and I found that it mixes well with my sunscreen on my face.

Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm (0.5 ml) - This eye cream claims to smooth the eye contours and that it decreases puffiness as well as dark circles. Keep in mind that I am using a sample so I will not be able to tell you if I did see any results. It was a good product but it is definitely on the more expensive side. The full size at Sephora retails for $80 and you are getting 15 ml of product which is not a lot.

Body
Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Honeysuckle Vanilla This smelled so good and I like that the formula was not greasy but was very moisturizing. It is on the more expensive size to purchase a 237 ml tub at Sephora but it could very well be worth it! I'm pretty sure that this particular scent has been discontinued.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Unscented This was another free sample that I received from Sephora and if you have sensitive skin or have some type of skin condition, this could be a great option for you! I do have psoriasis and I can get away with using products that have a little bit of fragrance so I would not personally purchase this.

Until next time,

November Empties | 2017

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another round of empties and today I will be sharing all of the products that I used up for the month of November!
Face
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (7 ml x 2) - I purchased this at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale on a whim without knowing anything about it prior to my purchase. Although I do love their eye cream from the same line, the serum was just alright in my opinion. It didn’t do anything groundbreaking and I didn’t see a huge difference in my skin after using it.

The Face Shop - Jeju Volcanic Lava Volcanic Ash Nose Strips (7 count) - I prefer these to the Aloe Nose Strips but that is just my personal preference. These do a great job at removing all my white heads and I do have an entire blog post dedicated to testing 3 different product from The Face Shop.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater (59 ml/2 fl oz) - This is a travel size product that I picked up when I was in the USA and you can check out my entire review on it. I really like the spray on this and it gives such a fine mist. I had been hearing about this for quite some time and I am glad to have been able to say that I have tried it! Now I definitely need to go back to Ulta to replenish my stock and I also want to try-out the cucumber scented one.

M. Asam Vino Gold One Week Power Beauty Treatment I do have an entire review on this and I have to say that I was definitely impressed! It left my skin soft, smooth and helped make my skin more radiant. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this treatment again in the future!

Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap (30 ml) - I purchased this from the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale and I also featured it in my Disappointing Products | Part 4 video. This cleanser dried out my skin and I really did not like it.
Face Masks
Etude House Blueberry Sheet Mask This specific mask is meant for firming and giving the skin a radiant look. This didn’t smell like blueberries to me and this mask was dripping with essence (literally,) that I had to apply the leftover product to my entire arms. It is rather messy and the sheet is very thin - the thinnest sheet mask that I have ever used. It isn’t too large either which I appreciated because some face masks are just way too big for my face. This is a 0.2mm air sheet mask actually and after 1-2 minutes on my face, it wasn’t going anywhere. This was nice to use but it isn’t a must-have in my opinion.

Etude House Manuka Honey Sheet Mask This definitely didn’t smell like Manuka honey to me but this delivers rich moisturization to the face. Again, this is an air mask and it is very thin. You need to be careful when pulling it apart, not to rip the sheet mask. Overall, this was nice to use but it isn’t amongst my favourites.

Etude House Strawberry Sheet Mask This didn’t smell at all like strawberries to me and this particular mask was literally dripping essence. It made it a little bit harder to apply but once it was on and it felt colder than my other masks for some unknown reason. This claims to brighten and revitalize your skin. Overall, I am not the biggest fan of Etude House sheet masks personally, but by no means are they bad, it comes down to personal preference.

May Island Red Ginseng Face Mask This sheet mask I found to be: thicker, smaller on the face and more fragranced overall. This didn’t have a bad scent to it and I found it to be rather unique. The red ginseng is for moisturizing purposes and helps with the elasticity of the skin. They use fresh red ginseng extract in the formula and this mask is made in Korea. It was very comfortable to wear and I originally bought it because the main ingredient seemed rather unique to me. My face drank up this sheet mask and my face looked great afterwards!

Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet I have seen Tony Moly face masks everywhere and have always been intrigued to try them out. I finally have and I want to say that the moment I pulled mine out of the packaging, I knew they were going to be amongst my favourites. The sheet mask isn’t too big and isn’t too small - it is just the right size. It isn’t too thin or too thick. It wasn’t dripping essence as I pulled it out but it was saturated enough that I couldn’t still apply some essence to my chest as well as my neck. It smelled very nice but wasn’t too fragranced. This particular sheet mask is meant for nourishing the skin and my face drank up this up! I left mine on for 20 minutes and I absolutely loved it! My face felt more firm after just 1 use. I can’t wait to try the other ones that I currently have in my drawer!

