Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation Review

Hey everyone! I had been really wanting to try the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation for awhile now because it claims that it is: full coverage, long wearing, it is a matte finish, waterproof and that it is oil free. I love a great full coverage foundation that won’t break me out and was excited to test it out!

The Packaging
First off, we need to talk about the obvious: the packaging! It is simply gorgeous and who wouldn’t be proud to display that on their vanity? The gunmetal packaging on the box as well as the bottle looks edgy yet sleek and modern at the same time. I do appreciate that it comes with a pump because not all foundation come with one and that can get pretty messy. It also allows you to use up all of the product inside of the bottle.

Even the packaging inside the box is beautiful!

The Formula
Urban Decay claims that this formula has about three times more pigment than the Naked Skin Liquid Makeup. Applying multiple layers is not necessary because a little bit of this foundation goes a long way! They also claim that the “waterproof formula diffuses light to blur flaws for beautifully perfected skin, while it mattifies and absorbs oil to reduce the appearance of shine.” Another reason that I was drawn to this foundation is because it offers blurring technology which helps me deal with the larger pores around my cheeks, closer to my nose.

Undertones
I chose 3.0 because it is described as ‘light with soft warm undertones.’ I have a very yellow undertone to my skin and I am also in the neutral family which can be hard to find a foundation that matches me perfectly. It does oxidize and I suggest going into your local Sephora to swatch them out in-person. Also, another tip is to wait for the formula to actually dry before making up your mind! I may have to add in a drop of my other yellow-based foundation to this one but it isn’t something that I can’t fix myself.

The foundation was still wet in this photo.

Tips For Application
I would suggest working quickly with this foundation when applying it because it does dry quickly but it is not drying on the skin! Another tip is to use a beauty blender rather than a brush because it is a thicker formula but it does not feel heavy on the skin. Also, if you have dry skin, make sure to really exfoliate, moisturize and prep your skin before wear or you are setting up yourself for disappointment! I have oily skin and I love a good matte foundation but it is hard to find one that lasts all day on my type of skin.

Overall
I did really like the results that this foundation delivered but I do find the price tag a little steep. If you are interested in purchasing this foundation, it comes in 24 shades and is $49 CAD on the Sephora web site. I also found myself going through foundation that didn’t come with a pump a lot quicker than I had wanted to and by using less of this foundation to achieve the results I had been wanting, this was worth it!

I can’t wait to wear this in the fall and winter months with a bold, bright lip!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

How To Get Glowing Smooth Summer Skin

Hey everyone! I like to keep my routine simple and these two items give me the smoothest, healthiest looking glow possible during the warmer months!

This dynamic duo consists of Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer in Fair to Medium. You can pick this up at your local drugstore for under $10 CAD. I have been using this product for over 10 years and I can't be without it! It gives you the perfect glow, it doesn't smell of harsh chemicals and feels great on the skin! It gives you a nice subtle tan within a few days. TIP: Don't forget to wash your hands after applying it to your body and it is best to apply it after you exfoliate.

The other product that I enjoy using is my epilator. I am currently using the Emjoi Emagine. I have used several epilators over the past 6-7 years and this one has to be my favourite. There are 72 tweezer heads and there are two speeds. If you aren't familiar with what an epilator is, it basically grabs the hair from the root and leaves you with smooth skin with no stubble. This is an electric device that comes with an adaptor that you simply plug into the wall. It may hurt the first few times you use it but you quickly get used to it and the results speak for themselves! Your hair will grow back slower than if you had shaved and the hairs themselves will be thinner.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

What's In My Beach Bag & Beach Tips

Hey everyone! I seen numerous people who have showed the world what is in their beach bag and myself too, have hopped on the bandwagon to show all you what I keep in mine. My beach bag is from Victoria Secret and I bought it from an outlet in Michigan.

Beach Must Haves:
A towel is a must when going to the beach to sit and lay on! It would be a good idea to bring a second towel either for a friend or for drying off because you don’t want to use the one that you have been sitting on, it’s full of sand!

