May + June Empties | 2014 (2 Months Worth)

Hey everyone! You probably thought that I had forgotten to do my May Empties? That wasn't the case at all! I just didn't have enough items to show and decided to combine two months worth of empty items. I also decided that instead of showing you the items that I finished and listing them below, it would be more beneficial to my readers to give a 'mini review' about each item.

Makeup
ELF Makeup Mist & Set - My holy grail, enough said!

ELF Eyelid Primer (Sheer) - Works great and is only $2.

GOSH Cover Me Up Makeup Mousse (04 - Champagne) - Did not like at all, would not repurchase. Looked patchy on my skin throughout the day and didn't last while I was at work.

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation (320 Warm Golden) - My go-to foundation. I have several backups already.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder (Translucent + Sample) - A nice light weight powder.

Benefit Watt's Up! Soft Focus Highlighter (Sample) - I prefer powder highlighters (my personal preference,) but this did the job well and this little sample lasted me almost a year.

Cover Girl Lash Perfection Mascara (Black Brown) - I am disappointed that they have discontinued this mascara. This was my second tube and I really enjoyed it!

Bare Minerals Prime Time Foundation Primer (Sample) - It didn't do anything out of the ordinary to my skin.

Make Up Forever HD High Definition Primer (Sample) - I'm indifferent to this sample size product. Need to try it again so that I am able to form a 'real opinion' on it.

Make Up Forever HD High Definition Pressed Powder - It was a silky finish but it was a very small sample. Not bad overall. Would need a larger sample to decide if I want to commit to the full version.

Face
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes (Night Calming) - These are the same wipes that Kim Kardashian uses (read the article.) I didn't know this until I was actually using them. Overall, the wipes were just OK.

GLAMGLOW BrightMud Eye Treatment (Sample) - There was a nice cooling effect on my eyes but you want to make sure that you don't leave it on for too long. I probably wouldn't commit to the full size because it is expensive. C $76.00

L'Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Day/Night Cream - It made my skin very soft but that is all that I personally felt that it did to my skin. This little container didn't last me that long either.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips - The first time that I used them, it didn't take much off. However, what come off my nose the second time was astonishing! Give these a try for sure!

Clean & Clear Advantage Blackhead Clearing Astringent  - I honestly didn't feel like it did anything spectacular to my skin. Skip this product.

Revlon Age Defying Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler (Sample) - I really thought this product made a difference in my skin and I will be using the coupon that came with the sample to buy the larger size in the near future!

L'Oreal Miracle Blur Instant Eye Smoother (Sample) - I enjoyed trying out this product but I will not be purchasing.

Hair
Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Treatment - This bottle lasted me longer than I expected it to and I was getting more compliments on my hair than usual. I would always reference this amazing product!

TRESemme Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment - This product really changed the condition of my hair (it was really dry before,) and I would definitely repurchase!

Body
Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath - Skip this, it wasn't too great. I only purchased because my usual product from this brand wasn't available.

Banana Boat Moisturizing Aloe After Sun Lotion - Holy grail, I have gone through countless bottles of this. It really provides relief for my skin when it gets burned and also prolongs the wear of my tan. A great 2 in 1 product. Very inexpensive.

Victoria's Secret Heavenly Eau de Parfum (Sample) - I really enjoyed this scent but I'm not sure if I would commit to the full size at this time because there are so many other fragrances that I am loving at the moment. Maybe in the future?

Hands
Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Tuscan Vineyard - I really liked this scent and the little beads made it seem that my hands were getting a good clean every single time.

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Lemon Meringue - A bit too sweet smelling for my taste but it was worth the try.

Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel in Black Pearl - I really liked the scent that this little PocketBac offered, but I would much prefer it without the glitter. It would get onto surfaces and items at times which was annoying.

Other/Miscellaneous
Mitchum Power Gel Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant in Shower Fresh - My usual brand of deodorant. It comes out clear, it is a gel and it does exactly what I would want any deodorant to do. I buy this at Target in the twin pack. (Under USD $5.)

Premium Cotton Pads (160 count from Dollarama) - I despised these cotton pads and couldn't wait until I used them up! They are not made well, they will break or fall apart while I am using them in conjunction with my toner.

Country Home Candle in Lavender - Lavender is one of my all time favourite scents. With that being said, I really enjoyed this particular candle.

Country Home Candle in Crystal Clear - This is from the same brand as the aforementioned candle. Shout out to my friend Michael for giving them to me! Also, they have a good burn time for a small candle.

Ashland Candle in Bananas Foster - The scent is very unique and smells amazing! It is the perfect summer fragrance that I plan on stocking up on for those chilly summer nights!

Have a wonderful day!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Sephora Haul | 2014

Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you an order I placed online a few weeks ago at Sephora.

In my April Empties, I used a sample of the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 in St.Mortiz and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to commit to the full size version.

This shade is perfect for me because I have a very yellow undertone to my skin, and it is hard to find many foundations that will do me justice. A few months ago, I found a video on YouTube by ItsMyRayeRaye speaking about my very problem. I started mixing in yellow food colouring to my pink undertone foundations. I had several because I had gotten colour matched before and the person told me that I had a pink undertone. Me taking this person's 'opinion' lead me to take several photos using the pink under tone foundation, and my face looked like a mask in most of them. Especially when the flash was on....

This brings me back to the foundation, I am overjoyed that I have found a foundation right for my skin tone that does not require me to mix in any food colouring. Speaking on my own experience, it never stained my skin, but it left my face brushes stained with the yellow food colouring which made it very hard to get out. It eventually did come out, but it took a while and a lot of persistence was involved.

Tweezerman Unbreakable Mirror (Pink/Red) - SOLD OUT

I thought initially that this was a great mirror to be able to throw into my purse without worried about getting it ruined. However, I have since returned the mirror because I realized that it truly wasn't something that I needed. Most of my makeup compacts come with a mirror anyway. I did appreciate that they packaged it with a protective seal. Tweezerman is a great brand and I really enjoy my items that I have from them.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Elemental Energy Eye Shadow Palette - SOLD OUT

This is honestly a gorgeous palette. The colours swatch beautifully; I enjoy the range of colours, the theme that is presented, the clear top, the textures and how simple it is overall. My only critique is that the size of the palette is a little large and can not be very practical when it comes to traveling. I am just going to store it in my makeup collection as a collector's item.

The Samples:

Sephora included 5 fragrance cards as well as a card telling me that there would be triple the points happening from 4/24 - 5/11. I ended up going to a Sephora to take advantage of this perk and I bought the full size version of Dolce & Gabbana - The One.

Sephora was nice enough to include a fourth sample along with my order in addition to the three samples that you get to choose when you checkout. As you can see in the photo, it was the GLAMGLOW BRIGHTMUD Eye Treatment.

Above are the three products that I chose as my free samples upon check out.
- Make Up Forever HD Pressed Powder
- Make Up Forever HD Microperfecting Primer (Neutral)
- Tom Ford Black Orchid (did not like the smell of the fragrance)

There was a coupon code that I used to get a free deluxe mini. (Sorry, it has since expired.) I adore this perfume and can't get enough of Dolce & Gabbana The One! It is my go to scent when I attend a function or when I go out at night. Also, how cute is the mini version?

Thanks for reading! Have an amazing day!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

P.S. All items that appeared in this blog post were purchased with my own money. None of these products were sent to me. All opinions are honest and my own.

June Favourites

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of this month's favourites with you!

1. I am really into boyfriend jeans. The relaxed, slouchy fit with cut outs and distressing gets me every time. They can do no wrong in my books. I just received my second pair in the mail today.

2. The warmer weather is a great time to play around with new colours and shimmers. Nars Blush in Luster is no exception to this! The Sephora web site describes it as a "sheer golden apricot" colour.

3. The hotter it gets, the more precautions are necessary to take when applying our makeup. We don't want our hard work to go to waste as we gradually (or suddenly) see our makeup come off. I use ELF Studio Makeup Mist & Set before any of my face makeup and then one more after my look is completed to lock it in place. It is my holy grail and I literally have 10 back-ups of this.

4. To use in conjunction with my Nars blush, I use MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle. I have the old packaging and this bad boy has lasted me numerous years. It adds the perfect amount of highlight and sheen to your look.

5. We all strive to have the perfect beach waves during this time of year. Personally for me, when it is hot outside, I don't want to have to bother using hot tools on my hair because the room will get unbearably hot. Instead, I opt for using Organix Quenched Sea Mineral Moisture Shimmering Weightless Moisture Replenisher. I just spray it into my hair, scrunch it with my fingers and I'm out the door! A simple yet efficient product which I will repurchase in the future.

6. I adore statement necklaces, especially when they incorporate bright fun colours into the design. The one shown in the photo above is from Amrita Singh and I purchased it a few months back on Hautelook. I have another necklace from her, and honestly, they are GORGEOUS! I can't say enough good things about them and the quality is impeccable. My only regret is not owning more of her beautiful pieces.

7. The CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara is something that I find myself reaching for on a daily basis. There are two sides to the mascara and two different wands sharing the same formula. One is to lengthen and come with a skinner, longer brush. The second is more so for volume and it comes with a chubbier, thicker brush. Both used together, makes my lashes really stand out.

8. My last favourite that I am featuring this month is a new found one which is the NYX HD Concealer in CW 04 Beige. This shade blends into my current skin tone perfectly and provides awesome coverage. Also, it's really easy to throw into a small purse or clutch when you're going out at night if you may want to retouch throughout the night. (Especially if you're doing a lot of dancing!)

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read my blog post! I really appreciate it.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
