October Empties | 2014

Hey everyone! It just feels like the month of October is flying by. Well, at least to me anyway. Below are all the products that I have used up this month. I am sad to say, there were a lot of misses. Be sure to scroll down for my honest thoughts on these products.

Face & Body
Aveeno - Positively Radiant Make-Up Removing Cleanser - This is my go-to cleanser. I have bought this several times and it works wonderfully at removing all my unwanted make-up. I will continue to repurchase it! DON'T EVERY CHANGE THE FORMULA AVEENO! You have done a wonderful job with this particular product.

LUSH - Mask of Magnaminty - Here is my honest opinion about this product. I'll start off by saying that I went into a Lush store and asked for a sample of this product after hearing Nicole Guerriero rave about it on YouTube. I did go back a few weeks later to buy a tub of this face mask. I did like the product initially because I did commit to the larger size version. My issue is that it does not fit in my current lifestyle. I do not have time for this product essentially. I am always on the go and I found myself forgetting about this product quite often. I did wish that I had remembered to use it more often because I do like it. Especially the tingly sensation that it has once it is applied on your face. Would I repurchase it? No only due to my aforementioned comment about my busy lifestyle.

LUSH - Herbalism - I tried this product on a whim and really ended up enjoying it! My only issue is that there was no way that I was going to be able to finish it before the expiration date. I used this product in the shower in the morning and required the tiniest amount of product. I have combination skin and was more on the oily side when I decided to purchase it. This product is suppose to help battle your oils. Do I think that it did a good job? Decently, but when you have oily skin, it is hard to find a true miracle worker product.

Johnson's - Baby Bedtime Wash - Pretty much the only body wash that I use. If you have been following my blog for a while, you can see how many of these body washes that I have gone through in the past.

Samples & Deluxe Samples
Jergens - Ultra Care Extra Dry Skin Moisturizer - I did not care for this product at all. The scent was very 'blah' and the product was not too spectacular. I threw out the coupon that it came with. Need I say more?

Benefit - Stay Don't Stray - I have EXTREMELY oily eyelids. The only pro I can think of is that this little sample did last me a long time. I would NOT purchase this though because it did not last me throughout the work days.

PURE By Gloss - Body Lotion - Nice smell but it was a very standard lotion.

Caesars Shower Gel in Organic Lemongrass and Hibiscus - Created by Truterra - I really enjoyed this shower gel! The scent is very pleasant. However, I am very loyal to my Johnson & Johnson line as far as body washes go.

Make-Up
Revlon - ColorStay Overtime Waterproof Lengthening Mascara (001 Blackest Black) - I HATED this mascara. It was a nightmare to get off and I couldn't even go through the tube in its entirety. I only bought this mascara because it was on sale at Walgreens or Rite Aid.  normally like Revlon mascaras but this was a complete disappointment.

Revlon - Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara (002 Black) - I am sorry to say but I also disliked this mascara. The wand was too thick and my lashes constantly looked clumpy (in a bad way.) Unlike the other one, this one was easy to remove.

Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Foundation (330 True Beige) - Holy grail foundation. I am very glad that this pot has finished because the colour was too dark for me as I have lost a lot of my tan unfortunately.

ELF - Makeup Mist & Set - Another holy grail item.

Chap Ice - Cocoa Butter Lip Balm - I bought this when I was living in LA at Big Lots. It was around the $2.00 mark. It was decent. Nothing special.

Other
Revlon - Precision Lash Adhesive - Awesome lash glue and it is latex free. It is great for people that are allergic to latex.

Bath & Body Works - Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Coconut Lime Verbena - I adore this smell. It is very fresh smelling.

Up & Up - Cotton Rounds (105 Count) - These are by far my favourite cotton rounds. They are Target's brand. I have since repurchased another pack when I went back to The States.

If you like Baby Phat Goddess, you'll love our Sexy Thang - Fragrance Deodorant Body Spray - I bought this as a joke a while ago at KMART. I'm still not sure why I decided to throw it in my empties for this month. Would not repurchase.

Sorry if I sounded like a 'Debbie Downer' this month. I just happened to try out a bunch of products that weren't the greatest for myself. I hope that you had better luck this month!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Fall Favourites (New Purchases)

Hey everyone! I recently went to a few stores to pick up a few new pieces for fall. I also found a few items that I came across haphazardly. Such as the awesome Ninja Turtle mug that I found at Marshalls for $7.99. The moment that I seen it, I had to have it in my life! I tried looking for another one but, I managed to score the last available mug.

How does this overly green mug even relate to fall you may ask?

Well I'll break it down for you: Fall = dropping temperatures and with that, our bodies need extra warmth in any which way we can. I bought this mug to increase my coffee, hot chocolate and soup intake. (Yes, this mug is big enough to drink a can of soup out of!)

During the same trip at Marshalls, I stumbled upon a faux leather backpack that was on clearance for $29.99. Another great find! I had been searching the Internet for one but I was not too fond of the drawstring closure I was seeing repeatedly. This too, was the very last one. For anyone curious, the brand is: Isabelle Handbags. Also, on the tag, it reads that this backpack is comparable to $75.00.

Well... I ended up going back to Marshalls...

Because there was this awesome jersey inspired long sleeved shirt that I was eying but I decided to not go forward and purchase it. I didn't try it on the first time I was in store but it really helped to see a model wearing it and that's when I decided that I had to go back to purchase it. I snagged the last size small and it was the same price at Marshalls as it was on Hautelook. I was really having good luck with this store!

Then, I ended up at Ardene...

I was browsing the store originally to find a silver necklace with spikes, but then I got distracted when I seen some booties underneath the 80% off sign. I tried the black pair on originally, and they fit perfectly. The only downside is that you can NOT wear socks with them. I liked the black pair so much that I also bought them in tan. Originally, each pair of boots would have cost me $39.50, but with the 80% off, it ended up running me only $7.90 per pair. When I received my receipt, I glanced at the bottom and it read, "Your savings: $63.20."

Q: Would I have purchased each pair for full retail value?

A: Probably not.

I did find a similar pair on Hautelook for you if you cannot find them at an Ardene store close to where you live. They are also being offered in black and tan, (the same two colours I purchased them in.)

Last but not least, a few weeks ago, I purchased a fall handbag for every day use. My old one was ruined and I desperately needed a replacement. I ended up purchasing the Tosca Handbag in the colour Burgundy.  I love this bag because it is very durable, stylish and is excellently made.

Well, that just about wraps up my lucky Fall Finds.

Stay warm and until next time,

P.S. This is not a sponsored blog post by any means. All items were purchased with my own money. I happen to genuinely like these companies and have been buying from Hautelook for years now. Some links are affiliate.