GLAMGLOW POWERMUD DUALCLEANSE TREATMENT (50 g) - This wasn’t my favourite GLAMGLOW mask that I have used but it wasn’t bad either. I much prefer the FLASHMUD mask as that one is for brightening the skin and I do have an entire comparison post on these two masks. This is a mud to oil mask and it helps to detox your face. It also exfoliates your face too which is awesome. My skin felt soft and refreshed after using it. I did purchase mine at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale for $30 CAD.
Hands
Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme (40 ml) - This is another product that I purchased from the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale. This was in the $4 bin and I go through hand cream quite regularly therefore, I couldn’t pass up on this great deal. Overall, this made my hands very soft and didn’t irritate my psoriasis. There is a light scent to it and the cream is rather thick. It doesn’t absorb into your skin right away and I suggest using it before bed. It is also great for putting in your purse.

Bath & Body Works
Gentle Foaming Hand Soap with Coconut Oil in Birchwood & Juniper (259 ml) - This scent is described as: ‘a woodsy blend of birchwood, juniper berries and pink pepper.’ This is a musky, woodsy scent in my option and I absolutely love it! It is definitely unisex and the coconut oil helps condition the hands especially in the upcoming colder months!

Vanilla Coconut Gentle Foaming Hand Soap with Coconut Oil (259 ml) - This really had the perfect amount of both vanilla as well as coconut. The description reads: ‘whipped vanilla, peach blossom and warm coconut.’ This was a great soap to have in the bathroom and I like a few other scents from this range!

ScentPortable Car Fragrance Refill in Bergamot I really enjoyed the scent of this as it is more of a musky, warm scent. It is definitely perfect to put in the car during Fall!
Hair
Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil (150 ml) - I actually purchased this awhile ago at a warehouse sale and I believe that they have redesigned the bottle as well as changed some of the ingredients inside. I lost the clear cap a long time ago and his oil is best suited for those with: dry, damaged hair. This claims to: nourish hair and to give it supreme shine. This is a 5 action hair elixir and there are both Brazilnut Oil and Cupuaçu inside the formula. I took this to various places when I went traveling and I did enjoy using it. It helped my hair with shine as well as fly-aways. This is sold at the drugstore and is very affordable.

Miscellaneous
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge This came from a two pack and this is my third sponge that I have gone through. It is definitely more affordable than the beauty blender and I have an entire review on it that you can check out. You can also purchase them at Walmart, Ulta or Rexall if you live in Canada.

Equate Quilted Pads (100 count) - I love to use this on a daily basis and I purchase mine from Walmart. I do have an entire dedicated post comparing these to the Shiseido Facial Cotton.

BIC Soleil Sensitive Skin Razors (4 count) - These are my go-to razors that I have been using for years and they are very affordable as well as disposable. I purchase mine at Walmart and you really can’t go wrong using these.

Promo/Samples - Face
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (7 ml x 3) - I kept getting this as a sample with my Forever 21 purchases and accumulated quite a few of them. I finally decided to put them to good use and I felt like the more product that you used on your face, the more hydrating that it would feel. It was especially nice to use it during night time. There is hyaluronic acid inside and I do like the consistency of this product. It is also oil-free and non-comedogenic.

Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer (10 ml) - This has echinacea greenenvy honey, triple hyaluronic acid complex and cupuaçu butter beads which are supposed to keep the skin smooth as well as soft for the entire day. It is suited for all skin types included sensitive ones and it claims to: hydrate to eliminate dryness, help with an uneven skin tone and also help will dullness as well as an uneven texture. The beads just melt into the skin and you do not have to pick them off. There is a unique scent to it but it isn’t highly fragranced at all. This didn’t do anything out of the ordinary for my skin and I tended to use it at night with my face oil. It isn’t amongst my favourite but I didn’t dislike it. I don’t have: dry, dull or uneven skin so people will these skin issues could benefit way more from this moisturizer! I received this as a sample from my online Sephora order.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer in Neutral (1.5 ml) - I already knew that this shade was going to be too dark for my complexion right now, but I still wanted to try-out the formula. I was very impressed and when I applied some product underneath my eye area using my fingers, it blended out effortlessly as well as seamlessly! I have mentioned that Clinique is hit and miss for me for I would actually like to purchase this product in my correct shade to play with it some more. I received this as a sample with my online purchase from Sephora.
Body
Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum Spray (1.5 ml) - I received this as a free sample in the mail and it is a great everyday scent. It has notes of: wild berries, creamy vanilla and bright jasmine. I wouldn’t rush out to purchase a full size of this scent any time soon, but the bottle is gorgeous!

Hair
Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo (10 ml) - This shampoo smelled great in the shower and made my hair feel very soft. I am definitely impressed with this line!

Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Renewal Deep Conditioner (10 ml) - This came as a sample in the Chatelaine magazine and let me tell you that it smells incredible! It actually lingered in my hair for a few days after applying the mask as it was stronger than my Garnier shampoo that I am currently using. This is suited for extra dry hair and you are supposed to apply this from tips to roots. It says to leave on for 3 minutes but I left it on overnight. I am planning to purchase this once I run out of my other hair conditioners!

