Urban Decay Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray | Review

Hey everyone! I recently picked the Urban Decay Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray up at the L'Oreal Warehouse Sale | March 2018 and wanted to do a full review for you! Even though this is the old packaging, I believe that it is the same formula but if I'm mistaken, please let me know in the comments section. Let's jump right in!

Claims & Benefits
This spray is infused with the first stabilized form of the vitamin B6 and it is a prep spray. It claims to: reduce redness, minimizes pores and to absorb oil. You can use it during the morning before you apply your makeup, during the day to refresh your makeup or in the evening after you have removed all of your makeup, during your skincare routine. It claims to be targeted to all ages, skin types and that it is a microfine mist. This formula was created in an exclusive partnership with Skindinavia and it also contains vitamin E as well as willow bark.

Where To Buy, Price & Size
You can purchase the new packaging on the Sephora website for $40 that comes with 118 ml of product or the Urban Decay site.
Update: It now retails for $42 CAD.

How It Performed & Is It Worth The Money?
I do like the size of this bottle because it is only 30 ml and it is very travel friendly. I can also slip it into my purse if I felt the need to add it in there. The mist is definitely very fine and it felt great when applying it onto the face. The spray itself took a little while to actually release the product and it's stiff when I press it down but for now, I can look past that as I am still trying out the product. I haven't used a product before with such a fine mist and once I'm done with the product inside, I may put in my rose water because that is how muchI like the sprayer itself!

Makeup Products That Are Worth The Splurge

Hey everyone! Currently, there are so many new products that are being launched and makeup items seem to be coming out at a faster rate than ever. I want to share with you some items that I definitely think are worth your money and worth the splurge!

Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Longwear Liquid Foundation - $49
This product was very much talked about when it first launched and this is a full coverage foundation. Yes, it does oxidize and that's why you need to buy 1-2 shades lighter than your actual complexion. My bottle is in the shade 3.0 which is too light for me but it works just fine for me once I step outside. I have found a way to make this work for my oily skin and I really do like it! The gun-metal packaging is beautiful and I love that it comes with a pump. I do have an entire blog post dedicated to this wonderful foundation and I also featured it in my Monthly Favourites video.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant  Lipstick SPF 15 - $40
The gold packaging is honestly gorgeous and the shade I have which is #1, is very wearable as it is a great every day colour! The formula is very creamy and not drying on the lips. I like to bring this with me to an event or if I have a special night out planned!

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayons - $31
These were definitely a splurge for me! I first swatched these in my local Sephora and fell in love with the formula! It glides onto your eyelids effortlessly and it is great to tight-line with! I purchased two shades myself: Blacquer and Jazz(berry). I am glad that they were giving out the mini-pencil last year as part of the birthday gift because now I have one to toss in my purse and travel with!

NARS Blush - $38 & NARS Single Eyeshadow - $31
The blush compact and single eyeshadow pans are very pigmented! A little bit goes a long way and that is why I have yet to hit pan on either one! They offer a great range of shades and I love using Luster in the Summer when I am more tanned! Strada is great for a more dramatic effect or when you want a pop of colour on your eyelids!

MAC Pigment - $26
I got this many years ago and you can tell that I still have a lot of product left! This is a great multi-purpose product that I featured in my 15 Makeup Tips video. Mine is in the shade 'Melon' and it is a great shade that isn't too over-the-top as it is on the more neutral side. This will last me for many more years! You can also purchase the mini-pigments on the MAC web site for only $12.

My 5 Most Used Eyeshadow Palettes | Affordable & High End

Hey everyone! Many of us have too many palettes in our collection or palettes that have nice packaging, but we never use them. I wanted to share with you my top 5 eyeshadow palettes (both high end and affordable,) that I have used many times as well as even travelled with that I think are worth every penny!

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette - I have had this palette for quite some time now and I still find myself using it! I have packed this in my carry-on many times and there is a great shade range! It retails for $66 CAD on the Sephora web site along with the other palettes in the series with 12 eyeshadow pans. This is the first edition you can honestly do so many different looks with this one palette!

2. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - I purchased mine when I was in Hollywood and I have hit pan on 3 of the shades! I love that there is a carbon black shade called 'Crave' and that there is one shimmery shade in the palette named 'Venus.' There are two matte shades that you can use all over the lid and they also give you a choice of two matte crease colours. It retails for $36 CAD and you can purchase it at Sephora.

