Hey everyone! Welcome back to another round of empties and today I will be sharing all of the products that I used up for the month of November!
Face
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II (7 ml x 2) - I purchased this at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale on a whim without knowing anything about it prior to my purchase. Although I do love their eye cream from the same line, the serum was just alright in my opinion. It didn’t do anything groundbreaking and I didn’t see a huge difference in my skin after using it.
The Face Shop - Jeju Volcanic Lava Volcanic Ash Nose Strips (7 count) - I prefer these to the Aloe Nose Strips but that is just my personal preference. These do a great job at removing all my white heads and I do have an entire blog post dedicated to testing 3 different product from The Face Shop.
Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater (59 ml/2 fl oz) - This is a travel size product that I picked up when I was in the USA and you can check out my entire review on it. I really like the spray on this and it gives such a fine mist. I had been hearing about this for quite some time and I am glad to have been able to say that I have tried it! Now I definitely need to go back to Ulta to replenish my stock and I also want to try-out the cucumber scented one.
M. Asam Vino Gold One Week Power Beauty Treatment - I do have an entire review on this and I have to say that I was definitely impressed! It left my skin soft, smooth and helped make my skin more radiant. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this treatment again in the future!
Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap (30 ml) - I purchased this from the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale and I also featured it in my Disappointing Products | Part 4 video. This cleanser dried out my skin and I really did not like it.
Etude House Blueberry Sheet Mask - This specific mask is meant for firming and giving the skin a radiant look. This didn’t smell like blueberries to me and this mask was dripping with essence (literally,) that I had to apply the leftover product to my entire arms. It is rather messy and the sheet is very thin - the thinnest sheet mask that I have ever used. It isn’t too large either which I appreciated because some face masks are just way too big for my face. This is a 0.2mm air sheet mask actually and after 1-2 minutes on my face, it wasn’t going anywhere. This was nice to use but it isn’t a must-have in my opinion.
Etude House Manuka Honey Sheet Mask - This definitely didn’t smell like Manuka honey to me but this delivers rich moisturization to the face. Again, this is an air mask and it is very thin. You need to be careful when pulling it apart, not to rip the sheet mask. Overall, this was nice to use but it isn’t amongst my favourites.
Etude House Strawberry Sheet Mask - This didn’t smell at all like strawberries to me and this particular mask was literally dripping essence. It made it a little bit harder to apply but once it was on and it felt colder than my other masks for some unknown reason. This claims to brighten and revitalize your skin. Overall, I am not the biggest fan of Etude House sheet masks personally, but by no means are they bad, it comes down to personal preference.
May Island Red Ginseng Face Mask - This sheet mask I found to be: thicker, smaller on the face and more fragranced overall. This didn’t have a bad scent to it and I found it to be rather unique. The red ginseng is for moisturizing purposes and helps with the elasticity of the skin. They use fresh red ginseng extract in the formula and this mask is made in Korea. It was very comfortable to wear and I originally bought it because the main ingredient seemed rather unique to me. My face drank up this sheet mask and my face looked great afterwards!
Tony Moly I’m Real Avocado Mask Sheet - I have seen Tony Moly face masks everywhere and have always been intrigued to try them out. I finally have and I want to say that the moment I pulled mine out of the packaging, I knew they were going to be amongst my favourites. The sheet mask isn’t too big and isn’t too small - it is just the right size. It isn’t too thin or too thick. It wasn’t dripping essence as I pulled it out but it was saturated enough that I couldn’t still apply some essence to my chest as well as my neck. It smelled very nice but wasn’t too fragranced. This particular sheet mask is meant for nourishing the skin and my face drank up this up! I left mine on for 20 minutes and I absolutely loved it! My face felt more firm after just 1 use. I can’t wait to try the other ones that I currently have in my drawer!
GLAMGLOW POWERMUD DUALCLEANSE TREATMENT (50 g) - This wasn’t my favourite GLAMGLOW mask that I have used but it wasn’t bad either. I much prefer the FLASHMUD mask as that one is for brightening the skin and I do have an entire comparison post on these two masks. This is a mud to oil mask and it helps to detox your face. It also exfoliates your face too which is awesome. My skin felt soft and refreshed after using it. I did purchase mine at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale for $30 CAD.
Aveda Hand Relief Moisturizing Creme (40 ml) - This is another product that I purchased from the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale. This was in the $4 bin and I go through hand cream quite regularly therefore, I couldn’t pass up on this great deal. Overall, this made my hands very soft and didn’t irritate my psoriasis. There is a light scent to it and the cream is rather thick. It doesn’t absorb into your skin right away and I suggest using it before bed. It is also great for putting in your purse.
Bath & Body Works
Gentle Foaming Hand Soap with Coconut Oil in Birchwood & Juniper (259 ml) - This scent is described as: ‘a woodsy blend of birchwood, juniper berries and pink pepper.’ This is a musky, woodsy scent in my option and I absolutely love it! It is definitely unisex and the coconut oil helps condition the hands especially in the upcoming colder months!
