Hey everyone! I have been using regular cotton pads for a very long time now and have heard amazing things about Shiseido Facial Cotton pads therefore, I did what anyone else would do, I put them both to the test!
Equate Cotton Rounds
- I purchase mine at Walmart
- The single packs that I used to buy, are now sold in packs of 3! A 3-pack with 100 cotton rounds (3 x 100) will cost you $4.87.
- These are quilted and they aren't very large in size compared to the other kind that Wal-Mart sells (also by Equate)
- There aren't any threads of cotton left behind while using it
- The cotton round does absorb a lot of the product

Shiseido Facial Cotton
- Bought mine online at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique
- $11 for 165 cotton sheets
- On the back of the package, they tell you to wrap the cotton pad around your middle finger and then smooth it over your face with your product of choice saturated onto the cotton pad
- The facial cotton does not absorb much product at all
- You can cut each cotton pad in half to maximize your usage and they are large anyway that you can get away with doing that
Which Cotton Pads Win?
Before trying out the Shiseido cotton pads, I had read many reviews of consumers saying that they wouldn't go back to using cheaper priced cotton rounds after using these by Shiseido! I can see why people are saying this because: it feel luxurious on the skin, it doesn't absorb a lot of product, the cotton pads do not break or leave any threads behind, cutting them in half maximizes your usage and that is the perfect size for me to use anyway. I will say that they are both great to use but if you are on a budget, definitely go with the Equate brand but if you want to splurge, purchase the Shiseido brand.
