St.Ives Glowing Apricot Sheet Mask & Soothing Oatmeal Sheet Mask | Review

Hey everyone! I have been a fan of the St.Ives Apricot Scrub ever since I was in high school. When I seen these two new sheet masks, you already know that I snatched them up quick so that I could review them on the blog! I initially featured them in my Buffalo Shopping Haul | Spring 2018.

 Overview & Claims
The St.Ives Apricot Glowing Sheet Mask claims to revive skin for a fresh glow and that it is made with 100% natural extracts. It is also paraben free, dermatologist tested and it is made with 100% cotton. They advise you to leave the mask on for 10 minutes but I left mine on for longer as I was busy writing this review for you and time got away from me! The first ingredient is water and the last ingredient is fragrance (which is a good thing!) The St.Ives Soothing Oatmeal Sheet Mask claims to gently soothes and leave skin soft as well as supple. This is targeted towards those who need their skin soothed and someone who wants more of a calming sheet mask.

Where To Buy, Price & Types
I purchased mine at Target for $2.49 each and I realized afterwards that there is also a St.Ives Revitalizing Sheet Mask making this a trio, but I could not find it at the Target that I was at.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Repurchase?
I found that the St.Ives Apricot Glowing Sheet Mask did actually smell like the Apricot Scrub! Be warned: this sheet mask is SOAKED in essence! I advise you to apply it over a sink because it can get messy really fast! The mask overall I believe was cotton and it was just a standard sheet mask that had the eyes fully cut out. It fit my small face well and it did not move around. When I fully removed the mask off my face, there was still a lot of essence left on my face so I massaged what I could into the skin then I just let the rest dry. The St.Ives Soothing Oatmeal Sheet Mask did not smell like oatmeal at all but it was still fragranced. This too was a messy sheet mask with lots of essence dripping over the counter top. I didn't like this one as much as the other but it all comes down to personal preference. To wrap thing up, I would repurchase the Apricot Sheet Mask but I wouldn't buy the Oatmeal sheet mask again.

Unwined by Hask: Sauvignon Blanc Inspired Shine & Nourish Deep Conditioner | Review

Hey everyone! I was originally in an Ulta in Michigan and came across the Unwinded by Hask Sauvignon Blanc Inspired Hair Mask. I had never heard of it before and almost didn't get it. I decided last minute to pick it up and wanted to share my thoughts on it with you!

This
hair mask claims to add shine to the hair and will help to nourish it. It is infused with wine, apple and watermelon extracts that will appear the hair to look lustrous. There are some other great ingredients inside the formula such as resveratrol which is found in the skin of grapes and helps to protect as well as restore hair. Another great ingredient is grape seed oil which is rich in vitamin E and helps smooth cuticles and helps prevent frizz which I definitely have!

I found this to be thicker in texture, it did have a scent and I have long hair but even so, I will get several uses out of just one packet. However, I do not like the packaging because if I'm going to use it multiple times, there is no way to reseal it and it gets really messy. I which it came in a small tub or if it had a resealable ziplock-like top seal.

To use this
hair mask, it says to apply onto wet hair after shampooing your hair and leave on up to 5 minutes. You will want to rinse it thoroughly and use it 1-2 times a week or whenever your hair needs it! It is free of parabens, artificial colours, sulphates, phthalates, gluten and drying alcohol. It is not tested on animals, it is made in the USA and the first ingredient is water.

It was very inexpensive as I paid $3.99 for the hair mask and you get a lot of product inside one pouch (1.8 oz/50 g) which means you get several uses out of it! There are 6 different types of hair masks in general and Unwinded by Hask also has a leave-in-conditioner in: red wine, white wine as well as rosé. This collection is exclusive to Ulta and I am interested in trying out some of the different masks! My hair felt smooth after use and it did help to reduce some of my frizz!

