Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment | Review

Hey everyone! I have a dry scalp that can be hard to manage sometimes and wanted to find something to make it more manageable. I came across the Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment that I was intrigued about. I heard great things in general about the line and wanted to share my thoughts about this particular product with my readers!

 Claims, Benefits & Ingredients
The scalp treatment by Briogeo, is made to use on just about any hair type, is formulated with a unique complex of tea tree oil, biotin, panthenol and witch hazel that will help in soothing a dry scalp as well as the itchiness, it will also restore the balance and hydration. It also contains Binchotan charcoal that deep cleanses and draws out any impurities to help the scalp and hair follicle get rid of dead skin as well as any product build-up. It is meant to promote healthy hair growth at the root. There is also a blend of peppermint and spearmint oils that help with the itchiness and are rather cooling on the scalp. Sodium hyaluronate and aloe help to keep the scalp hydrated as well as balanced.

This pH balanced scalp treatment claims to be a 98% naturally derived formula and that it's a 6-free hair care item. It's free from: sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates, artificial colours and DEA. It's also: vegan, gluten-free, cruelty-free and it does not contain any synthetic dyes. The first ingredient on the list is water and it does also contain glycerin. There is citric acid and this is a heads up for anyone out there with an allergy to citrus. It's made in the USA and distributed in New York.

Where To Buy, Price, Size & The Line
I purchased mine at Sephora during the VIB Sale and it retails for $41 online. You are getting 1 oz or 30 ml of product and it dispenses through the dropper. Within the line, there's also: a micro-exfoliating shampoo, a jelly conditioner, a dry shampoo and a scalp massager. There's been a lot of positive reviews about the line and my specific item is an Allure Best of Beauty 2017 award winner.

How To Use & Is It Worth The Money?
You can use it after washing your hair and before styling or, before bedtime as a pre-shampoo scalp treatment. You will want to part your hair into sections and apply 1-2 drops in each area. Then, massage the product into your scalp and don't rinse it out. The dropper is angled for easy application and the formula is a light grey. It smells like peppermint but it doesn't tingle the scalp too much where it would feel uncomfortable. I would use it mainly the day after I had washed my hair and I really massaged it into my scalp. This didn't get rid of my problem all together, but it helped lessen the flakes and it also helped with the itchiness that I sometimes experience. I was using quite a bit and I'm not sure if I would repurchase it because it isn't the most cost effective item on the market and I do have to use several droppers in one application. This is good if you want a temporary solution and it will certainly help with your dry scalp but it won't make the issue permanently disappear.

Until next time,
