My 5 Most Used Eyeshadow Palettes | Affordable & High End

Hey everyone! Many of us have too many palettes in our collection or palettes that have nice packaging, but we never use them. I wanted to share with you my top 5 eyeshadow palettes (both high end and affordable,) that I have used many times as well as even travelled with that I think are worth every penny!

1. Urban Decay Naked Palette - I have had this palette for quite some time now and I still find myself using it! I have packed this in my carry-on many times and there is a great shade range! It retails for $66 CAD on the Sephora web site along with the other palettes in the series with 12 eyeshadow pans. This is the first edition you can honestly do so many different looks with this one palette!

2. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - I purchased mine when I was in Hollywood and I have hit pan on 3 of the shades! I love that there is a carbon black shade called 'Crave' and that there is one shimmery shade in the palette named 'Venus.' There are two matte shades that you can use all over the lid and they also give you a choice of two matte crease colours. It retails for $36 CAD and you can purchase it at Sephora.

3. Carli Bybel 14 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette - I do have an entire blog post on this where I reviewed this palette and I constantly find myself reaching for this lovely palette! It has 14 eyeshadows and 4 beautiful highlighters that I use in rotation! I packed this with me on vacation several times and it has a nice sized mirror! The shades are great for every skin tone and I can use this when I am on the more fair side or even when I am more tanned. It is very affordable as it retails for $14.50 USD on the BH Cosmetics web site and keep in mind that this is limited edition. Once all the palettes are sold out, there are no more being made and you will have to purchase it on eBay or Amazon.

4. BH Cosmetics Neutral Eyes 28 Colour Eyeshadow Palette - This is also another affordable palette that is sold for $12 USD on the BH Cosmetics web site. As you can probably tell already, I love neutral shades and these pans are quite large which is another bonus! The pans are rather pigmented and you get 28 shades which are perfect to create a plethora of different looks! I purchased this a little over 2 years now and I showed it in my Black Friday + Cyber Monday Collective Haul post.

5. Morphe 35O Eyeshadow Palette - I purchased the palette with both shimmers and mattes because I didn't want a palette that just had one or the other - I wanted both! I am very happy with this palette and I know that it was very hyped up. I say that it does live up to its hype and if you love a great warm toned palette, this one is definitely for you! I purchased mine for $22.99 USD on the Morphe web site. I did haul this in a past blog post where I showed you what items I purchased when I received my very first order online from Morphe.

Let me know in the comments what your most used palettes are!

Tricky Hair | 3D Mink Eyelashes

Hey everyone! Since it is Thanksgiving here in Canada, I wanted to wear my Mink Lashes by Tricky Hair that will compliment any fall look!

I received many compliments when I wore them out and they were definitely the star of the show!

Packaging
I absolutely love the packaging that the mink lashes come in! The black and pink looks great together! The polka dots add a nice touch and to open up the box that the lashes come in, you simply pull the two parts on the top outwards. I also appreciated that it didn't come in that plastic packaging that other brands house their lashes in. This is a very sturdy box and like I mentioned, you literally open up the box to get to the lashes and there is no slide out exterior cover that some of you may be used to. It is a very practical and well thought-out design!

The Lashes
These lashes are made with 100% Mink Fur. They are very soft and they are long in length which I absolutely love! They can also be worn for a night out with the girls, on a bride that would like a more dramatic lash or if you have a special upcoming event! I have small eyes in general and every single lash that I buy (regardless of the brand,) I do have to cut. I didn't have to trim much off these lashes but underneath is a photo of the lashes outside the box before I cut them. If you are wondering, they are very comfortable to wear, they are very lightweight (they are not heavy & do not weigh down your lids,) and they are BY FAR my favourite pair of lashes that I currently own! They are more full towards the band and they feather out towards the end giving a more dramatic look. I would estimate that they would be good for about 20-25 uses if you take care of them.

Before & After

You can see from the photos above that I have sparse lashes that are long in length. I look for a lash that gives me volume and that is exactly what these mink eyelashes gave me! I couldn't be happier and you can see for yourself down below the difference that it made.