Vanilla Coconut Gentle Foaming Hand Soap with Coconut Oil (259 ml) - This really had the perfect amount of both vanilla as well as coconut. The description reads: ‘whipped vanilla, peach blossom and warm coconut.’ This was a great soap to have in the bathroom and I like a few other scents from this range!
ScentPortable Car Fragrance Refill in Bergamot - I really enjoyed the scent of this as it is more of a musky, warm scent. It is definitely perfect to put in the car during Fall!
Garnier Fructis Marvelous Oil (150 ml) - I actually purchased this awhile ago at a warehouse sale and I believe that they have redesigned the bottle as well as changed some of the ingredients inside. I lost the clear cap a long time ago and his oil is best suited for those with: dry, damaged hair. This claims to: nourish hair and to give it supreme shine. This is a 5 action hair elixir and there are both Brazilnut Oil and Cupuaçu inside the formula. I took this to various places when I went traveling and I did enjoy using it. It helped my hair with shine as well as fly-aways. This is sold at the drugstore and is very affordable.
Miscellaneous
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - This came from a two pack and this is my third sponge that I have gone through. It is definitely more affordable than the beauty blender and I have an entire review on it that you can check out. You can also purchase them at Walmart, Ulta or Rexall if you live in Canada.
Equate Quilted Pads (100 count) - I love to use this on a daily basis and I purchase mine from Walmart. I do have an entire dedicated post comparing these to the Shiseido Facial Cotton.
BIC Soleil Sensitive Skin Razors (4 count) - These are my go-to razors that I have been using for years and they are very affordable as well as disposable. I purchase mine at Walmart and you really can’t go wrong using these.
Promo/Samples - Face
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream (7 ml x 3) - I kept getting this as a sample with my Forever 21 purchases and accumulated quite a few of them. I finally decided to put them to good use and I felt like the more product that you used on your face, the more hydrating that it would feel. It was especially nice to use it during night time. There is hyaluronic acid inside and I do like the consistency of this product. It is also oil-free and non-comedogenic.
Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer (10 ml) - This has echinacea greenenvy honey, triple hyaluronic acid complex and cupuaçu butter beads which are supposed to keep the skin smooth as well as soft for the entire day. It is suited for all skin types included sensitive ones and it claims to: hydrate to eliminate dryness, help with an uneven skin tone and also help will dullness as well as an uneven texture. The beads just melt into the skin and you do not have to pick them off. There is a unique scent to it but it isn’t highly fragranced at all. This didn’t do anything out of the ordinary for my skin and I tended to use it at night with my face oil. It isn’t amongst my favourite but I didn’t dislike it. I don’t have: dry, dull or uneven skin so people will these skin issues could benefit way more from this moisturizer! I received this as a sample from my online Sephora order.
Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer in Neutral (1.5 ml) - I already knew that this shade was going to be too dark for my complexion right now, but I still wanted to try-out the formula. I was very impressed and when I applied some product underneath my eye area using my fingers, it blended out effortlessly as well as seamlessly! I have mentioned that Clinique is hit and miss for me for I would actually like to purchase this product in my correct shade to play with it some more. I received this as a sample with my online purchase from Sephora.
Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum Spray (1.5 ml) - I received this as a free sample in the mail and it is a great everyday scent. It has notes of: wild berries, creamy vanilla and bright jasmine. I wouldn’t rush out to purchase a full size of this scent any time soon, but the bottle is gorgeous!
Hair
Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo (10 ml) - This shampoo smelled great in the shower and made my hair feel very soft. I am definitely impressed with this line!
Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Moisture Renewal Deep Conditioner (10 ml) - This came as a sample in the Chatelaine magazine and let me tell you that it smells incredible! It actually lingered in my hair for a few days after applying the mask as it was stronger than my Garnier shampoo that I am currently using. This is suited for extra dry hair and you are supposed to apply this from tips to roots. It says to leave on for 3 minutes but I left it on overnight. I am planning to purchase this once I run out of my other hair conditioners!
Farmona Herbal Care Nettle Shampoo (7 ml) - I received this as a sample at the Polish store that I go to and I love the clean scent of this shampoo. It lathers really well and this is targeted to those who have oily hair. They use: natural plant ingredients, nettle leaves extract and wheat proteins. There are no: parabens, dyes, ethyl alcohol or paraffin oil inside the formula. It’s made in Krakow for those wondering and it is a coconut-based shampoo.
Farmona Herbal Care Horsetail Shampoo (7 ml) - This is targeted to those with very damaged hair. This claims to: strengthen, moisturize, nourish and regenerate hair. The results claim to leave you with: beautiful, strong hair, increased thickness, more volume, increased resistance to damage, less split ends and reduced fragility of the hair. This is a coconut based shampoo and it smells stronger than the other one but I enjoyed using it in the shower!
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper Colour Deepening Shampoo (8.3 ml x 3) - I was sent these in the mail and you get quite a lot of product in the sample pack which was more than enough for my long hair. It does get a little bit messy in the shower so be warned because the shampoo has colour to it. This particular item is supposed to gradually infuses deep rich colour and deepens the hair. It is formulated with cocoa and evening primrose oil. It did have a nice scent to it but I wasn’t too crazy over this product to purchase it ultimately.
Until next time,
STAY CLASSY
