Chick Advisor Spring Cleaning Event | Haul & Experience

Hey everyone! I went to Chick Advisor's Spring Cleaning Event on Thursday, May 17th in Toronto that ran from 5-7PM. I arrived exactly at 5PM and to my surprise, the line had already grown quite a bit and after I got off the elevator, I had to climb up the stairs to stand in line. The line moved fairly quickly and the whole experience took me about 40 minutes. Most people in line were patient and didn't complain. Once you gave your name and the employee verified that you were on the list, you had 2-3 minutes to go inside their office, get a bag from the back (they were all random,) and you were able to pick out 3 additional items from the boxes. There were employees at each 'station' to help you out or answer any additional questions. Also, I quickly peeked into my bag before choosing my additional 3 items to make sure that I got a good variety of options.

There were plenty of products to choose from in the boxes such as: a topcoat for your nails, Knorr products, Axe for Men, the Maybelline Brow Precise in Blonde and much more! There was also another room which I believe is their meeting room which more makeup and beauty items to choose from. They were also giving out a can of La Croix to everyone waiting in line and they also were distributing straws. I decided to save mine for later and we were told that there were more by the door on the way out. I asked to take a second flavour to try and I decided on the Lime. I had never tried them before but have heard great things about them! Let me know your favourite flavour of La Croix in the comment section!

Overall, this event was pretty organized and although some people complained about the stairs, that you had to climb as the line extended up the stairs; I believe that the staff did the best that they could. I personally think that if they grouped the bags into various categories such as: men's products, food, beauty, and so on, that would have worked out better to target certain people's interests. Also, they did say that they got an overwhelming amount of responses the first time they sent out an email and that's why they had to send a follow-up email letting everyone know that you had to pre-pay for your bag ($10) for them to ensure that they had enough bags for everyone which is understandable. Originally, it was going to be cash only at the door and you needed to have exact change. These bags were only for Chick Advisor members, you couldn't bring a friend, it was only 1 bag per person, each bag was valued at over $100, there were no refunds or exchanges and it was just a grab-and-go event with no food being served. I would attend this event again if they were to have one and next time, I'll be sure to put more money in the parking meter. Also, I'll be sure to arrive earlier than the advertised start time! When I asked an employee what time people started coming, she told me around 4:30 PM and that's when I'll be planning on coming next time if they ever were to have this event again in the future.