3. Carli Bybel 14 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette - I do have an entire blog post on this where I reviewed this palette and I constantly find myself reaching for this lovely palette! It has 14 eyeshadows and 4 beautiful highlighters that I use in rotation! I packed this with me on vacation several times and it has a nice sized mirror! The shades are great for every skin tone and I can use this when I am on the more fair side or even when I am more tanned. It is very affordable as it retails for $14.50 USD on the BH Cosmetics web site and keep in mind that this is limited edition. Once all the palettes are sold out, there are no more being made and you will have to purchase it on eBay or Amazon.

4. BH Cosmetics Neutral Eyes 28 Colour Eyeshadow Palette - This is also another affordable palette that is sold for $12 USD on the BH Cosmetics web site. As you can probably tell already, I love neutral shades and these pans are quite large which is another bonus! The pans are rather pigmented and you get 28 shades which are perfect to create a plethora of different looks! I purchased this a little over 2 years now and I showed it in my Black Friday + Cyber Monday Collective Haul post.

5. Morphe 35O Eyeshadow Palette - I purchased the palette with both shimmers and mattes because I didn't want a palette that just had one or the other - I wanted both! I am very happy with this palette and I know that it was very hyped up. I say that it does live up to its hype and if you love a great warm toned palette, this one is definitely for you! I purchased mine for $22.99 USD on the Morphe web site. I did haul this in a past blog post where I showed you what items I purchased when I received my very first order online from Morphe.

Let me know in the comments what your most used palettes are!

Tricky Hair | 3D Mink Eyelashes

Hey everyone! Since it is Thanksgiving here in Canada, I wanted to wear my Mink Lashes by Tricky Hair that will compliment any fall look!

I received many compliments when I wore them out and they were definitely the star of the show!

Packaging
I absolutely love the packaging that the mink lashes come in! The black and pink looks great together! The polka dots add a nice touch and to open up the box that the lashes come in, you simply pull the two parts on the top outwards. I also appreciated that it didn't come in that plastic packaging that other brands house their lashes in. This is a very sturdy box and like I mentioned, you literally open up the box to get to the lashes and there is no slide out exterior cover that some of you may be used to. It is a very practical and well thought-out design!

The Lashes
These lashes are made with 100% Mink Fur. They are very soft and they are long in length which I absolutely love! They can also be worn for a night out with the girls, on a bride that would like a more dramatic lash or if you have a special upcoming event! I have small eyes in general and every single lash that I buy (regardless of the brand,) I do have to cut. I didn't have to trim much off these lashes but underneath is a photo of the lashes outside the box before I cut them. If you are wondering, they are very comfortable to wear, they are very lightweight (they are not heavy & do not weigh down your lids,) and they are BY FAR my favourite pair of lashes that I currently own! They are more full towards the band and they feather out towards the end giving a more dramatic look. I would estimate that they would be good for about 20-25 uses if you take care of them.

Before & After

You can see from the photos above that I have sparse lashes that are long in length. I look for a lash that gives me volume and that is exactly what these mink eyelashes gave me! I couldn't be happier and you can see for yourself down below the difference that it made.

Before

After

The Eye Look

To achieve the eye look, I used the Morphe 350 Palette. I have highlighted which shades that I used on my eyes. The shimmery shade that is in the top row and third from the left, I used that all over my lid. The gorgeous brown shade was used in my lower crease. The orange shade directly to the right of the brown was used in my upper crease. Then I went in with the shade underneath the orange that is circled in black in my outer-v. To go underneath my lower lashes, I used a mixture of the three shades to the right of the palette. To add some shimmer in my inner corners and for my brow bone highlight, I went in with my trusty Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette with Venus. In-between my crease colours and brow bone highlight, I used Foxy in that same palette as a transitional shade.

What I Used On My Lips:
- ColourPop Lippie Pencil in Brink
- Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie
- Revlon Colourburst Lip Gloss in Bordeaux

On my lips, I used three different products and definitely took advantage of a more glossy lip since that is coming back after the matte lips took over for a while and I couldn't be happier!

August Empties | 2016

Hey everyone! Here is a closer look at all the products that I finished up this month!

Face
OXY - Emergency Acne Vanishing Facial Cleanser - This is formulated with 5% benzoyl peroxide lotion and claims to ‘rapidly kill acne bacteria to quickly help heal acne blemishes.’ This consistency was too liquid-y and I felt that it rand right through the spaces between my fingers even if they were closed. It did have a rather strong smell to it and I did have to really moisturize my skin afterwards because this was rather drying. Also, it is medicated and there is an expiration date on the back of the bottle towards the bottom so keep an eye-out for that!