I really don’t know how people can walk in sneakers on the beach. I tried it once and I did not last very long in them! A pair of flip flops is ideal for when the sand is too hot and you don’t want to go barefoot! I purchased my gold glittery flip flops as Ardene.

Hydration is extremely important when you are outside in hot weather! I bring multiple bottles with me whenever I visit the beach. TIP: Bring a cooler to keep your water and snacks cold.

A pair of sunglasses can be stylish yet very protective from the blazing sun! I bought mine from Ardene for $2 CAD. You can’t go wrong with aviators!

A lot of people forget to protect their lips while at the beach and having sunburned lips is not fun!  I use ELF Conditioning Lip Balm in Peaceful Pink which has on SPF of 15. It smells great and gives your lips a slight pink tint!

Sunscreen should be in every single person’s beach bag! I like the Hawaiian Tropic brand and it has an SPF of 30. Of course you can get something with a higher SPF, but that is what I had on hand. This is a non-greasy formula, it is oil free and is water resistant up to 80 minutes. Don’t forget to put sunscreen on your ears and on the tops of your feet!

I bring tanning oil with me because I like to get the most out of my tan! I like the Banana Boat brand because it smells incredible and I appreciate that there is a nozzle to spray the product out of because the oils with the cap you pour out of can get messy. Not to mention that you waste a lot of the product by pouring it right out of the bottle!

After you are done tanning, make sure to put on some Banana Boat Moisturizing Aloe After Sun Lotion! I have been using this for years and it contains pure aloe vera and vitamin e which both soothes your skin as well as prolongs your tan!

A hat to keep your head protected! The sun was very strong when I went to the beach and there were minimal clouds. My hat came in handy! I bought mine in Buffalo at Love Culture.

Pretzels and other snacks that are not too heavy on the stomach such as fruit and vegetables. Make sure to give yourself enough time between eating and going into the water!

A portable charger is key to bring because there are usually no outlets anywhere to plug your phone into if it is dead. This will solve your problem!

Beauty Must Haves:
The sun and the water can really dry-out your hair! That is why I bring some kind of hair oil or conditioner with me whenever I am at the pool or the beach. I am currently using the Garner Fructis Marvellous Oil which is perfect to bring along! I also bring a wide tooth comb to get all the knots out of my hair and a hair tie to put my hair up if needed.

I am that girl that will go to a beach with a full face of makeup and I have to bring makeup wipes with me in-case I need to touch up or take it all off! The packaging with the pineapples is just too cute from Rue 21.

Hand sanitizer, wet wipes or baby wipes is ideal to bring to the beach! I brought along my Honeydew Cooler Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel from Bath & Body Works.

A body mist or splash is perfect to refresh yourself throughout the day! I am using the Total Flirt Body Mist from PINK which has notes of apple blossom and freesia!

Also to freshen up, I usually bring a deodorant with me. I’ve been using the Dove Dry Spray in the scent Cool Essentials.

Entertainment:
I didn’t have any on hand, but you can always bring a few magazines to flip through or grab a great book to put in your bag! Or bring your iPad or Kindle to read them on!

I listen to music on my iPhone and I always make sure to have a pair of headphones with me whenever I go to the beach.

If your friends are athletic, bring a frisbee, volley ball, football, beach ball or soccer ball with you! Some beaches have courts you can use!

If you have a dog, bring your dog along so that you share the memories together!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

VELD Outfits, My Experience & Festival Tips

Hey everyone! I attended VELD for the first time and I was so excited to attend the event because I had been wanting to go for years! I wanted to show everyone what I wore and to give all my readers some tips to plan ahead before attending the highly anticipated festival of the summer.

DAY ONE:

Outfit Details:
Choker - I made it myself. Check out this blog post of mine where I show you an easy DIY to make your very own Choker!
Mirrored Sunglasses - Ardene $2 CAD
Bralette - Sabo Skirt
VIP Wristband & Yellow VELD Bracelet were sent to me in the mail after I purchased my ticket
Black Hat - Lids
Camo Fanny-pack - Urban Planet
High Waisted Distressed Shorts - Hope's
Black Converse

I want to start off my saying that I am glad that I got VIP! What is included in VIP: free water (until they run out,) free parking, VIP only bar and washrooms, 19+ tent with seating and furniture, line by-pass and you need to have a VIP wristband to get bottle service.