Bobbi Brown | Luxe Liquid Lip High Shine in Camisole | Review

Hey everyone! I have been trying out the Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid High Shine Liquid Lipstick and wanted to share my honest thoughts on this lip product!

I took the
Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Camisole travelling with me and although I like the colour as well as the formula as it is not sticky, it is a messy product. It got on my pants and when you are pulling out the applicator from the tube, some of the product tends to come out from the bottle which can create a mess like I experienced. The applicator tip tends to get stuck when I am pulling it out of the tube which makes me pull it out even harder than I originally intended on doing. Removing the applicator can be rather messy so I would suggest doing so not in your work clothes or the clothes that you end up going out in! Other than that, I like the look of the packaging and the applicator tip itself.

There are 9 shades in total to choose from and you can purchase this on the The Bay website for $43. Each tube contains 6 ml of product and the packaging is not as heavy as it appears. It feels luxurious and sturdy enough that if you were to drop it, it would survive the fall.

Also, I just want to mention that I originally wanted to add another Bobbi Brown product onto this review but I found out that it had been discontinued after I took the photos so I just wanted to clear that up as you see it in the pictures.

I did receive this product from the Chick Advisor Showcase At Home Kit.

May Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! Let's go through all my empties products for the month of May!

Face

GLAMGLOW Waterburst Hydrated Glow Moisturizer (15 ml) - I picked up the smaller size because I wanted to see if I liked it or not. I applied this in the morning and this is a very light product that reminded me of almost a gel consistency. It is a waterless water cream that is great for people with dry skin. It absorbed quickly into my skin and did not feel heavy at all. I would definitely look into purchasing the full size which retails at Sephora for $66 for 50 ml of product.

Bioré The Original Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (14 count) - These are my favourite nose strips and my brother even uses them. They do a great job at removing unwanted gunk and I recommend looking out for them when they go on sale!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II (15 ml) - This is a great eye cream to use and I did go through it pretty quickly. The Sephora link isn’t the exact same name of the eye cream but the eye serum has the name name except that it is a serum. The eye cream online by the brand has a different name but the same packaging and the ingredient lists are slightly different. I did enjoy using it and it made my under eyes very moisturized without drying them out. I originally tried out a sample and liked it so much that I purchased the full size. I have a review on it that you can check out. This is a gel eye cream which has a really light texture.

Bath & Body Works

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Bergamot Waters (259 ml) - I really liked the scent of this hand soap and it reminded me exactly of either the Diesel Green or Red scent. It was on the more masculine side. The notes include: fresh bergamot, pristine blue waters and white cedar wood. This claims to include essential oils in the formula.

Body/Feet

Cake Beauty Be Delectable Coconut & Cream Triple Moisture Body Lotion (60 ml) - I actually really liked using this body lotion! It has a thinner consistency but it still did a great job at moisturizing my skin. It smells just like coconuts and it is also made in Canada. Other ingredients include: Shea butter, coconut oil and aloe vera. It is free from: parabens, phthalates, GMOs, mineral oil, petrolatum and triclosan. I enjoyed using it and would purchase the full size.

Dr. Pedicure Foot Exfoliating Mask (1 pair - 35 ml of liquid) - I purchased this from Amazon a few weeks ago and finally got around to trying it out. I started off by soaking my feet for 10 minutes in warm water like the instructions advised to do. I dried off my feet and then put the booties on. The stickers were not very adhesive and barely stayed on. I just put on a pair of socks over the booties which worked great. It doesn’t smell very goos after you cut off the piece of the boot that holds the liquid. I left in on for 1 hour and it is a weird sensation at first but again, follow the directions on the back of the box. Don’t walk around and stay sitting down. The liquid can be quite cold at first but it only lasts a few seconds. The booties fit women sizes 4-12 and men sizes 4-13 apparently. My feet started peeling on the third day a little bit around the toes and then it started peeling more in other areas as the days went on. It is very satisfying to see a brand new layer of smooth skin underneath.