Biore - Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (8 count) - You already know that I love using pore strips. I have recently heard that they may not be the best solution for your skin, but I will continue to use them because I love the results that it gives my pores! It also gives instant gratification by seeing all the blackheads and whiteheads that have come out of your pores to achieve a deep clean!

The Face Shop - Blackhead Out Dual Nose Strips - Here is the thing about this product, I tried to make it work but it did not work for me! Step 1 tells you to wash your face and then apply the ‘blackhead out nose strip’ for 10-15 minutes. I felt that it was too thick and kept moving around on my nose, not really sitting well or adhering well to my skin. I left mine on for 15 minutes and when I took it off, you are supposed to use cotton swabs to remove blackheads. I felt like some of my whiteheads, (I don’t get blackheads often,) loosened but they did not come right out like I imagined they would.

Now during step 2 was where I had the most trouble. The directions tell you to clean the bridge of your nose and then go in with the ‘pore tightening nose sheet.’ I peeled off the backing and applied to to my nose for 20 minutes. I peeled it off and I felt that nothing had happened. I generally apply the Biore Pore Strips to a wet nose and tried using the other side of the strip that was not sticky to my wet nose making sure to leave it on for about 15 minutes but nothing happened! I was disappointed in this product and felt that I had wasted both my time as well as my money on it. Would definitely not recommend this item. I have loved everything I have purchased or received from The Face Shop in the past and this product really caught me off-guard!

The Face Shop - The Solution Moisturizing Face Mask (1 single-use face mask) - The hot weather has really been drying out my skin lately and simply applying moisturizer has not been cutting it for my lately. I wanted another option to bring moisture back into my skin and this really did it for me! I felt as though my skin drank up this face mask and there wasn’t much essence to pat into my skin face after removing the sheet mask. I also liked that it is marketed as a ‘light-as-Air Sheet’ that is only 0.21 mm and is semi-transparent. It really fit my face better and I have found other sheet masks that I have used in the past too thick and this was really ideal for me to use!

Hands
Bath & Body Works - Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - I could be wrong, but this may be the last back-up I have of this scent! I know I have featured this scent a lot in my previous blog posts. This is the old bottle and formula. Bath & Body Works has completely re-done the packaging and the new formula is now green.

Bath & Body Works - Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Honolulu Sun - To be honest with you, I had high hopes for this scent just based on reading the description alone which said that it consists of: ‘fresh island coconut and pacific palm.’ I didn’t really smell either of those fragrances and got tired of the scent half-way through the bottle.

Other/Miscellaneous
Nature’s Bounty - Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies with Biotin (80 gummies) - This product needs no introduction because it is a staple in my beauty routine. My nails are currently extremely strong and growing fabulously mainly due to this inexpensive product!

Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Hardener - I can’t tell you how many of these that I have gone through and this product really works! I will continue to purchase this product for as long as they make it or until I find something better which is highly unlikely!

Bath & Body Works - Scentportable in Watermelon Lemonade - I have been using this product for years in my car but I have always forgotten to show you the label! This is a nice refreshing smell that is perfect for summer time. The only thing that I dislike about these scentportables is that the scent doesn’t last for more than 3 weeks for me and in the summer months, they can get quite warm to the touch in my car.

Jelly Belly - Minnie Mouse Special Edition - I received this as a gift for my birthday and I absolutely love the packaging! There are delicious flavours inside such as: Berry Blue, Birthday Cake, Bubble Gum, Coconut, Cotton Candy, Cherry Passion Fruit and Strawberry Cheesecake!

Gillette - Venus Swirl Razor - This came with one razor and two refillable cartridges. I wanted to try it out because there was a lot of hype about it. I had seen numerous commercials and it happened to be on sale when I walked into Wal-Mart that day. The packaging also caught my eye because it said that it was new, had a flexi - ball (which I was intrigued about,) and it mentioned on the packaging that it ‘contours better to tricky areas for a flawless shave.’ I liked the idea behind it but I felt that there was so much going on with this razor and the razor head was too large for my liking. It is great if you are shaving your legs like it showed on the commercial, but I epilate my legs. It is also good to shave your armpits with but overall, I still love my BIC Soleil razors because they are small, disposable and get the job done!

Samples
Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths (25) - I have used these in the past and they are an amazing product. They are durable enough to take off all of my makeup and they do not break while I am doing so. The cloths themselves are soft and gentle enough for sensitive skin. I will definitely purchase a pack of these when I run out of my current makeup wipes.