The line-ups for alcohol were very minimal, the free water really helped me stay hydrated all day and the free parking was awesome! The only thing I wasn't a fan of were the line-ups to get food. We were in line for 20 minutes and barely even moved. Steve Aoki came on the main stage and I decided to leave to line because I didn't want to miss any of his performance. The photo above shows the main stage from the front of the VIP area to give you an idea how far away you are from the stage. Of course, you can always go into the GA area to get closer to the stage.

What was a great idea is that you can link your credit card to your wristband so that you can pay with your wristband instead of your credit card. The event was cashless! You had to register your VELD wristband anyway online so might as well add your credit card too while you're at it! Another great idea is that they had a VELD app for users to be able to: customize their schedule, take photos, listen to the playlist and to find their friend if they lost them in Downsview Park.

Galantis was incredible live and I would be fine with attending an event with just them performing. Yellow Claw, Steve Aoki and DVBSS were also acts on my must see list! However, I found deadmau5's performance to be disappointing live. Don't get me wrong, he is a genius in what he does but I didn't care to stay for his set to be over.

DAY TWO:

 Outfit Details:
Mirror Sunglasses - Ardene $2 CAD
Fringe Halter Bathing Suit Top - Target
Black Fringe Shorts - GUESS
Black Studded Combat Boots - Hautelook
Black Gold Studded Backpack - Marshalls
Fringe Lightweight Cardigan - Hope's

THE PERFECT ACCESSORY!
I put this over my outfit at night when the temperature dropped during both days!

In case you were wondering, there are a ton of porta potties on-site to use. With 60,000-70,000 people attending the event, they weren't always the cleanest but when nature calls, you need to go! There were also water refill stations throughout the venue, a ferris wheel, an inflatable area that you could joust in and an enormous water slide! I went down the water slide twice on the second day! You have to be over 70 lbs and under 300 lbs to ride it. You can't wear sunglasses or bracelets and a team member will gladly hold your items for you. They don't mess around and they have someone putting baby shampoo and baby oil on the slide. You get a lot of air time and fly down the slide! Don't forget your bathing suit because it is mandatory to ride the water slide!

I also felt that the merchandise was fairly priced. I was comparing it to other concerts that I have gone to such as Drake's concert were t-shirts were $45-$50 CAD.

On the second day, there was rain which delayed the gates from opening. They finally did open the gates and I was glad that I wore combat boots that day! I also upgraded to a backpack to keep my towel in for when I went on the water slide. We went closer to the stage on the second day and there were some amazing performances! Dzeko and Torres are pictured above performing on the main stage.

I was torn because Kygo and Travis Scott were performing at the same time but just on different stages. It broke my heart when I learned that Travis Scott was not coming anymore because of something that happened with his flight. They managed to get Majid Jordan to perform on the Terra Stage at the last minute to replace Travis Scott. The Chainsmokers went on the same time as Excision but on different stages and I found The Chainsmokers to be mediocre live. They had cool effects with the fire and lights but, something was lacking. We walked over to the Terra Stage to see Excision and I am so glad that we made that executive decision!

Excision (on the right,) threw down on the Terra Stage and was phenomenal live! Ephwurd was before Excision and they were INSANE live! I didn't know much about them before VELD but now, I can't stop listening to them! Kygo went on the main stage before Garrix and I wasn't really a fan. His music is too mellow for me. Other people seemed to enjoy it which was awesome. Martin Garrix closed VELD and his set was everything! Hearing him play Virus live was something that words can even describe! I was so glad that they chose him to close!

The worst was trying to get out of the actual park after the festival was done because there were so many people. There are shuttles offered from certain areas in the GTA which I will look into next year.   I also want to check out Digital Dreams next year which is very similar to VELD and ULTRA Miami is definitely on my bucket list!