Hair

Inner Core by Taya Hair Strong Strengthening Mist (60 ml) - This lasted me quite a long time and I would tend to use this product on my wet hair after getting out of the shower. It smelled nice and I fell like my hair did end up getting a little stronger after using it. I purchased this at the TSC Warehouse Sale | 2018.

Vitamins & Supplements

Jamieson Energy Spray B12 in Natural Raspberry (500 mcg - 58 ml) - I got this off Amazon and I wanted to try a form of B12 that wasn’t in pill/capsule form. I really liked using this as it was easy and I just sprayed twice on my tongue each morning. I moved this product into my washroom because it almost got onto the carpet and it is red in colour which would be hard to get out. It lasted me a few months which was longer than expected and I thought that it did a great job! I would definitely repurchase.

Coffee & Tea

Starbucks Caffe Verona Ground Coffee (340 g) - I finally got around to finishing this bag of delicious dark roast coffee and I really enjoyed it! It says that it is roasty sweet and dark cocoa. This is 100% arabica coffee and this bag came ground which is perfect to use in my coffee press. What I like about Starbucks is that they are proud partners in ethical coffee sourcing.

Miscellaneous

Anti-Reflective Lens Cleaner from Loblaws Optical (30 ml) - This was very inexpensive and I just picked it up at the optical centre at my local grocery store. It got the job done and I definitely would repurchase it!

Promo/Samples - Face/Body

Skinician Purifying Day Moisturizer (1.5 ml) - This is recommended for combination, oily and break out prone skin. I used it in the morning and I really enjoyed using it! It wasn’t oily, quickly absorbed into my skin, it didn’t have a noticeable scent and I didn’t break out from it. The first ingredient is water which is always a good sign and it is made in the UK. I got a sample of this in the mail and I would use it again!

LaNeige Water Bank Moisture Cream (2 ml x 2) - I have used this in the past and I really enjoy using it whether it be during the day or at night. It smells great and one packet lasted me about 3 uses. It is definitely a moisturizing cream that absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling greasy. It is pretty lightweight on the skin and I enjoy using this cream! I definitely recommend it and I have enjoyed every single product that I have ever purchased/used from this brand.

Nivea Oil Infused Lotion Cherry Blossom & Jojoba Oil (4 ml) - I have gone through the larger size and really like this lotion! It smells great and it absorbs into the skin quickly. It leaves my body moisturized and I like that the larger size come with a pump. It is affordable and you can purchase it al Walmart.

Teeth

Crest Gum Detoxify Deep Clean Toothpaste (20 ml) - Honestly, I didn’t find anything special about this toothpaste and it worked just like any other toothpaste. It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t super memorable either.

Bio-Oil | Is It Worth The Hype?

Hey everyone! I have been hearing about Bio Oil and how miraculous of a product is for quite some time. I wanted to use it in order to see how it performed. Let's see what I thought of it!

This product is used on: scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin and aging skin.
Their standout ingredient is purcellin oil which helps to reduce the thickness of the formula and helps it to easily absorb into the skin. It also contains: vitamin A, E, calendula oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil and chamomile oil. It advises that you apply twice a day for at least 3 months.

It smells good and it absorbs into the skin quickly without feeling greasy. Most of my scars had already faded over time but since this is a multi-use product, it's good to have on hand. You have to be patient with this product and use it regularly in order to see results is what I've been told by others who have used it.

It's good for people with sensitive skin and it is non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic as well as non-acnegenic. This is the #1 scar and stretch mark product in Canada and 17 other countries. It has won over 200 awards.

The 200 ml bottle retails on the Shoppers Drug Mart website for $30.99 and it is also sold in the 25 ml size, 60 ml and 125 ml.

I did receive this product from the Chick Advisor Showcase At Home Kit.

Nude By Nature | Natural Glow Loose Bronzer, Touch of Glow Highlight Stick & Flawless Brush | Review

Hey everyone! This is my first time trying out some products from Nude By Nature and I wanted to give you my review on 3 of their products.

