Luxury Lipsticks | Tom Ford & YSL

Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you the only two high-end lipsticks that are in my collection. I will also let you know if they are worth the money or if you should pass on them.

Tom Ford Lip Foil in #01 Private Life - $68
Private Life is a pretty golden, bronze shade and it has a shimmer finish to it but you can't feel the shimmer particles on your lips. When applied on, it looks more like a metallic lipstick and I will mainly be using this as a lip topper. When the sun hits this lip colour, it really intensifies the colour and amps it up a notch! This would be a great shade to wear to the beach and would look amazing on medium skin toned girls!

This formula seems to emphasize the lines on my lips so also keep that in mind, and the wear time isn't very long at all. It went on smooth however, it is definitely not a full coverage lip product and it can be drying on the lips. I only paid $20 for this at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale and there are 6 shades in total in the range. Overall, I wouldn't say that it is an item worth paying the full price for. The packaging is very luxurious and it feels expensive. It tends to get dirty if your hands have been playing with makeup so be mindful of that.

YSL Rouge Volupté in #01 - $43
I received this many years ago as a gift from the Sephora website. Now they don't carry this particular lipstick online anymore and this shade can be rather hard to track down in Canada. I want to mention that this lipstick is easy to apply, it glides on effortlessly, it's creamy, non-drying on the lips and it goes on like butter. The shade is stunning and a great every day colour as it is a pink-nude with a satin finish. The packaging is iconic and there is some weight to this lipstick tube. If I have an event to go to, I make sure to pack this in my clutch! I honestly urge you to swatch this in-store for yourself because you will not be disappointed and there are many more shades to choose from!

Overall, I would have to say: pass on the Tom Ford Lip Foil lipsticks and go for a Rouge Volupté instead because that is definitely worth the splurge!

Essence Makeup Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I have been hearing about Essence Makeup for quite some time now and I wanted to share with you my thoughts as well as some swatches of 3 different makeup products by them! I have seen Essence at Shoppers Drug Mart and Real Canadian Superstore (RCSS) for all you Canadian shoppers. You can of course purchase them online on their web site or at Walgreens and   Ulta if you live in the USA. If you live in Europe, check out their European web site

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder - $4.99 CAD

I have very oily skin and I am instantly drawn to any product that claims to help mattify my skin. This along with all their other products, are very affordable and this powder was very soft. You have to be careful not too apply too much because this can leave a white cast if you overdo it and can make you look cakey!

Essence Sun Club All-in-One Bronzing Highlighter #01 Sun Light - $4.50 - $5.99 CAD (Approximately)

This claims to be for blondes and lighter skin. I am very fair right now and although I am not blonde, I can still get away with wearing this. It also mentions that it is for: eyes, face and body. The shades are quite pigmented and you can use a smaller brush if you want to be more precise when using just one colour, or you can take a fluffy brush to get a mixture of all the shades!

Essence Longlasting Lipstick in #10 Cotton Candy - $2.50 - $2.99 CAD (Approximately)

When I swatched it, I noticed that it was rather creamy, it was pigmented and it had a typical lipstick smell to it (which I do not mind.) This is a fun shade for the Spring and Summer which I will definitely get much wear out of!

I have a friend that loves their Express Dry Drops ($2.99 - $3.99 CAD - approximately) and I have seen her use them in front of me. They make such a difference and they are great for when you are in a rush or when you need your nails to dry very quickly. They do work and I want to pick up a bottle of this next time I visit the drugstore! I also heard that their I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base is great and doesn't crease!

Makeup Products That Are Worth The Splurge

Hey everyone! Currently, there are so many new products that are being launched and makeup items seem to be coming out at a faster rate than ever. I want to share with you some items that I definitely think are worth your money and worth the splurge!

Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Longwear Liquid Foundation - $49
This product was very much talked about when it first launched and this is a full coverage foundation. Yes, it does oxidize and that's why you need to buy 1-2 shades lighter than your actual complexion. My bottle is in the shade 3.0 which is too light for me but it works just fine for me once I step outside. I have found a way to make this work for my oily skin and I really do like it! The gun-metal packaging is beautiful and I love that it comes with a pump. I do have an entire blog post dedicated to this wonderful foundation and I also featured it in my Monthly Favourites video.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant  Lipstick SPF 15 - $40
The gold packaging is honestly gorgeous and the shade I have which is #1, is very wearable as it is a great every day colour! The formula is very creamy and not drying on the lips. I like to bring this with me to an event or if I have a special night out planned!

Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayons - $31
These were definitely a splurge for me! I first swatched these in my local Sephora and fell in love with the formula! It glides onto your eyelids effortlessly and it is great to tight-line with! I purchased two shades myself: Blacquer and Jazz(berry). I am glad that they were giving out the mini-pencil last year as part of the birthday gift because now I have one to toss in my purse and travel with!

NARS Blush - $38 & NARS Single Eyeshadow - $31
The blush compact and single eyeshadow pans are very pigmented! A little bit goes a long way and that is why I have yet to hit pan on either one! They offer a great range of shades and I love using Luster in the Summer when I am more tanned! Strada is great for a more dramatic effect or when you want a pop of colour on your eyelids!

MAC Pigment - $26
I got this many years ago and you can tell that I still have a lot of product left! This is a great multi-purpose product that I featured in my 15 Makeup Tips video. Mine is in the shade 'Melon' and it is a great shade that isn't too over-the-top as it is on the more neutral side. This will last me for many more years! You can also purchase the mini-pigments on the MAC web site for only $12.

Simple Everyday Winter Makeup

Hey everyone! I wanted to share with you an easy, go-to look that I have been wearing on most days! It only takes a few minutes and your skin will definitely be looking more luminous if you decide to try this out!

I have been using a hydrating cream that smells like roses that is from Fresh to give my skin the moisture that it has been lacking! It is pretty dry and very cold where I live therefore, I like to add some luminosity to my dull skin in the winter time. I also like to add some colour back into my face with bronzer and blush!

Products:
Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream
Skindinavia The Makeup Finishing Spray (Oil-Control)
Becca Backlight Priming Filter
Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer in #20 Light
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer in Tan
ELF Pressed Translucent Powder
Pur Minerals Mineral Glow Powder
Sleek Blush in Pomegranate
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Wisp
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara in 01 Extreme Black
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in 005 Nude
Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil in Deep Brown

To top off the look, I used #930 Truffle Tease Lipstick by Maybelline which is a great nude colour!

Project 10 Pan - Round 4 | 2016

Hey everyone! I have been using up a ton of makeup products lately and wanted to share with you some items that I currently have used up!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set - This is a holy grail item for me that I use before and after my makeup application. I have many more in my back-up drawer to go through and you will be seeing more empties of this particular product in the near future!

Maybelline Fit Me Hydrate + Smooth Foundation in 210 Sandy Beige - This has an SPF of 18 and is for Normal to Dry skin. I have combination skin and that didn’t really apply to me but I did appreciate the SPF in the foundation! I find myself going through these foundations rather quickly but it is very inexpensive so I really can’t complain. Also, I love that they have a wide range of shades in this foundation because there is something for just about everyone! Side note: This has been renamed to Fit Me Dewy + Smooth in the USA but is still the same formula as this one which is the Hydrate + Smooth.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in Shade 240 Golden Beige - This alone was too dark for me and I mixed it with the Clarins BB Cream which gave me the perfect coverage on my skin! The original formula may just be my favourite out of the entire Fit Me line.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in Light - This gave me great coverage for under my eyes! I wasn’t a fan of the sponge applicator because I feel as though the sponge soaks up a lot of the product. It also can have bacteria which I try not to think about because you can’t exactly clean the applicator. I would have loved if it was in a squeeze bottle or even if it had a pump!