TIPS:
- Check online what you can and can't bring into VELD before attending!
- Bring an empty water bottle into VELD to refill at the water stations. STAY HYDRATED!
- Your cigarettes, gum, lip gloss, food and tampons has to be factory sealed
- Have a buddy system and make sure you have a general meeting point in-case you get split up
- You are allowed to bring cream based sunscreen into VELD (not ones in aerosol cans)
- You are outside for the entire event so be sure to bring a hat and sunglasses
- Bring a portable charger for your phone
- I brought factory sealed makeup wipes with me in-case I needed them and I would suggest bringing wet wipes because a lot of the hand sanitizer stations didn't even work!
- Pace yourself to get the full experience - Don't rush it!
- Bring a poncho! (I had to use one on the second day!)
- Bring extra clothes if you think it is necessary for the ever changing weather conditions
- I upgraded to a backpack on the second day and I am glad that I did! Bring a backpack!
- Plan your schedule ahead of time so that you don't miss any artists that you actually want to see
- Make time to eat and take a break from it all!
- If you have any questions, VELD representatives are walking around and are willing to answer any of your questions!
- If you feel ill, locate a member from the numerous medical teams stationed around the grounds. DON'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP!
- Leave your valuables at home!

YOU WILL BE WALKING A LOT SO BE SURE TO WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Project 10 Pan - Round 4 | 2016

Hey everyone! I have been using up a ton of makeup products lately and wanted to share with you some items that I currently have used up!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set - This is a holy grail item for me that I use before and after my makeup application. I have many more in my back-up drawer to go through and you will be seeing more empties of this particular product in the near future!

Maybelline Fit Me Hydrate + Smooth Foundation in 210 Sandy Beige - This has an SPF of 18 and is for Normal to Dry skin. I have combination skin and that didn’t really apply to me but I did appreciate the SPF in the foundation! I find myself going through these foundations rather quickly but it is very inexpensive so I really can’t complain. Also, I love that they have a wide range of shades in this foundation because there is something for just about everyone! Side note: This has been renamed to Fit Me Dewy + Smooth in the USA but is still the same formula as this one which is the Hydrate + Smooth.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Shade 240 Golden Beige - This alone was too dark for me and I mixed it with the Clarins BB Cream which gave me the perfect coverage on my skin! The original formula may just be my favourite out of the entire Fit Me line.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Light - This gave me great coverage for under my eyes! I wasn’t a fan of the sponge applicator because I feel as though the sponge soaks up a lot of the product. It also can have bacteria which I try not to think about because you can’t exactly clean the applicator. I would have loved if it was in a squeeze bottle or even if it had a pump!

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr.Rescue in Pink Me Up
This wasn’t my favourite product to use because the formula didn’t last long on my lips and I was constantly reapplying it. It is a medicated balm and there is an expiration date on the bottom just an FYI.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer aka 'The Luminizer' - This was a great highlighter to use that lasted me over a year! I absolutely love highlighting my face and would often times apply this on my lips as well as in my inner-corners! It is described as a ‘honey-hued lumanizer,’ that really gives me the perfect colour that I look for in a highlighter! I also love the mirror that comes with the compact and I even found myself using it to do my makeup in when I was in different hotels!

NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in CJ 10 Yellow - It is described as light weight and crease free. I would have to agree and I want to mention that I use it under my foundation to really brighten up all the parts on my face that I apply highlighter to. It was a decent product but I didn’t fall in love with it.

Clarins Paris BB Skin Perfecting Cream in 00 Fair - I have used up another tube of this that I spoke about in a past empties blog post. I use this before my foundation to even out my skin tone. I like that it has an SPF of 25 to help protect the skin. I am interested in trying out another brand before buying another tube of this BB cream from Clarins.

Benefit The Pore-fessional  - This helps to ‘minimize the appearance of pores’ which I need because I have large pores that need some help! This product does not have a colour because it is translucent and feels silky on the skin when you rub it into your skin! It is also oil-free and lightweight. I would definitely re-purchase this product! It is pricey but it honestly lasts a long time and a little bit of this product goes a long way!