I travelled with the
Flawless Brush ($24) and the Highlight Stick which I both really enjoyed using! I used the Flawless Brush to set my entire face with powder and I found the bristles to be very soft. I would even use this same brush to apply a powder blush or bronzer onto my skin. I would take the Touch of Glow Highlight Stick in Rose ($28) with a sponge to apply it to the high points of my face and I found that it blended out easily without loosing too much pigment which often occurs especially with cream products.

I really like the shade and the formulation of the stick. They were both on the smaller more compact size so it made travelling with these two items were easy as they did not take up much room at all. Rose isn't a shade that I would have picked up myself but I really do like it and there are 3 shades in total to choose from. You are getting 10 grams of product in the highlighter stick.

The Natural Glow Loose Bronzer in Bondi Bronze ($30) is a loose mineral powder bronzer that claims to be highly pigmented, oil-free and that it adapts naturally to skin tones. It is supposed to give your skin that perfect glow. They use light-reflecting micro particles in the feather-light formula that blends seamlessly into the skin making you look sun-kissed. They use several natural ingredients that you can read about online if you're interested. Since this is a loose powder,  it
can be on the messy side if you aren't careful. Another con is that I could only find one shade when I looked online and it claims that this is a neutral bronze shade this is designed to fit all skin tones. I feel like they should have a variety of shades rather than just one as everyone has a different undertone. You are getting 10 grams of product. The bronzer looked more orange on me and wasn't an ideal shade that I typically like for my bronzers to be. I'll continue to use it but so far, I'm not a fan.

I want to mention that the Flawless Brush online appears to have a rose gold ferrule but in person it doesn't look like that unless the sun is hitting it directly. The writing on the brush showing the brand name and the name of the brush is rubbing off already and I only brought this traveling with me for 15 days. It shouldn't be rubbing off this soon but it is. Other than that, I'm a fan of the brush as the bristles are tightly packed.

Their products are made in Australia using natural ingredients. Their line is: cruelty-free, PETA certified and is Australia's #1 mineral makeup. You can purchase their products from Shoppers Drug Mart as they are exclusive to that drug store. Both makeup products I mentioned are fragrance-free.

In my opinion, they really need to expand their shade range because as far as their foundations go, all the different types they offer only have 10 shades and their concealers only have 8 shades to choose from. Even worse, their BB Cream has only 5 shades. Their blush, highlighter and brow pencil only have 3 shades in total! I would say just based on that, their shade range really needs to be stepped up to cater to more people. They are probably losing potential customers when they see their lacking shade range.

I did receive these items from the Chick Advisor Showcase At Home Kit.

Dr. Belmeur Cica Recovery Serum, Cica Recovery Cream & Panthenol Soothing Gel Cream | Review

Hey everyone! I was lucky enough to receive these products from Dr. Belmeur that they sell at The Face Shop to try-out and I wanted to share my honest thoughts with you!

Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Serum (50 ml) - $55 - This claims to be a silky anti-aging serum that helps strengthen the skin barrier and promotes skin elasticity. This is definitely a silky formula that absorbs quickly into the skin without feeling sticky. There is a slight scent to this product that claims to be 100% natural fragrance and it is formulated without 8 additives. I really like the packaging and that it comes with a pump as it is easy to use. I really enjoy using it and it makes my skin soft and smooth! Make sure to check the bottom of the bottle to check when the serum expires! This used to be be $48 but it has gone up in price.
Update: It now retails for $55.

Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Cream (50 ml) - $55 -
This cream will give your skin the intensive care that it needs by creating a barrier and it will improve damaged skin. There is a slight scent (a soft citrus floral scent,) to this cream and I found it firmer in texture when taking some product out with my fingers. I do like that it comes with a small tool to help get out every last bit of product. Since this cream is thicker in texture, I will only use it in the colder months. This has also gone up in price and it used to be $48.
Update: It now retails for $60.