Caudalie - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum - I have been hearing a lot of people talking about this brand lately and I was glad to have finally been able to try it out. This is an oil-free formula that should be used on the face, neck and décolleté. It is complexion correcting and helps reduce dark spots, acne marks as well as acne scars. I feel like I would have to test out this product more to really be able to speak about it more. However, I tried searching it online on Sephora Canada and it told me that this item is restricted in Canada. I don’t know what is going on with this product and I feel like I would either have to find another retailer here that sells the product or I would have to purchase it in the USA.

Dr. Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Glow Pad for Face (1 individual towelette) - This product is an ‘anti-aging exfoliating self-tanner with active vitamin d.’ It has potential but I recently got a natural tan from being outside and when I applied the towelette onto my face, I didn’t see any difference at all. I would say that it works best on more lighter-complected people.

Dr. Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Daily Peel - I really did enjoy using this product because I loved how it made my skin feel after the fact. There are two steps to this process where step 1 exfoliates & smoothes the skin and then you go in with step 2 which firms and lifts the skin.

Hourglass - Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying in shade Shell - I really loved how skin-like this foundation felt! The shade wasn’t too far off from what I would be in this foundation. I applied it with a beauty blender and it did transform from liquid to powder! I was impressed overall.

Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion 24-Hour Eyeshadow in: Original, Eden, Minor Sin and Anti-Aging - Of course the original is a cult favourite which dries invisible and keeps even the most vibrant colours in place. Eden is more of a nude matte formula which I enjoyed using. The third one is ‘minor sin’ which is a shimmering formula which has a slight pink tint to it which I enjoyed. It transformed my nude shades from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette to more purple-toned shadows which I found to be very cool! Tip: I accidentally squeezed too much product out of this same shade and I just used my fingers to use it as a base for my highlighter on my face which worked out perfectly! Lastly, the anti-aging formula was nude shade and helped to colour-correct as well as to blurs any flaws. I traveled with several of these primers and thought that this was a genius sample pack!

L’Occitane En Provence  - Dry Skin Hand Cream with 20% Shea - This is great to put in your purse or take on-the-go. I do have dry hands due to my psoriasis and this really gave me the kind of moisture that I was looking for that my hands really needed. It is a great product.

Colgate - Total Clean Mint Toothpaste (x2) - This was a very standard and basic toothpaste to use. It is great to travel with and keeps your breathe smelling fresh.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation Review

Hey everyone! I had been really wanting to try the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation for awhile now because it claims that it is: full coverage, long wearing, it is a matte finish, waterproof and that it is oil free. I love a great full coverage foundation that won’t break me out and was excited to test it out!

The Packaging
First off, we need to talk about the obvious: the packaging! It is simply gorgeous and who wouldn’t be proud to display that on their vanity? The gunmetal packaging on the box as well as the bottle looks edgy yet sleek and modern at the same time. I do appreciate that it comes with a pump because not all foundation come with one and that can get pretty messy. It also allows you to use up all of the product inside of the bottle.

Even the packaging inside the box is beautiful!

The Formula
Urban Decay claims that this formula has about three times more pigment than the Naked Skin Liquid Makeup. Applying multiple layers is not necessary because a little bit of this foundation goes a long way! They also claim that the “waterproof formula diffuses light to blur flaws for beautifully perfected skin, while it mattifies and absorbs oil to reduce the appearance of shine.” Another reason that I was drawn to this foundation is because it offers blurring technology which helps me deal with the larger pores around my cheeks, closer to my nose.

Undertones
I chose 3.0 because it is described as ‘light with soft warm undertones.’ I have a very yellow undertone to my skin and I am also in the neutral family which can be hard to find a foundation that matches me perfectly. It does oxidize and I suggest going into your local Sephora to swatch them out in-person. Also, another tip is to wait for the formula to actually dry before making up your mind! I may have to add in a drop of my other yellow-based foundation to this one but it isn’t something that I can’t fix myself.

The foundation was still wet in this photo.

Tips For Application
I would suggest working quickly with this foundation when applying it because it does dry quickly but it is not drying on the skin! Another tip is to use a beauty blender rather than a brush because it is a thicker formula but it does not feel heavy on the skin. Also, if you have dry skin, make sure to really exfoliate, moisturize and prep your skin before wear or you are setting up yourself for disappointment! I have oily skin and I love a good matte foundation but it is hard to find one that lasts all day on my type of skin.

Overall
I did really like the results that this foundation delivered but I do find the price tag a little steep. If you are interested in purchasing this foundation, it comes in 24 shades and is $49 CAD on the Sephora web site. I also found myself going through foundation that didn’t come with a pump a lot quicker than I had wanted to and by using less of this foundation to achieve the results I had been wanting, this was worth it!

I can’t wait to wear this in the fall and winter months with a bold, bright lip!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