MAC Lipstick in Angel - This shade is a frost and is described as a ‘soft pink’ on the MAC web site. It is by far one my my favourite lipstick shades at MAC. I would definitely repurchase this!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

DIY: Drying Out Flowers & Arranging Them

Hey everyone! Since it is wedding season, many of us have been surrounded by some gorgeous floral arrangements. It is a shame to let these beautiful flowers go to waste and that is why I decided to dry them out to preserve them. I took flowers from the centre piece at one wedding and the other flowers were from my bouquet of another wedding that I was part of.

To dry them out, take a rubber band and tie it over the stems but don't tie it too tight. You then will want to hang the flowers upside down to dry. I hung them in my basement because it is more cool down there. They hung down there on a hook for about 2-3 weeks. If you don't want to hang them up to dry, you can also put them in a brown paper bag to dry out with the stems poking out of the bag after you tie with a rubber band. You want to do this so that no air comes inside and if you are worried about the circulation, you can always poke some holes in the bag. You can preserve them with hairspray once they are dried out but I skipped that step.

One of the heads of the flowers did come off and I just glued it with a glue gun. Another tip I want to mention is to envision how you want your bouquet to look like before you start trimming the stems. I arranged it before making all the necessary cuts. I already had a glass vase in my house so I used that for the flowers to be placed in and then I cut a piece of ribbon to go around it for a little extra touch. That is of course optional and I will end up changing the ribbon one day once I get tired of the current one.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

July Empties | 2016

Hey everyone! I feel like I wrote my June Empties blog post just the other day and now it's time for another round of empties! As always, you can see which products I have finished and my honest review on each one.

Face
M. Asam VinoLift Lipo Pearls Cleansing Cream (200 ml) - This is a German brand that I found through watching The Shopping Channel. My mom enjoys using this brand and I loved how effortless this removed my makeup at night! The only minor complaint I found was that when I took this into the shower with me, the next time I would use this product, water would accumulate in the cap and spill everywhere making it messy when I would open it up to use again especially if it was over the sink.

Olay Total Effects 7 in One Anti-Aging Eye Treatment - This was a decent product and I purchased it on sale. It is light weight and I used it every single night before I went to bed. I am in my 20’s and do not really have any major skin concerns right now therefore I did not see any drastic differences after using this eye treatment.

Nice’n Clean All Purpose Wipes - These wipes are AMAZING! I loved them for multiple reasons: they are extremely cost effective, they are multi-purpose, they are a decent size, they do not rip when you use them, they did not dry out, they lasted me quite awhile because there are 80 unscented wipes and the packaging is such a nice shade of blue! Once I use up all of my other wipes, I am going straight back to Wal-Mart and purchasing another pack!

Teeth - DenTek Triple Clean Floss Picks (90 Count)
These were great to use and they claim to be made with ‘extra strong floss.’ They did not rip or break when I was using them and keep in mind that I have a wire at the back of my back teeth as well as my behind my front teeth because I used to have braces.

Colgate Total Whitening Gel Toothpaste - This is a very basic toothpaste as it does the bare minimum for my teeth. I have more back-ups of these and you will see this product a few more times in the upcoming months.

Hair
Selsun Blue Anti-Dandruff Shampoo - Deep Cleansing Micro-Bead Scrub - You already know that I have a scalp that is hard to manage: it is oily in general, and then the humid weather dries it out and leaves my scalp dry. This product used to work for me years ago but I think that my scalp got used to it and it is no longer effective. I also wanted to point out that they have non-plastic micro beads in their formula.

Hands
Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone (x2) - You have seen this before and it is a staple in my household. My dad and brother even enjoy this scent!

Body
The Body Shop Body Butter in Smoky Poppy - This was a free perk I received with my purchase a few months ago and I really enjoyed the scent! It is musky and more of a warm scent! It is perfect for fall and winter! I would get this scent again in a heartbeat!

