Hey everyone! Spring is finally here and let's see which products I finished up that I loved or hated for the month of April!
Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel (15 ml) - This product definitely intrigued me the first time that I came across it. Basically, you want to start with dry skin and apply the product onto your face. Next, you will want to go in with circular motions to remove the dead skin off your face and rinse everything away. It will leave you with a layer of fresh, soft skin and I used it once a week. It is expensive for the full size as you get 100 ml for $60 but it is a great product to use. On my old domain I have a post called: A Potential Dupe for the Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel that is one of my most read blog posts that you should go and check out!
Clarins Daily Energizer Cream (30 ml) - I really enjoyed using this particular product as it made my skin smooth and it felt good applying it onto my skin. I did not get the gel-cream and this is definitely one of my favourite moisturizers that I have ever tried out. If you have fake nails, this won’t be ideal for you and I recommend that you pick up a small tool to get the actual product out of the jar because it does cling onto the sides. I really like creams that come in jars with a removable top and the orange colour brightens up my vanity! I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase this item again in the future as it works great as a day cream. I do have an entire dedicated review on this particular cream by Clarins that you should check out!
Update: Pretty sure that it has been discontinued.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 60 (88 ml) - I know that there’s still product left in my tube but I recently check the expiration date and it expired last year in the month of August. I’m not taking any chances and getting rid of it. I actually realized it was expired when I was filming my Beauty Products That I Just Can’t Go Through! video. I like to mix it into my moisturizer before I leave the house and start my day. I enjoyed using it and it does smell like sunscreen but the scent isn’t too overpowering unlike other products on the market. It isn’t the most lightweight feeling sunscreen on the market and I also want to mention that I have the old packaging. I do have a review on this products and I actually list many facts in my blog post called: Why You Should Apply Sunscreen On Your Face.
Volcanic Ash Nose Strips (7 count) - Personally, I prefer the Volcanic Ash Nose Strips to the Aloe Nose Strips from The Face Shop but that’s just personal preference as they both do the job. You can check out my review where I talk about both kinds in a blog post. This is actually my last box in my stash and I’m thinking of either going back to my Biore Nose Strips or trying out something new for my next purchase of pore strips!
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask in Green Tea (20 ml) - This mask was soaked in essence and not lotion. It didn’t smell like green tea but it had a very pleasant scent to it. I found this sheet mask to be very relaxing and it fit comfortably on the face. I would definitely repurchase this one again in the future! I have a blog post titled: Testing Out 5 Innisfree It's Real Sheet Masks | Review where you can see which ones were my favourite!
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask in Bija (20 ml) - I had never heard of this ingredient but was intrigued to try-out this sheet mask nonetheless. Bija is apparently known for their soothing properties and this mask felt very cooling on my face. It was dripping (literally,) in essence and I did notice a scent that I can’t quite put my finger on. This is supposed to help your skin with various problems that it might have and it is also meant for moisturizing your face. I really enjoyed using it and I would use it again!
Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask in Acai Berry (20 ml) - This mask was soaked in lotion which I did not like. I also felt indifferent about the scent. The main purpose of the mask is to help the skin appear firmer and smoother. Overall, I didn’t care for this one and I wouldn’t repurchase it in the future.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrogel Mask (30 g) - I really enjoyed using this mask and although it can get messy, it’s totally worth it! It’s a hydrogel mask that didn’t slip off on me when I walked around for a bit and it comes in two parts for easy application. It smells just like the other products from the Hydro Boost line which I already am a fan of and I’d repurchase this again in the future without any hesitation! Check out my post called: 2 Neutrogena Hydrogel Masks | Review to get all the details on these masks!
Neutrogena Deep Clean Hydrogel Mask (30 g) - I found this mask to be more cooling than the other one but they both work amazing when applied onto the face! This one had a different scent than the other one but they both smelled great! This one had a green tint to it and what I like about these masks is that even though they’re dripping in essence and can be on the messier side, you can actually scoop your hand into the packet to put that essence down your neck, chest and even put some onto your arms while you’re at it! These are some of my new favourite masks from the drugstore and you should stock-up when they go on sale!
BIC Soleil Razors (4 count) - I have been using these razors for many years now and they are definitely my favourite disposable razors on the market. I purchase mine from Walmart for a few dollars and I go through about one each month. You can’t beat the price and I love the bright, fun colours on the handles!
Bath & Body Works
Nourishing Hand Soap with Honey Butter in Salted Honey & Vanilla (236 ml) - This hand soap smelled great as it had a very light fragrance to it and it felt amazing on the hands! It is definitely nourishing and I really like the packaging! The notes include: salted butterscotch, creamy vanilla and honey.
Car Fragrance Refill in Mango Dragonfruit (6 ml) - This scent smells fruity and tropical to me. I really enjoy using it in both Spring as well as Summer! It always puts me in a great mood!
Irresistibles Bio Organics Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil (375 g) - I have been using coconut oil on my hair for many years now and I love seeing the results! My hair becomes more shiny and softer after using it! I do have an entire blog post on: The Benefits of Using Coconut Oil that I recommend you check out!
Garnier Whole Blends Avocado Oil & Shea Butter Extract Nourishing Shampoo (370 ml) - I really liked using this shampoo and it definitely made my hair more soft as well as shinier. I would repurchase this in a heartbeat as it is very affordable at the drugstore and I have an entire dedicated blog post on this product that you can check out!
The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream (50 ml) - I honestly didn’t expect to like this product as much as I did! I do love The Body Shop’s regular Vitamin E Cream as I always apply it on my fresh tattoos as well as my scars to help with the healing process. I looked forward to using this product every single night and I already have a full size jar of their Vitamin E cream in my drawer! This product actually came free with my order and I have an entire dedicated review on it.
Olay Regenerist Whip Face Moisturizer (0.5 ml x 7) - I received a few of these as samples and at first when I was reading the card that came with it, I was confused if it was a primer or a facial moisturizer. Anyway, I figured it out and the texture is definitely ‘light as air’ which it says on the card. It did not feel greasy or sticky on my skin, absorbed quickly as it claims to transform from cream to liquid on your skin to absorb instantly into the skin. Your face will look smooth with a matte finish and it even goes as far to claim that it is the perfect primer to help makeup stay throughout the day. I wouldn’t say that it gave my skin a matte finish and I would never use this as a primer for my makeup, but it did make my skin look smooth. They use Active Rush Technology which holds and quickly releases 1000x its weight in hydration and active ingredients. Mine does not have SPF but at the bottom, it says that it is available with SPF. A full size jar of this will run you $40 if you buy it from Walmart and you are getting 50 ml of product. I’m not completely sold on it but I don’t dislike this product either; I’m indifferent.
Hair
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Brighter Subtle Lightening Shampoo (8.3 ml x 3) - I have used the deepening version of this exact same product before and realized that I had 3 of the lightening shampoos. I decided to start using them since I had just run out of my everyday shampoo. My personal preference is the deepening shampoo if I were to compare the two but this one was good too. You can view my thoughts on the deepening shampoo by John Frieda because I actually featured that product in my November Empties | 2017.
Until next time,
