3 Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes & Swatches

Hey everyone! I was looking through my makeup collection the other day and realized that I actually had 3 of the Amazonian Clay Blushes from Tarte. I figured what a perfect topic for a blog post! I will be including swatches of each blush as well as giving you my honest thoughts on each shade.

Paaarty(1.5 g) -
I use this blush daily and it is a great every day blush. It isn't too pigmented and gives your cheeks a nice, soft flush. It's great to travel with or just to throw into your purse for touch-ups throughout the day as your blush certainly will fade as the day goes on. This was part of the Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift in 2017. You can buy this blush as a single, (the compact actually comes with a mirror in the larger size version,) on the Sephora website for $38 and you get 5.6 grams of product. It says that it is a radiant finish and the Amazonian Clay Blushes are long wearing as well as award-winning.

Unearthed (4.40 g) -
This blush was definitely more pigmented than I originally thought that it would be and the formula is the best out of the 3 in my opinion. It is soft, creamy and blendable. This was the blush that came in the Energy Noir Clay Palette. I wasn't able to find a single blush on the Sephora website in this exact shade but it is a gorgeous colour that is a pink/nude. This palette was a gift, it is no longer available and I do have an entire review that you can check out!

Unleashed (6 g) -
Out of the three, this was the lowest performing blush and it wasn't nearly as pigmented. It went on patchy and you had to dip in multiple times. This was the blush in the Rainforest After Dark Coloured Clay Eye & Cheek Palette which is no longer available, but it isn't sold as a single either. This is definitely a pink blush but goes on a little bit patchy onto the cheeks.

RealHer Play Book Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I had never even heard of this brand until a few days ago and wanted to play around with the different shades in the palette for my readers who want to see how they swatched.

Packaging & Shades
This is hard cardboard with a magnetic closure and the black material does get very dirty. You can wipe it off but it will continuously get shadow on it and it is hard to keep clean. It definitely reminds me of the NARS packaging. The shades are mostly shimmery and metallic. You will probably have shimmer on your lids no matter what and if you prefer matte palettes, then stay far away from this one. I can't use this palette for an entire look because there are no matte crease colours. The shades fall more into a neutral, brown range and the only real pop of colour is the shade Creative which is a metallic pink. The shades claim to be richly-pigmented and I would have to say that not all of them are but majority are. The colours are buildable and I found most of the shadows to be soft. Also, some of the pans are not glued into the palette very well and are loose.

  Swatches
The first three shades are similar and the first two are slightly different. The fourth shade swatched completely different to how it actually looks in the pan to my surprise. The shade after that looks almost duo chrome and reminds me of that gorgeous duo chrome shade in the Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette. The black shade swatched the worst and it is not an opaque black with one swatch. I actually had to go over it multiple times and I would actually use another black from another palette that I already own. I feel like these shadows are powdery and do have kick-up for the most part.

Where To Buy & Price
I found this online on FabFitFun, BoxyCharm and the RealHer website for $28 USD. Each shade works out to be just over $3.

Benefits, Claims, Wear Test & Final Thoughts
This is not a must have palette in my honest opinion, but there are some awesome shades that caught my eye and they performed decently. If you like shimmery and metallic shades, then give this palette a try. This would be a great starter palette or good for someone who doesn't have many eyeshadow palettes that loves shimmery shadows. It claims to be for all eye colours and I would have to agree because for instance, the pink as well as the purple/taupe shade would make my hazel eyes pop. It also claims to be for all skin tones but I would disagree with that because not all the shades would work on deeper skin tones and they could end up look ashy.

Also, I put this palette to the test and wore a few of the shades in the palette to a concert. The verdict was that despite packing on the shades, they faded significantly throughout the night and definitely failed that test. It looked like I never put on an inner corner shade and the other palette that I used on my crease held up much better than this one. My concert was only a few hours and I want to put emphasis on that I made sure to heavily pack on my lid colour. I also want to mention that I did not touch up the shadow throughout the night nor when I go home so it was a true wear test. Therefore in conclusion, it is not long wearing as the claim suggests. If you have more than a dozen palettes in your collection, you can definitely skip this one. It is also: paraben free, cruelty free, vegan, sulfate free and they use natural ingredients.

Testing 3 COVERGIRL Face & Eye Products

Hey everyone! I recently got my hands on 3 COVERGIRL products that I have never tried before and wanted to give you my thoughts on each one!

Lash Blast Volume Mascara in 800 Very Black (10 ml) -
I was definitely excited to try-out this mascara because my lashes are long but I am always on the hunt for great volumizing mascaras! It claims to give your lashes up to 10x the volume and the brush is designed to leave your lashes with a big, bold lash look. I do like the plastic applicator and even though it is fairly large, it coats all my lashes well! Some mascaras can be tricky for me to apply as I have small eyes, but this one wasn't nearly as messy as others that I have tried in the past. I also appreciated that the formula wasn't too wet which I heavily dislike in general, and my lashes didn't clump together. It separated my lashes well, gave me volume and this one is an overall winner folks! This is a non-waterproof formula and it held up well on my lashes throughout the day!

Outlast All-Day Matte Finishing Powder in 850 Medium to Deep (11 g) -
Let me just say that I am very dissapointed at the colour selection that COVERGIRL has to offer on this powder and there are only 3 shades. All of the shades are on the lighter side and I can wear the shade Medium to Deep right now which isn't acceptable. What about deeper skin tones? This is definitely powdery and smells like a cheap drugstore powder. It isn't anything special and it's just a standard, typical powder in my honest opinion that does what it is supposed to do. At the end of the day, my face looked cakey and I wasn't the biggest fan of how the powder wore on my skin throughout the day. This is supposed to be a matte finishing powder that is: oil free, lightweight, won't clog your pores, silky-smooth, helps control shine but I ended up looking greasy at the end of the day. Another thing that I didn't care for was the packaging as it felt very cheap and you want to be careful not to drop the compact because if you do, the plastic will break. The mirror is also pointless in my opinion because of how small it is and I will not be using it going forward. This is the old packaging.

Outlast All-Day Primer Makeup Wear Extender (30 ml) - It does have a scent to it that isn't too strong, but I am indifferent about it and the product is an opaque white. It is not too liquidy and not the consistency of a cream. It blends in well to the skin and it is not sticky. As you rub the product in, there is no white cast and it sinks into the skin seamlessly. My skin felt soft and smooth afterwards. It claims to be oil free, it helps your makeup look fresh all day and you only need a dime sized amount. It is not sticky nor tacky at all and did not feel greasy on my face. It also didn't ball up on my face. I do like the primer and I will continue to use it in the future. This is also the old packaging.

Wibo Lip Glosses Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I was in Poland a little while ago and when I was in the drugstore Rossman, I picked up a couple Wibo lip glosses to share.

Wibo & Background Information
Wibo was established in 1989 (before my time,) and they are the most popular brand when it comes to nail care in Poland. You can clearly see this in the photo that I took of Wibo at the drugstore. This is a very popular brand in Poland and it resonates with the youth there because of its affordable price tag. I wish I had picked up one of their setting sprays but I will have to purchase that next time I go back.

Swatches, Shades & Formula
These have a little bit of stickiness to them but aren't overly sticky. Of course these are glosses are appear more sheer in swatches. They both have glitter in them and the Spicy gloss has more glitter inside. They are comfortable to wear, they both smell great although they both smell differently. The Spicy Lip Gloss has chilli pepper extract inside which is meant to stimulate the lips and increase blood circulation. There are 19 shades in total for that range. For the Lip Sensation line, there are a total of 9 shades to choose from as the range is evidently smaller and the gloss is meant to be more hydrating. Both of my glosses say Nr 1 and that could be the shade number but I am not certain. They aren't marketed as long lasting but most glosses aren't anyway.

Price, Size & Where To Buy
They were very affordable and my total was just over 20 zloty for both glosses. This is a more affordable brand and I really like the packaging! They both have a shelf life of 6 months and the Lip Sensation gloss is 5 ml. As I previously mentioned, I purchased these glosses at Rossman in Warsaw for about 10 zloty a piece which is very cheap.

Would I Repurchase, How They Wore & The Applicator
I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase these glosses as they are very affordable and are super comfortable in the lips. I got a lot of compliments back home when I wore the spicy one and my only complaint is that I can't buy it in Canada that I know of. The applicator is the same on both glosses and there is a curve to it which definitely makes sense for an easy application of the gloss to your entire lips.

Seraphine Botanicals | Chia + Camellia Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I had never heard of this brand prior to writing this post so let's see how the Chia + Camellia Eyeshadow Palette performed!

Claims, Shade Range & Swatches
There are multiple claims on this palette including that it is: 100% natural, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, not tested on animals, vegan, GMO-free and gluten free. It is made without: mineral oil, parabens and phthalates. The shadows are formulated with kaolin clay as well as camellia and chia seed oil. These colours are feminine and girly but you can still create a smoky eye with these shadows.

There are 3 mattes and 6 shimmers. Some shimmers are more intense than others such as the top left in the first row which applied well with both a brush as well as my fingers. The top right in the first row was a fail for me and wasn't nearly as shimmery. The pink shade underneath the first shade that I spoke about, I added it to my lower lash line and it really didn't do much. The mattes were an all around fail for me as the two lighter shades in the palette (centre shade and one right underneath it,) didn't look like anything after I went in with different brushes 3 times (of each shade,) on my upper & natural crease. The deep brown shade on the right side in the bottom row was a little bit more pigmented than the other 2, but not by much and the shadow honestly looked muddy on my outer corner. The sixth shade (from the left) that I swatched was amongst one of the best shadows in the entire eyeshadow palette as that formula performed very well with lots of pigment. It was also very smooth and creamy. Keep in mind that I did finger swatch these quite heavily and I had to go over most of them several times.

Packaging, Where To Buy & Size
I am a fan of the packaging as it is small enough to travel with and I like the simplicity of it. I appreciate the size of the mirror because if I'm traveling, I do use the mirror in my palettes and compacts. It retails for $52 USD on their website and there isn't a ton of information about this palette on the Internet. I also gathered online that some people received this eyeshadow palette in various beauty box subscriptions. There is a net weight of 10 grams/0.35 oz and the product is distributed in Las Vegas Nevada. It is formulated in the UK and the packaging is made in China where they print the box with soy ink.

Is It Worth Adding To Your Makeup Collection?
Honestly, the mattes disappointed me and they were definitely powdery. I only liked 1 of the very shimmery shades and keeping a palette for only 1 shade is never a good idea. Despite this being a vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free palette, I would skip on it due to the performance of the eyeshadows. They take too long to work with, you end up using more product and the results are not even worth the hassle. This will be placed in my eyeshadow drawer but I will probably end up forgetting about it, not using it and then decluttering it to be very honest with you. The shadows faded throughout the day and blended out into almost nothing.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I have honestly been eyeing the Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette before it even launched and removed it once out of my cart. After doing some research on my own, I just had to purchase it because the shades will look stunning on my hazel eyes and there are so many fabulous possible colour combinations! I haven't been this excited about an eyeshadow palette in awhile and the packaging is right up my alley!

The Palette, Shade Names & Packaging
The names of the shadows are words and phrases that I actually use in my every day life. This palette honestly couldn't have been any better or any more fitting for me! My personal favourites are: Decadent, So Boujee, Holla For A Dolla and Money Bags. The packaging screamed my name and the dripping gold is everything! The gold part of the palette will get finger prints on it and you can easily wipe them away which isn't a deal breaker in my opinion as it is easy to clean. The packaging is sturdy and I would take them traveling with me because it won't occupy much space. Some shades can be doubled as a highlighter and I love a great multi-use palette!

Just like their Chocolate Soleil Bronzers and their previous Chocolate Bar Palettes, this one is no exception: they smell like chocolate!

The palette does come with a Glamour Guide and gives you step-by-step instructions on how to recreate 3 gorgeous eye looks using this palette.

Shade Range, Swatches & Formula
I do like the layout of these shadows and you can create so many different looks from an every day wearable look to a more night time, going out on the town look! You can use just this palette to create an entire look of you can use other palettes along with this one. You are getting 16 shades in total, 2 are in larger rectangular pans and 14 are smaller in size. These shadows are infused with real gold as well as cocoa powder and they claim to deliver pigmentation with one-swipe, full-coverage payoff.

I want to mention that for the swatches, I went over the finger swatches a maximum of 2 times and the shade Chocolate Gold was so pigmented that I only went over it while swatching it, once on my arm. Not only the metallic shades but also the matte shades were very creamy, soft and swatched like a dream! I had been hearing many people comment that this is one of Too Faced's better formulas as it is creamy, buttery, soft and blendable on the eyes. Just by finger swatching them initially, I agree with those claims and the formula did impress me! It is formulated without: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, gluten and it claims to be cruelty-free.

Top Row

Middle Row

 Bottom Row

Size, Price & Where To Buy
14 of the shadows weigh 0.03 oz/0.85 grams and the 2 larger pans weigh in at 0.07 oz/2 grams. I purchased mine on the Sephora website for $59 but you can also find it on the Too Faced website and at Ulta.
Update: It's now selling for $65 at Sephora.

Final Thoughts & Is It Worth The Money?
This is obviously a more high end palette and something that you may be thinking of splurging on. It may be early to say but I do think that this eyeshadow palette will be amongst my favourites of this year and I will be getting a lot of use out of it! It is definitely worth the splurge and it is perfect for those with hazel or green eyes to really get them to pop! This is getting displayed front and centre on my makeup vanity!

Amrezy Highlighter - Anastasia Beverly Hills | Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I have been eyeing this gorgeous highlighter for quite some time now and when Sephora was having their VIB Sale, I had to act fast! Today I'll be sharing swatches of the Amrezy Highlighter and giving my honest review.

What's It About, Claims & Packaging
This is a collaboration between Anastasia Beverly Hills and the Instagram beauty herself, Amrezy aka Amra Olevic. This highlighter claims to be an illuminating powder with an ultra-smooth formula and a radiant finish. It also claims that it's a universal shade meant for highlighting the face, eyes and body. You can use the formula wet or dry and or you can even mix it with an oil for an all-over glow. It comes with a nice size mirror and the packaging is definitely luxurious. The theme is rose gold and black with stars on the front of the highlighter packaging. There is a rose gold button that you need to press to be able to open the compact. The stars are in rose gold as well as the names of the people involved in the collaboration and if you flip the compact over, the bottom is also in rose gold covered with a sticker with some more information. I think that most of the claims made are true but using this highlight shade on a deep skin tone would make them look ashy.

Where To Buy, Price & Size
I purchased mine during the Sephora VIB Sale and it retails for $36 for 9 grams of product or 0.31 oz. This is an individual highlighter that is limited edition. It's free from: parabens, sulfates and phthalates. It's also cruelty-free and made in Italy but distributed in the USA.

How It Performed, Swatches & Is It Worth The Money?
It's a light gold that looks gorgeous when the sun hits it! I'm on the more fair side right now but I can definitely wear this when I have more of a tan. Honestly, I encourage you to swatch it in store because I took dozens of photos but it doesn't do the product enough justice. Also, 9 grams for a highlighter is a lot of product that will last you quite some time and I would know because I'm a highlighter junkie! The ColourPop Super Shock Cheek has 4.2 grams, Wet N Wild Precious Petals has 5.4 grams and MAC Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Luna Luster has 6.5 grams of product. This is a unique highlighter from the pattern of the actual product itself to how it looks applied on the skin. It's not a glittery highlighter.

Like I previously mentioned, it's a limited edition product so if you are even thinking of trying this out, now is the time to do so and if you love this highlighter, buy a back-up or two while they're still available because once they are gone, that's it! I've really been enjoying using mine lately and it's been sitting front and centre on my vanity! This is the perfect summer highlighter than you can rock just about anywhere!