Dr. Belmeur Panthenol Soothing Gel Cream (80 ml) - $42 - This formula contains 2.5% panthenol which creates a moisture barrier that helps to soothe sensitive skin and locks in hydration. Dr. Belmeur uses plant based ingredients and specifically in this formula he uses: aloe, camomile as well as natto. This product is targeted to those with dry and sensitive skin. There is a slight scent to this product and it absorbs really well into the skin. I like the gel cream consistency and it is perfect to use in conjunction with my Neutrogena sunscreen which is a similar formula. It feels great to use in the morning under makeup and you get quite a bit of product inside the tube! I can't find a working link for this anymore and believe that it is discontinued.

All 3 products are made in Korea and the two that are still available for sale, can be purchased at The Face Shop. I enjoyed using all 3 products and will rotate them into my daily skincare routine once the temperature drops below 10 degrees
Celcius!

NIVEA MicellAIR & NIVEA Intensive Nourishment Non-Greasy Cream | Review

Hey everyone! I was lucky enough to receive these products in the mail a few weeks ago to test out! Let's see what I thought of these Nivea products!

NIVEA Care Intensive Nourishment Non-Greasy Cream
(400 ml) -
This cream is definitely on the thicker side and I would only use it in the colder months. It has the classic Nivea scent to it, the formula is fantastic, it absorbs quickly into the skin, is non-greasy and it is multi-purpose although I have not used it on my face. This retails for $15.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart and this tub will last me throughout Winter!

NIVEA MicellAIR (400 ml) - This claims to be a all-in-1 makeup remover and cleanser for the face, eye area as well as the lips. I personally use this product as a toner and it helps remove all last bits of any remaining makeup that my cleanser didn't take off my skin. It works well as a toner and it does help to break down eye makeup around the eye area. It also claims to have 0% product residue which I agree with and it's great because there is no rinsing required with this micellar water as there is no residue left behind! There is no fragrance and it is dermatologist tested. This bottle will last my a good amount of time and mine is targeted for those with dry and sensitive skin which I don't have. You can find it at Shoppers Drug Mart for $9.49.

These are two great products and my Grandma exclusively uses their face cream that is in the tin!

Makeup Revolution Concealer in C1 | Review

Hey everyone! I originally picked up the Makeup Revolution Concealer in C1 from Ulta and featured it in my Buffalo Shopping Haul | Spring 2018 because I heard that this was a dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. I wanted to see how it performed under my eyes so let's put it to the test!

Overview & Claims
It claims to be a full coverage product that is long lasting and that it is easy to blend. I picked up the shade C1 that happens to be the lightest shade and it says to be for fair skin tones with a neutral undertone. That is what I currently am and this is the first product that I am trying from the Makeup Revolution brand. I do like the packaging as it looks to be more expensive than what it actually costs.

Shades, Size, Price & Where To Buy
There are 12 shades on the Beauty Boutique website and each concealer retails for $9 CAD/$7 USD. You get 0.11 oz/3.4 ml of product in one tube.

How It Performed & Pros and Cons
It doesn't come with a lot of product but it's very affordable and I appreciate that it comes with a pretty big doe foot applicator. It doesn't have the best smell but that's something that I can look past if the product works well on my skin. I imagine that this concealer will last me about 1-2 months if I'm using it constantly which can be a negative for some. The Tarte Shape Tape Concealer offers 30 shades online to choose from which is an exclusive product to Ulta and you get 0.33 oz of product which is triple compared to the Makeup Revolution Concealer. However, the Tarte Concealer is almost 4 times the price as it retails for $27 USD. The shade was a perfect match for me and I found that it layered well. I applied 3 layers and it blended out like a dream. It did not look cakey and it did not feel heavy under my eyes. I still really do like the applicator and this tube is perfect for traveling or throwing in your purse because it doesn't take up too much space!
