March Empties | 2019

Hey everyone! Spring is in the air and it's time for my March Empties!
Face
Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes (10 count) - These were not my favourite. I found the scent to be weird and the wipes were rather dry. They felt like they could break apart if I were to use too much pressure. I wouldn’t recommend these and I don’t have sensitive skin so I can’t speak on that.

Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips for the Face (8 count) - I have mentioned these in the past and they are currently on clearance everywhere because I have a feeling that these are being discontinued. They are my favourite so it makes me really sad because since they are designed for the face, they are larger so I apply them onto my nose to remove even more of my whiteheads!

M. Asam Aqua Intense Ampoule Beauty Treatment (28 days) - My Mom and I decided to split the ampoules since there are 28 of them. I have used their ampoules in the past and really enjoyed using them. You get the freshest ingredients and they come in a glass container that you have to break to get to the formula. A little goes a long way and I end up applying this onto my face, neck as well as my chest. I really can’t say enough good things about this product!

Sheet Masks
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrogel Mask (30 g) - I have used this mask in the past and really love it! Even Jackie Aina mentions in her video her love for this mask and when she sees it in store, she takes the whole rack with her! There is also a lot of extra essence which is great for another use on your face, neck, chest, arms, etc. This is great especially for adding moisture back into your skin and when I took off my mask, my skin absorbed pretty much all of it! Look out for these when they go on sale and I was even lucky enough to get one in a Christmas gift! I do have an entire dedicated review on both Neutrogena Hydrogel Masks that you can check out!

Origins Flower Fusion Raspberry Sheet Mask (1 count) - This sheet mask retails for $9 and you can feel the quality in the actual mask itself. It fit well on my face, the material is thicker than what I’m used to and it was not overly saturated. The scent doesn’t smell like raspberry to me and it suggests to keep it on for 10 minutes but I left mine on for longer. I honestly feel like it was good to try once but I won’t repurchase it because I really didn’t see results as this mask claims to refresh and revitalize the skin.
Update: It's now $9.50 on the Sephora site.

Laneige Water Pocket Sheet Mask Sleeping Mask (Replenishing) (16 ml) - I started trying out many different products from Laneige and wanted to see how this one compares as I have had great luck with some of their other skincare items. I first applied the Water Bank Essence onto my skin after toning my skin and then I applied this mask. It claims that this is a non-slip, high adhesion mask. It was comfortable to wear and it is also one of the thinnest sheet masks that I have ever worn. This is for all skin types and they use hydro ionized mineral water in the formula. I left on this sheet mask for 20 minutes, pat in the extra serum, used the Water Bank Eye Gel and then spray my face with a facial spray. I do agree that the mask did not move around on my face, that it was comfortable to wear but this isn’t amongst my favourite sheet masks. It is $8 per sheet mask and they do number the different sheet masks so you can tell them apart. I much prefer the Water Sleeping Mask they have that come in a twist off jar as I feel that you get more bang for your buck. I think the sheet mask is now discontinued.
 Bath & Body Works
Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Pumpkin Cupcake (259 ml) - The notes in this scent include: baked pumpkin, vanilla frosting and golden honey. This smells great and was a great Fall/Winter scent.

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Toasted Vanilla Chai (259 ml) - I really liked this scent and this is one that I actually didn’t get sick of even though I finished the bottle completely! There is tea tree oil inside the formula and I really like the packaging! The notes include: whipped vanilla, spun sugar and winter spice.

Hair
Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Scalp Treatment (30 ml) - This was good to use at first but the more I used it, the less effective it became. I felt the need to start using more for it to actually work and then it stopped working altogether on my scalp. You really don’t get that much product in the bottle (30 ml) for $41 and I wouldn’t repurchase it again. You can check out my dedicated review on my blog about this scalp treatment.

The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Shampoo (60 ml) - This is targeted towards dry hair and includes: pracaxi oil, manketti nut oil as well as Community Fair Trade honey. There is no silicones, sulphates, colourants or parabens in this formula. I did travel with this and it did not leak. My only complaint is that it doesn’t lather very well and I no longer can find it on The Body Shop’s website!

Love Beauty & Planet Hope and Repair Coconut Oil & Ylang Ylang 3-in-1 Benefit Oil (118 ml) - This hair oil smelled great, lasted me quite a long time and made my hair feel very soft! I did have to unscrew the top to get the last bit of product out and the sticker was peeling from all the use but those are just 2 minor things. The company has a great message behind it as the packaging they use is made up of recycled bottles. This product has been discontinued. I received this hair oil when I went to the Chick Advisor Spring Cleaning Event.

Teeth
Crest 3D Whitestrips Glamorous White (28 strips & 14 treatments) - These do not have the best reviews online but honestly, they did the job for my teeth. I use whitestrips once a week and usually forget to take them off at the 30 minute mark so they stay on my teeth longer. It claims to remove up to 10 years of stains from coffee, wine and smoking. My teeth are generally pretty white since I use these once a week and I have repurchased from this brand several times in the past.
Promo/Samples - Face
Sothys Biological Skin Peeling The lady who did my facial gave me a few free samples at the end and this one has so far been my favourite! You apply the product onto your face and leave it on for about two minutes. You then want to rub it off in circular motions using your hands and I let the dead skin/leftover product fall into the sink. I then go in and rinse my face. Let me tell you that my skin felt so soft and I loved the result! I am considering purchasing the full size because it was that good!

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Peel-Off Mask (10 g) - This product claims to unclog pores by removing dirt and excess oil. I am an oily faced girl and need all the help that I can get in that department! I liked the scent of it and the mask itself was pink smelling just like grapefruit! The only thing I don’t like about peel-off masks in general is that I feel like there is more product inside the packaging but you never can get it out! Anyway, you want to avoid your hairline, eyebrows and leave it on your face for at least 20 minutes to allow it to fully dry. I do have to say that this mask peeled off easily compared to some other ones that I have tried in the past and finding an edge was pretty easy! My face felt soft and smooth! I did receive this for testing purposes from Chick Advisor.

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Clay Mask (10 g) - This is a single-use pink clay mask that smells like grapefruit that helps to: absorb oil, dirt as well as impurities. The first ingredient is water and I have to say that it was rather messy to apply. If you have long nails, then I would highly recommend that you apply this with a brush. It is expensive for only being able to get one use of it as you can buy a bottle of Freeman’s for example for about the same price. It did work well on my oily skin though but there’s other products on the market that you could stretch your dollar further with. I also received this item from Chick Advisor for testing purposes.

Body
Nivea Care Intensive Nourishment Non-Greasy Cream (400 ml) - I received this for testing purposes from Chick Advisor last year. This cream lasted me throughout the very dry winter season and I used up every last drop. It made my legs feel moisturized and made them look shiny! They slightly changed the look of the packaging but I’m pretty sure that it is still the same product and the amount of mls you are getting is the exact same.
