Marcelle 3 in 1 Micellar Solution vs Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution

Hey everyone! Micellar water has been popular for a little while and I wanted to see which one out of the two performs better!

Marcelle 3-In-1 Micellar Solution - You can buy this online from the Marcelle website or on Amazon. The full size bottle is 300 ml and it retails for $19.95 but I have the 50 ml travel size. There are many different ways to use micellar water but I actually need to wash my face with an actual cleanser before I go to sleep. I just use this as a toner to remove any remaining makeup on my face that my cleanser didn't already remove. I wouldn't say that this is necessarily a Bioderma dupe and it smells differently to me. This did a decent job at removing the remaining makeup off my face after I cleansed it but it didn't do anything out of the ordinary.

Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution - You can purchase this online at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique, on the Bioderma website or even on Amazon. This was very gentle on my face and removed the remaining makeup easily on the cotton round. My face felt very clean and refreshed after using it. This may replace my current toner that I am using which is Orange Blossom Water.

It costs $18.90 for 250 ml of product or $24.90 for 500 ml. I have the travel size version (100 ml) that I purchased in-store at Shoppers Drug Mart for $4.95. Overall, I much preferred the Bioderma and it definitely outperformed the Marcelle micellar water. I would splurge on the Bioderma because it left my face feeling very clean and the Marcelle one just didn't do it for me. Neither one felt overly greasy or oily on my face, they did not burn my eyes and they were gentle on my skin.

Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser & Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Review

Hey everyone! Today we are going to compare two different cleansers: one by Clinique and another one by Fresh to see which one works better!

Clinique Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser - It is a daily cleanser and a scrub that will give your clearer as well as soft skin. This cleanser can be used on all skin types except for those with sensitive skin. The full size retails for $27 for 4.2 fl oz/125 ml and you can purchase it at Sephora, Clinique (online and/or at a counter,) as well as at Mecca if you live in Australia. It did a great job at removing my makeup but it feels strange to remove my makeup with this cleanser with the tiny exfoliating beads. It will definitely be used as my morning skin cleanser because it worked well on my skin!

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser - This product is for all skin types including sensitive. This comes in two sizes and the travel size costs $20 for 1.7 fl oz/50 ml. The larger size will run you $47 for 5.1 fl oz/150 ml of product. The size shown in the photo was part of the Fresh Skincare Power Players set that is sold on Sephora's website. I have used it in the past and I found it to be gentle on my skin. It is nice to use and did a fairly good job at remover my makeup at night!
Update: The larger size now retails for $49 on the Sephora website.

The verdict is that I like them for different purposes and they both performed well on my skin! I prefer to use the Clinique Pep Start in the morning and the Fresh cleanser at night to help remove all of my makeup.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild) vs Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap

Hey everyone! I was curious about these two cleansers from Clinique and I wanted to see how they compared to one another! Let's see how they were similar, different and which one works best!

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild) - You can purchase it on the Clinique website, at Hudson's Bay or at Ulta if you live in the USA. The full size retails for $26 and you get 200 ml of product. It had a little bit of an odd scent that I can't pinpoint and I didn't really care for this cleanser to be honest with you. It definitely isn't my favourite and it did an alright job at remover my makeup. It is also very messy to use and you get product or cleanser in the cap, it won't be fun to clean up (I'm speaking from experience!)

Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap - This is an oil-free product and this product was actually created for the sonic cleansing brush which I do not own. For 150 ml of product, it retails for $30 and you can purchase it at any of the aforementioned stores. This is a much better product in my opinion than the other cleanser for several reasons. It is a cream based cleanser, it isn't nearly as messy, it removes makeup better than the Liquid Facial Soap and you can really work the product into your skin. It still has an odd scent to it that is different from the other one, but this wins by a landslide. I do have very oily skin (all over my face,) and if you have dry or normal skin, it may be too harsh on your skin type.

If you haven't guessed already, I much prefer the Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap for the stated reasons I mentioned above and it is definitely worth paying a few more dollars for it!

Regular Cotton Pads vs Shiseido Facial Cotton

Hey everyone! I have been using regular cotton pads for a very long time now and have heard amazing things about Shiseido Facial Cotton pads therefore, I did what anyone else would do, I put them both to the test!

Equate Cotton Rounds
- I purchase mine at Walmart
- The single packs that I used to buy, are now sold in packs of 3! A 3-pack with 100 cotton rounds (3 x 100) will cost you $4.87.
- These are quilted and they aren't very large in size compared to the other kind that Wal-Mart sells (also by Equate)
- There aren't any threads of cotton left behind while using it
- The cotton round does absorb a lot of the product

Shiseido Facial Cotton
- Bought mine online at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique
- $11 for 165 cotton sheets
- On the back of the package, they tell you to wrap the cotton pad around your middle finger and then smooth it over your face with your product of choice saturated onto the cotton pad
- The facial cotton does not absorb much product at all
- You can cut each cotton pad in half to maximize your usage and they are large anyway that you can get away with doing that

Which Cotton Pads Win?
Before trying out the Shiseido cotton pads, I had read many reviews of consumers saying that they wouldn't go back to using cheaper priced cotton rounds after using these by Shiseido! I can see why people are saying this because: it feel luxurious on the skin, it doesn't absorb a lot of product, the cotton pads do not break or leave any threads behind, cutting them in half maximizes your usage and that is the perfect size for me to use anyway. I will say that they are both great to use but if you are on a budget, definitely go with the Equate brand but if you want to splurge, purchase the Shiseido brand.

Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover Review

Hey everyone! I really wanted to put this product to the test to see if it would remove my Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation that is both waterproof as well as long wear! I also want to see how well it would remove my liquid lipstick because those can be difficult to remove. Now let's see how it did!

Price, Where To Purchase & Claims
Dermablend Long Wear Makeup Remover retails for $22 and you get 5 fl oz/150 ml of product. This claims to be 'an effective gentle remover of long lasting colour wear makeup.' This is a cream based product and it also claims to 'leave the skin with a luminous, radiant appearance.' You can purchase it on the Dermablend website, Amazon or at Sephora (USA only.)

How It Removed My Makeup
When I began to massage the product into my skin, it reminded me of a cleansing balm in the sense that it was doing a great job at breaking down all of my makeup. It definitely broke down my eye makeup and face makeup the best. However, when I started to rinse off, I realized that there was this greasy film leftover on my face. Not much makeup was coming off my face and I even used more product thinking that would make a difference which it didn't. I ended up giving up and just went in with a makeup wipe to remove the film as well as the makeup that was smeared all over my face. Also, the scent left on my face reminded my exactly of when you use a face wash at a hotel and before you apply moisturizer, you smell the remaining scent left over from your face wash.

Overall Thoughts
I also want to say that I have rough skin on my hands due to having psoriasis on my hands for many years and this product actually got into the cracks of my hands! It was black from the removal of the eye makeup and I had to wash my hands very well to remove off of it. Also, I was very annoyed because there was a film that stained my sink a brownish, black colour and I had to get the bathroom cleaner to get it all out. Doing that at night was not fun and let me just say that in all of years that I have used makeup cleansers, not one product except for this one has stained my sink like that. Next time I use this product, I will use the product on my face to break down my makeup and then I will go in with a makeup wipe to wipe away the residue. I will have to go in with another cleanser after that because I can't go to bed without properly washing my face with cleanser and warm water.

Would I Purchase?
If you're wondering: it was gentle on my skin, it did not break me out and it did not dry out my skin. This seems like extra work right before bed and it isn't very easy to track down this product in Canada after doing some research. I definitely need to use quite a bit of product, and on the back of the tube, it does say to 'place a generous amount on fingertips...' All in all, I definitely would not purchase the full size version and certainly would not recommend this product because it was not convenient nor hassle-free to use. It did not make my skin look more radiant or more luminous just for the record.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Oil & Eye Cream Review

Hey everyone! I picked up these two products when I was at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale | 2017! I put them both to the test and let's see what the results were!

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II: This claims to be for all skin types and this claims to help fight visible signs of aging. This will help you get a more youthful, radiant complexion and is great for people with dryness or uneven texture to their skin. Based on a study that ended last year, this was declared the number one repair serum and that this product was effective for all ethnicities.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II: I am still on the hunt for the best eye cream out there and again, this is formulated for all skin types. This is targeted to those with puffy eyes, dark circles, fine lines and/or wrinkles. The formula is described as 'a rich cream-gel' that uses ChronoluxCB Technology.

Price, Sizes & Where To Buy
The oil comes in 3 different sizes: a 1 oz/30 ml bottle retails for $80, 1.7 oz/50 ml will run you $118 and lastly, 3.9 oz/115 ml that is exclusive for VIB Rouge card holders only, retails for $225 but has a value of $306. The two larger sizes are limited edition and if you haven't already guessed, you can purchase this line at Sephora or at your local Estee Lauder counter. If you're wondering about the eye cream, it comes in only one size and it will cost you $74 for 0.5 oz/15 ml of product.

Would I Purchase A Larger Size?
The oil is not the best smelling product, but your skincare shouldn't really smell good because it's all about how the product itself performs. Even though I purchased a deluxe sample size, I hate that there is no dropped and it is very messy to use. I didn't feel like it did anything to my skin and my skin isn't exactly in repair mode at the moment because I'm still in my 20's. Overall, I much prefer the Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Restorative Radiance Oil (discontinued) that I have been trying out and I wouldn't purchase the full size.

The eye cream definitely had an Estee Lauder scent to it and was a true gel-cream consistency. It glided effortlessly onto my under eyes and I really enjoyed using it! The under eye area was not sticky, it was plump, hydrated and looked luminous! I even had my mom try out this eye cream and she loved it! A little bit goes a long way and if I ever wanted to splurge on an eye cream, this would be the one for me!