Johnson’s Baby Wash with Shea Cocoa Butter - This is the one with the yellow formula and it is one of my favourites! I have been using this for quite some time now and it makes my skin very smooth.

Vitamins & Other
Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies with Biotin (80 Gummies) - This is something that I take on the daily and have been doing so for many months now. It has really strengthened my nails and made my hair stronger as well as thicker.

Cotton 100% Pure Cotton - Cotton Rounds (100 Count) - These are the ones from Wal-Mart and I absolutely love them! They are sturdy, get the job done and are very affordable.

David’s Tea Peanut Butter Cup - This was a tea bag given to me by my friend and I loved this flavour! It was sweet enough for me to drink black and because of that, I did not have to add any sweetener or honey!

Samples
Crest Pro-Health Jr. Fluoride Anticavity Toothpaste  - I received this as a sample and let’s just talk about the obvious for a minute: the packaging. I absolutely love the packaging! If I had known that this toothpaste was Frozen themed, I would have stocked up! The formula of this product was great too as it was a blue paste called ‘Rockin’ Mint.’

The Face Shop Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter (4 Samples) - I absolutely love this product! It claims that it is gives ‘intense moisture’ to the face which I would have to agree with. I received these samples with my purchase and I am so glad that she gave me this product to try-out because I would have never thought to try it on my own! It smells great, it absorbs into the skin quickly enough that I can follow-up with my makeup right after, and the formula luxurious! After I am out of my other moisturizers, I will definitely consider buying this in the full-sized version!

The Body Shop Drops of Youth - Youth Concentrate (x3) - I received these samples in-store and after being able to try this product out for a while, I feel like it absorbed quickly into my skin, the formula was not sticky and it made my skin softer overall. What I noticed is that the dropper wasn’t ideal for this product and often times I would take product on the exterior of the dropper instead of squeezing it to apply it onto my face. I also noticed that I was breaking out less on my face when using this product. It retails for $40 CAD for 30 ml which is on the more expensive side but The Body Shop always has sales and promotions going on that you can take advantage of!

Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser - I loved using this product! I couldn’t get enough of the smell, it took off my makeup effortlessly and I really felt like it was giving my pores a good cleaning! My skin was soft and smooth after use! I used it both in the morning as well as at night and I felt that it was perfect for my combination skin! I am certain that males can use this product too because the scent is fresh smelling and not girly.

Fresh Soy Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover with Soothing Mallow Extract - This wasn’t my favourite eye makeup remover and it did burn when it got into my eyes. The formula is white and not too thick. I wouldn’t purchase this on my own.

The Estee Edit Dissolve The Drama 2-in-1 Makeup Remover + Cleanser - I just used this to clean-up under the eye area and it wasn’t anything special. The formula is clear and I feel like I have to try it again to have a real opinion of it because I didn’t try it as a facial cleanser.

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Transforming Oil-in-Cream - I really enjoyed this product! I would apply it to my hair after I came out of the shower. A little bit goes a long way as it states that you only need a dime sized amount. I would agree that it was very nourishing, ultra lightweight and it left my hair very soft!

L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner - This was a great duo to use in the shower! It is a very lightweight formula and it is non-greasy. I did find my hair to feel silky smooth after one use.

Tresemme Expert Selection Step 1 - Pre-Wash Conditioner & Step 2 - Shampoo - I used Step 1 the night before and applied it evenly into my hair. I slept, woke-up and then washed my hair with the shampoo. I did like the reverse treatment and found that it was effective. It also smelled great in the shower!

OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full Shampoo & Conditioner - There are bamboo fibers and soy proteins in both the formulas. It had a nice smell to it but it didn’t WOW me. I would only purchase both the shampoo and conditioner if it was on sale or on promotion.

Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal with Moisture-Silk Complex Shampoo & Conditioner (x2) - It claims to help ‘lock in hydration from root to tip.’ I would agree with that and I must say that I certainly loved using both the shampoo and the conditioner! It smelled amazing in the shower and left my hair feeling silky smooth! I would consider buying this dynamic duo!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