Before

After

The Eye Look

To achieve the eye look, I used the Morphe 350 Palette. I have highlighted which shades that I used on my eyes. The shimmery shade that is in the top row and third from the left, I used that all over my lid. The gorgeous brown shade was used in my lower crease. The orange shade directly to the right of the brown was used in my upper crease. Then I went in with the shade underneath the orange that is circled in black in my outer-v. To go underneath my lower lashes, I used a mixture of the three shades to the right of the palette. To add some shimmer in my inner corners and for my brow bone highlight, I went in with my trusty Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette with Venus. In-between my crease colours and brow bone highlight, I used Foxy in that same palette as a transitional shade.

What I Used On My Lips:
- ColourPop Lippie Pencil in Brink
- Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie
- Revlon Colourburst Lip Gloss in Bordeaux

On my lips, I used three different products and definitely took advantage of a more glossy lip since that is coming back after the matte lips took over for a while and I couldn't be happier!

Most Used & Favourite Makeup Brushes & Tools

Hey everyone! I have used many brushes and makeup tools over the years. I felt that it was time for me to write a blog post about all of my favourites and what has been working for me!

Brushes
ELF Studio Kabuki Face Brush - I have owned this brush for many years and it has lasted many washes. There are many uses for this brush as you can apply powder, bronzer or many other things with it. How I like to use it is to blend out my blush, highlight and bronzer/contour with it.

Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush - I purchased mine in a trio at Wal-Mart awhile ago and I adore this brush! I especially like it to apply highlighter onto my cheekbones, cupids bow, chin and right above my eyebrows. I feel that it is the perfect size for me and it does a lot of the work for you.

The Classic Shadow Brush (#6) in the 11 piece Pink-A-Dot Brush Set by BH Cosmetics - I love this for packing on colour onto my lids. It is a flat shader brush and I love the fun pink polka dots on the black brush handle!

BH Cosmetics #4 Dome Fluffy Brush - Unfortunately, I couldn't find this set on the web site but I love how soft this brush is! It is my go-to brush for apply blush onto the apples of my cheeks!

Sigma Large Angled Contour Brush F40 - This is a brush (pictured above,) that I have been using for many years for bronzing up my face. I feel like it is perfect for applying bronzer to any face shape really.

EcoTools Domed Bronzer Brush - I found about this brush a while back from the YouTuber Love MelisaMichelle. I bought mine at Wal-Mart and I found it pretty hard to come across. I suggest that if you see it in stores, to pick it up right away! I love this for setting my face with powder on days that I am not baking and need to set my foundation & concealer. You can use it to apply bronzer but I like to use it as a powder brush. The bristles are densely packed and the head of the brush is rounded. The handle is made out of sustainable bamboo, the ferrule is recycled aluminum and they use cruelty-free synthetic bristles.

Morphe E46 Mini Angled Buffer Brush - I like using to this brush to: clean up underneath my contour and bronzer, to set the under eye area and to press powder into the sides of my nose. I feel like I need to buy another one of these brushes because it works so well!

Sigma Tapered Blending Brush E40 - This is by far my favourite blending brush in my crease area when I do not want something defined or precise. If I am not depositing a specific colour in a certain place and just want to blend away, I automatically reach for this! It is has been my favourite for years and will be hard to find another blending brush that I like more than this one.

BH Cosmetics Angled Brush #10 - This is from the same set as the domed fluffy brush that I had previously mentioned and I love using this on my brows. I use this to map out my brows when I am using the Brow Pow Eyebrow Powder in Dark Brown from The Balm.

Sigma Small Angle Brush E65 - I use this brush to apply the gel stain from IT Cosmetics onto my brows. I also use it when I apply the Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown. It is more stiff than the other angled brush and works very well for this purpose.

Eco Luxe 10 Piece Brush Set from BH Cosmetics - This flat shadow brush is smaller in size and I always use it to apply shimmer to my inner corners as well as under the brow bone. It is the perfect size to apply product to smaller areas. I have even used it to apply highlighter down the bridge of my nose!

