Unsponsored Hello Fresh Review - 3 Meals, Six Plates

Hey everyone! I stumbled across a promo code online and decided to try-out some meals Hello Fresh offers. I will let you know about my online ordering experience, my honest review and if I will purchase from them again in the future.

Menu & Ingredients
You are able to choose the meals you like and if you did make a mistake, you are able to modify the changes in your account. My meals were pre-selected for me and when I went in to make changes, the meals were exactly the ones that I would have chosen for myself anyway! The ingredients are listed online and there is a breakdown of: the nutritional information, prep time, cooking difficulty level, allergens, items you need that are not included in your order as well as step-by-step instructions to prepare your meal. I remember seeing online a list that you can notify them if you have any allergies or intolerances to anything in particular.

Box Type, Price & Meals
I chose Pronto for 3 meals enough for 2 people which cost me $79.99 minus the discount on my meal as I used an online promo code for $40 off my first box. There is also the Family Plan ($129.99) and the Veggie Plan ($73.99). I was intrigued to try the menu on the week of December 9th - 15th. My three meals were the: Simple Lamb Ragù, Sesame Soy Steak Bibimbap and the Rosemary-Walnut Crusted Chicken. Even though you chose 3 meals, you do get sent all 4 recipe cards which was great because I love keeping my recipe cards for future use. I enjoyed all of my meals and you can definitely fine tune them to suit your needs. You also learn things along the way which is great because you can apply that to different meals that you may create in the future.

 Delivery & Food Quality
You get to choose your delivery date and method. I just selected the option to leave it at the front door and delivery is free. Someone actually pulled up in a car and rang the doorbell which was nice. It is insulated and it is definitely packed very well. I just took out the meat, vegetables and things that needed to go in the fridge then I left everything else in the bags. The inside is insulated as you can tell from down below and the meat is packed at the very bottom underneath a large frozen pack of ice. The Bibimbap is something that I would have never thought I would cook on my own and it came out great!

Next time, I make it, I would add a fried egg to the dish and perhaps add half the sesame seeds to garnish then add the other half when cooking the meat. The sauce is a bit spicy but I didn't mind because I love spicy food! As for the chicken, it came out very moist but I recommend doing the walnuts separately because 90% of them burned and the parchment paper also burned inside the oven. I added the basil leaves to the lamb the same time as when I added both the roasted red peppers as well as the spinach and I preferred it that way opposed to adding it as a garnish while plating the food.

Overall Thoughts & Would I Order Again?
There is also an app that you can use to browse through recipes, manage your delivery and look up cooking instructions for various meals. This is definitely convenient for busy families and couples who work all the time with little time to be able to cook a home cooked meal. This is more on the expensive side but I would order another meal in the future but not any time soon. Don't forget that this is a subscription service and you need to skip a week before Wednesday at 11:59 EST or you will be charged for the following week. I suggest setting an alarm on your phone or writing it down on your calendar or agenda if you think you may forget just to be on the safe side because it is very easy for that to slip your mind. Also, some people made it seem like there is so much waste but there was actually less than I thought and you can recycle most of the packaging and wrapping.

I do have a Promo Code that will get you $40 off your first box. I used someone else's code on my first box to make my order half price as I paid $39.99 for my entire order which is a great value!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY
