Testing Out 3 Eye Makeup Removers

Hey everyone! I recently opened up my bathroom cupboard and realized how many eye makeup removers that I actually own! I want to compare them and let you know which ones are worth your money!

Smashbox It's A Wrap Waterproof Makeup Remover - 4.2 fl oz/125 ml
This is definitely the most greasy out of the 3 but let me tell you that when I have to remove longwear eye makeup or liquid lipstick, this is what I always grab for! I know the greasy feeling will turn some people off but it didn't bother me because my liquid lipstick basically glided off! I was very impressed but with that being said, I wouldn't use it on a daily basis: only when I have stubborn eye makeup. I can definitely trust this product to remove it completely without tugging or pulling on the skin excessively. Just make sure not to get it in your eyes! This retails for $20 USD and you are getting the most amount of product in this bottle. I managed the snag mine at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale for only $8 CAD.

Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - 3.4 fl oz/100 ml
When I put this to the test, it didn't remove my liquid lipstick very well. It only picked up a little bit of it on the cotton pad and then moved the rest around. It didn't do the greatest job at removing my eye makeup to be honest with you. This is definitely a gentle cleanser as it did not irritate my eye area, but it wasn't nearly as effective as the other two and I would not purchase this again. I found this exact product on the Estee Lauder website for $20 USD.

YSL Top Secrets Eye Makeup Remover Bi-Phase - 3.3 fl oz/100 ml
This is definitely the most expensive out of the 3 coming in at $38 CAD for the least amount of product. However, this is effective and it did the job. You need to make sure that you shake it before you use it because it is a bi-phase remover. When you shake it, it will activate those ingredients and mix them together. I felt like this was a standard eye makeup remover but it didn't necessarily stand out from the rest. Perhaps in the future I'll purchase a larger size but for now, I'm fine with using the travel size bottle.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY

    1. To be honest with you, it was my least favourite out of the 3. I wouldn't use it again to remove longwear makeup or liquid lipstick but if you have light makeup on, give it a go!

  2. The smashbox sounds awesome! I don't mind a little grease. I tend to have dry skin so a little oil is actually nice in a product. Not to mention it sounds very effective!

    1. Definitely check it out! I have very oily skin and will only use it when I have longwear eye makeup on or a stubborn liquid lipstick. It would be better suited for your skin type!