Tools

Tweezerman Slant Tweezers - I have owned mine for a few years now and the writing has actually rubbed off. These tweezers are very easy to use and the tip is stainless steel. The slanted shape of the tip makes it easy for removing multiple hairs at once. I have used many different brands as well as styles of tweezers and I can say that these are the best! I purchased mine at Sephora. The blades are sharp yet ultra thin and I love the ergonomic design!

Tweezerman Brow Shaping Scissors - I bought mine at Sally’s Beauty Supply and these are amazing! I don’t know what I was doing without these before! It makes trimming your brows very easy and it is stainless steel.

MAC Small Pencil Sharpener - I have owned this sharpener for over 10 years and it is by far my favourite. It perfectly sharpeners all my pencils (not just MAC pencils,) and it is very easy to empty out as well as clean.

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler - I have tried a wide range of curlers and this makes my lashes look incredible! I had an ELF eyelash curler for years before that fell apart on me (literally.) This is what I reach for on a regular basis and I do not need to apply much pressure to give my lashes that perfect curl.

beautyblender pro - I absolutely love this sponge because it is bouncy and blends out creams as well as liquids beautifully. I even use this sponge to apply powders when I decide to bake my face.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Morphe Haul + A Mascara

Hey everyone! I recently went on the Morphe web site because I was finally convinced that I wanted to buy the highly talked about 350 Palette. There are a great range of colours which includes some gorgeous warm shades. As you can tell by the swatches, each shadow is highly pigmented. The only thing that I noticed when s watching the matte shades is that I had to pick up more product to get that opacity that I wanted. I do wish the palette was smaller in size because it is not ideal to travel with. Other than that, I am glad that I did pick-up this palette.

I finger swatched the last three shades on the right in the palette in the photo below.

I had never ordered from the Morphe web site before and I didn’t know that you could purchase other brands! After browsing the web site, I came across Jeffree Star’s Lip Scrubs and knew I had to buy one once I seen that it came in Pumpkin Spice Latte. It smells incredible and will be perfect for getting soft lips in fall! The packaging is gorgeous and you get 30 grams of product which is 1 oz. It is 5 grams more than the lip scrubs at Lush which only contain 25 grams. They are both sugar based lip scrubs.

There is a great range of brushes on the web site to choose from and I knew right away that I wanted a smaller brush for contouring. I bought the E46 Mini Angled Buffer Brush which is soft and the perfect size! I haven’t tried it on my face yet but it seems promising! The second brush that I purchased happens to be one of Jaclyn Hill’s favourites which is the M433 Pro Firm Blending Fluff. It is fluffy and rounded - just what I had wanted! A girl can never have enough blending brushes!

I did order the Morphe Concealer in Beige. I originally wanted a lighter shade but they were sold out so I settled on buying a slightly darker shade. I must say that I am not impressed with the formula. I don’t know if I got a bad batch, but you can tell from the photo that mine is clumpy, chunky and not appealing whatsoever. It is a thicker concealer and does blend out well. I can make this colour work but there is a lot of pink/peach undertones to it. It was only $5 USD and I am almost out of my other concealer so I needed something to replace it.

Separate from my Morphe order, I went to Wal-Mart a few days ago and wanted to share with you this mascara that I came across. It is from the Flower Line created by Drew Barrymore. I couldn’t find any information online if they are discontinuing the line or not because at Wal-Mart, the entire line was on clearance and there was barely anything left. I was tempted to purchase an eyeshadow quad but I had to refrain from doing so because I just bought the Morphe 350 palette. I digress, anyway, I got the Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara that has three different brush heads.

It claims to lengthen, curl and add thickness to your lashes. Each brush head does something different and if you use all three brush heads on your lashes, then you will receive all three benefits. You just twist the black part on the handle to get the specific brush head you want, coat your lashes generously and you are left with beautiful customizable lashes! I purchased mine in the shade Intense Black and I only paid $4.50 for this mascara.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
