Anastasia Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I am happy to give you my honest and unbiased review on the Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette by Anastasia! I have been playing around with the shades for a little bit now and I'm here to give you my opinion on it.

Shade Range & Application Tips
In total, you are receiving 14 shades (11 matte, 3 metallic shadows,) and there are some nice berry tones to choose from. There are some shades that are more powdery than others and ones that have more fallout than others, just remember to tap the excess off your brush! They blend out easily on the eyes and you don't loose too much product when you are blending out a shade.

Swatches & Packaging
One of the very first thing that I noticed was how buttery, smooth and soft these shades were! My instant favourites were: Love Letter, Venetian Red, Realgar, Antique Bronze and Primavera. The exterior packaging has a soft, velvety feel to it but it will undoubtedly get dirty sooner rather than later. I took the photo of the swatches outside in natural daylight and have not adjusted the colour balance at all.

Price Point & Where To Buy
You can either purchase this palette for $55 CAD on the Sephora website or on the Anastasia site and it retails for $42 USD. You are also getting a dual-ended brush that comes with this palette that is pretty good quality. Her brushes are not cheap and this is a nice extra included upon purchase of the eyeshadow palette. I tried out the brush and the side with the darker hairs shedded like crazy on me! I had to stop using it but the other side with the dark to light hairs worked really well!

Is It Worth The Hype?
Most of us have heard people raving about this eyeshadow palette non-stop for many months. After using it a few times and playing around with the different shades, I have reached the conclusion that yes, it definitely is worth the money. You can create a wide variety of looks with this one palette and you can even take a daytime look and turn it into a night look. There are lots of warm shades and you can either create a subtle look or take it up a notch for a more dramatic look.

Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I have been trying to get my hands on the Moonchild Glow Kit for nearly a year and I am so excited to share this product with my readers! I was instantly draw to these unique and gorgeous shades. You can really do so much with them and Anastasia has never done me wrong!

Overview & Layout vs. Nicole Guerriero's Glow Kit
This palette is much smaller than the Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit and each pan is 4.2 g in the Moonchild Palette compared to 4.5 g in Nicole's palette. The pans in this Glow Kit are square and they are circular in her palette. The Moonchild Glow Kit font is Holographic which is the same on Nicole's Glow Kit

Shade Range & Packaging
Some of the shades may look similar in the pan but when you swatch each one, they are definitely different from one another. I feel like Lucky Clover is very unique because you don't really see any green highlighters on the market. The packaging is very lightweight and it is made out of hard cardboard with a magnetic closure.

Swatches & How To Apply
These are all very pigmented and they are buildable depending on how strong of a highlight you are going for. My favourite method of application is to dip my finger directly into the pan and then apply it generously over the high points of my face. I then use my makeup sponge to blend everything out seamlessly. I originally tried using a duo fibre brush but that wasn't my favourite way to deposit the highlighter onto my face.

Price & Where To Buy
You can either purchase yours on the Sephora web site or the Anastasia Beverly Hills site. It retails for $40 USD or $52 CAD. Aforementioned, it did take quite some time for this palette to come to Canada and I'm just glad that I was able to get my hands on it!

Final Thoughts
You can have a lot of fun with this palette and it is definitely the most fun palette in my collection! Lucky Clover will be absolutely perfect to use on St.Patrick's Day and it will be travelling with me on my trip that I am taking in the fall due to it's compact size. These fun, metallic highlighters do not look crazy on the skin and you really only see the actual colour of the highlighter when the sun reflects that shade on your skin.

12 Essential Makeup Must-Haves

Hey everyone! There is a lot of makeup currently on the market and I wanted to share with you 12 items that are needed in your makeup repertoire. Of course, you can always substitute certain items for others and you don't have to use the exact brands that are shown if you don't want to. I just want to show you the types of products that I find myself reaching for most often on a day-to-day basis.

Items Needed:
ELF Makeup Mist & Set
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 15 Fair
COVERGIRL TruBlend Liquid Foundation in L5
MAC Studio CareBlend Pressed Powder in Light
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer in Medium/Deep
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Lunch Money
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown
Maybelline Matte Lipstick in #665 in Lust For Blush
COVERGIRL So Lashy! Blast PRO Mascara in Extreme Black
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
beauty blender pro Sponge
Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens

The ELF Makeup Mist & Set can double for a primer as well as a setting spray. The Maybelline lipstick can be used both on the lips as well as on the cheeks for a nice blush colour. You can use the bronzer in your crease and the ColourPop highlighter can be used on the lids to give the illusion of a shimmery eyeshadow. The blotting sheets from Boscia can be used to keep your oils in-check throughout the day and you can just add it into your purse or clutch.