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr.Rescue in Pink Me Up
This wasn’t my favourite product to use because the formula didn’t last long on my lips and I was constantly reapplying it. It is a medicated balm and there is an expiration date on the bottom just an FYI.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer aka 'The Luminizer' - This was a great highlighter to use that lasted me over a year! I absolutely love highlighting my face and would often times apply this on my lips as well as in my inner-corners! It is described as a ‘honey-hued lumanizer,’ that really gives me the perfect colour that I look for in a highlighter! I also love the mirror that comes with the compact and I even found myself using it to do my makeup in when I was in different hotels!

NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer in CJ 10 Yellow - It is described as light weight and crease free. I would have to agree and I want to mention that I use it under my foundation to really brighten up all the parts on my face that I apply highlighter to. It was a decent product but I didn’t fall in love with it.

Clarins Paris BB Skin Perfecting Cream in 00 Fair - I have used up another tube of this that I spoke about in a past empties blog post. I use this before my foundation to even out my skin tone. I like that it has an SPF of 25 to help protect the skin. I am interested in trying out another brand before buying another tube of this BB cream from Clarins.

Benefit The Pore-fessional  - This helps to ‘minimize the appearance of pores’ which I need because I have large pores that need some help! This product does not have a colour because it is translucent and feels silky on the skin when you rub it into your skin! It is also oil-free and lightweight. I would definitely re-purchase this product! It is pricey but it honestly lasts a long time and a little bit of this product goes a long way!

MAC Lipstick in Angel - This shade is a frost and is described as a ‘soft pink’ on the MAC web site. It is by far one my my favourite lipstick shades at MAC. I would definitely repurchase this!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

L'Oreal Warehouse Sale Thoughts & Swatches

Hey everyone! I went to the L'Oreal Warehouse Sale a few days ago and I wanted to share with you the items that I picked up. They actually moved locations from North York to Markham. I remember finding a great YSL kit at their old location but I didn't seem to find much at their new space! The parking is MUCH better! At the old location, you would have to wait for a spot and there would be security would would help you with your parking spot.

What I Purchased

Prices
I managed to purchase 3 lipsticks and one nail care set. The two Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks were $2.75 each. The L'Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick was $2.50. The L'Oreal Nail set was $1.75. I felt as though they were being sneaky because they only hand a few of these sets located by the nail polish section and they had only one of the two bottles closer to cash that were selling for $2.00.

I will get some good use of of these two products because I am about to be out of my other one! I couldn't go wrong for $1.75! You get a base coat and a top coat in the bundle. There is no step two because that is for your nail polish colour of choice.

L'Oreal Color Riche Matte Lipstick in 130 Androgyne

I will not wear this alone but will be using it to mix with other lip colours! The packaging is old-fashioned but the product itself smells minty and is quite opaque!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 960 Tangy Tulip

I really like this shade of orange! It is perfect for Spring and will look great paired with my orange lip liner from ColourPop Cosmetics!

Here is a photo of me wearing the shade by itself

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 735 Rose Rush

This is a nice red colour! I actually don't have any full-sized red lipsticks and I think that it is about time that I added one to my collection!

Overall:
I just want to mention that they do NOT accept cash. It is quite strange and I do not know the reason behind it. Also, they do not have any plastic bags. They will charge you about $2-$3 for a L'Oreal branded tote bag. I urge you to bring your own bag if you need to carry more than a handful of items out of the store! Also, I was disappointed that they show cased some NYX products on the displays but there were none to be found for purchase in-store!

This sale is by invite only and there is a limit on how much you are allowed to spend. There is a security guard who does a quick scan before you leave the building and if you have to use the bathroom before you go, you have to go back towards the entrance which is a weird layout in my opinion. Last thing before I go that I wanted to mention, it is the last week to visit the sale this week so if you are in the Markham area, check it out because you may have better luck than I did!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