Farmona Herbal Care Nettle Shampoo (7 ml) - I received this as a sample at the Polish store that I go to and I love the clean scent of this shampoo. It lathers really well and this is targeted to those who have oily hair. They use: natural plant ingredients, nettle leaves extract and wheat proteins. There are no: parabens, dyes, ethyl alcohol or paraffin oil inside the formula. It’s made in Krakow for those wondering and it is a coconut-based shampoo.

Farmona Herbal Care Horsetail Shampoo (7 ml) - This is targeted to those with very damaged hair. This claims to: strengthen, moisturize, nourish and regenerate hair. The results claim to leave you with: beautiful, strong hair, increased thickness, more volume, increased resistance to damage, less split ends and reduced fragility of the hair. This is a coconut based shampoo and it smells stronger than the other one but I enjoyed using it in the shower!

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper Colour Deepening Shampoo (8.3 ml x 3) - I was sent these in the mail and you get quite a lot of product in the sample pack which was more than enough for my long hair. It does get a little bit messy in the shower so be warned because the shampoo has colour to it. This particular item is supposed to gradually infuses deep rich colour and deepens the hair. It is formulated with cocoa and evening primrose oil. It did have a nice scent to it but I wasn’t too crazy over this product to purchase it ultimately.

October Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! Let's check out my Fall Empties for the month of October!

Face
Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips (8 count) - I love using charcoal products in general on my oily skin. Bioré makes my favourite pore strips and I will continue to repurchase them for years to come.

Body

Ahava Deadsea Water Mineral Body Lotion (100 ml) - This is such a great formula that absorbs quickly and makes your skin so smooth. There is a pleasant scent that isn’t too overwhelming. I originally purchased this from The Bay in a set. Even my friends liked this lotion when I shared it with them!

Equate Women’s Triple Blade Disposable Razors (4 razors) - These are my go-to affordable razors that I purchase at Walmart. The price has gone up slightly but it is still a great deal. They get the job done and I replace mine every month.

Bath & Body Works

Car Fragrance Refill in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (6 ml) - This is such a perfect Fall scent and I always get so many compliments when people come into my car!

Car Fragrance Refill in Leaves (6 ml) - This is one of my favourite fall scents. I always get a ton of compliments when people come in my car and smell it. This is a fall staple for me!

Creamy Luxe Hand Soap in Kitchen Lemon (236 ml) - This is such a great hand soap to have in the kitchen. It includes: vitamin e, Shea extract and aloe in the formula. The notes include: zesty lemon, sparkling citrus and Italian bergamot. This has definitely been a repurchase.

Teeth

Lavish Essentials Bamboo Toothbrush - I got this with my Amazon order when I purchased a charcoal powder toothpaste. It is 100% biodegradable, the bristles are soft and it is BPA free. It also says that you can dispose of this in the compost bin which is awesome!

Tools

beauty blender Original Pink - This is hands down my favourite makeup sponge that I have ever tried. It is soft and not hard on the skin. It blends out your products like a dream and it is worth the money. Only getting rid of it because mine has holes and I have been using it for too long.

Food/Drink

Starbucks Breakfast Blend Medium Roast Whole Bean Arabica Coffee (340 g) - This was a more mild coffee to get my day started with. This is described as balanced, smooth and rich. There are whole beans inside the bag that you need to grind up.

Promo/Samples - Face

Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Serum (50 ml) - This lasted me quite some time and it felt really nice on the skin. The formula was a little thicker and it made my skin very soft. I liked the sleek packaging but with the airless pump, I found that after I pumped out the product, a little bit of the product would come out and either be wasted or leftover on the cap. I did enjoy it though!

Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Hydro Cream (1.2 ml) - I’ve actually gone through an entire jar in the past of this product. It made my skin soft and it is a cream so it’s a thicker consistency. It feels nice on the skin and the first ingredient is water which is always a good sign.

Vichy Normaderm PhytoSolution Double-Action Anti-Acne Lotion (50 ml) - This product lasted me several months of every day use. This didn’t clear up my acne all together but it helped to manage it and the formula is lightweight. This is an oil-free product and I really like that it comes with a pump in a glass bottle.

Garnier Bio Lavandin Anti-Age Day Care (1.5 ml) - I really enjoyed using this sample and it felt great on my skin. It did not irritate my acne and my skin felt soft after using it! This is for all skin types, even sensitive. I would definitely look into getting a full size of this after I work through my current stash.

Amore Pacific Future Response Age Defense Creme (1 ml) - I have been looking online for a link but I’m pretty sure that this has been discontinued. I have used this in the past and I do really like it. This claims to be good for all skin types and it is dermatologist tested. It is on the thicker side and made my skin feel smooth.

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream (2 ml) - I have used this in the past and I truly am a fan of it. It is thicker as it is a cream and it smells just like fresh cut roses. It leaves my skin soft and it really does a great job at moisturizing my skin.

Overall I would say that my box was just okay and there were other samples I wanted to get that were already sold out when I logged in.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY
