Sephora Black Friday Haul 2016

Hey everyone! Black Friday was on November 25th this year and I know this haul is going up late, but better late than never right? I made 2 orders on the Sephora web site because they had some really great deals! I was able to preview the sale on the app which was very helpful and it ultimately helped me decide on what to buy!

What I Purchased:

Murad - Ultimate Hydration Duo ($20 CAD) - It says on the box that you are getting a $26 value for only $20. This is a great way to try-out the brand before committing to the full sized version of a particular product. I have heard rave reviews about this brand and wanted to try-it out for myself!

Ole Henriksen - Try Us, Love Us! On-the-Glow Essentials ($18 CAD) - This bag has a $35 CAD value and you get three great products! These items are great to travel with and I am excited to try-out this brand as I have been hearing a lot of great things recently! I have only tried out samples from Sephora in the past from the Ole Henriksen brand.

Boscia - Pink Peppermint Blotting Linens ($6 CAD) - I have purchased their blotting sheets in the past and they usually retail for $13 CAD. This was less than half the price and I had to take advantage of this great bargain! The packaging is super cute and limited edition.

Nest - Eau de Parfum Travel Spray Trio ($16 CAD) - This trio has a value of $80 CAD. I really loved the packaging and I don't know much about this brand to be honest with you! I plan on putting these three travel sprays in rotation in my purse!

Alterna Haircare - Caviar Volume Trio Kit ($13 CAD) - This set was valued at $37.50 CAD. I am excited to see how these three products work on my hair! I have never tried it out but have heard many bloggers talk about this brand!

Fresh - Skincare Power Players ($30 CAD) - This is a $36 value and it was not a Black Friday special but I wanted to take advantage of this great buy anyway. I have been wanting to try out the Seaberry Oil for quite some time now and there is a Rose Face Cream that I am very excited to try-out!

I wanted to purchase the Philosophy Peel Duo Set but that sold out very quickly as well as the Sephora Rose Skin Trio. They had the Purity Cleanser on sale for Black Friday and Sephora brought back the Purity Made Simple Cleanser for Boxing Day for $15 CAD which is more than half off! It was the same price on both big shopping days and it is currently sold out right now on the Sephora web site. It is the one with 360 ml or 12 fl oz.

Until next time,

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I know that the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a cult beauty favourite and that it has been out for quite some time, but I still wanted to write a review on it. I also included some swatches as well as close-up shots.

The Shades/Swatches
I was debating between the two shades Milk Chocolate and Chocolate. I do tan in the summer time and I prefer my bronzer to be more on the dark side in general. That is why I went with the shade best suited for Medium to Deep skin tones. Milk Chocolate is for more Lighter skin tones which I clearly am right now, but that didn't stop me from getting the Chocolate shade! I can just use a lighter hand when I apply it to my face. It also comes in a third shade which is called Dark Chocolate which is suitable for Deep to Tan skin tones.

The Product
This is an all matte bronzer with no shimmer, that actually smells like chocolate! They do use real antioxidant-rich cocoa powder in the formula. It is also very easy to blend out on the skin and does not look orange! If you are wondering, you are getting 10 grams of product or 0.35 oz. If you didn't already know, 'soleil' means sun in French.

The Packaging
It is very beautiful as you can tell from the photos. It is almost an Antique Gold all throughout the packaging that has a simple design embossed on the top. Too Faced name appears in the centre in a cursive font also in gold.

You are also getting a nice sized mirror inside! It opens and closes very easily which I am a big fan of because I really hate fighting to open or close compacts in the early morning when I am getting ready to go to work!

Price Point
It retails for $38 CAD on the Sephora web site and I purchased mine online. Yes, it is on the more expensive side for a bronzer, but I have actually never owned an expensive bronzer in my life. All of my bronzers have been from the drugstore and that is why I thought why not treat myself to one?

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer vs. Benefit's Hoola Bronzer:
I was debating between this bronzer and the Hoola Bronzer from Benefit, but after doing my research, I went with this one. I prefer the more sturdy packaging from Too Faced, there is a generous sized mirror, this one blends out seamlessly and the one from Benefit can look patchy (according to other reviews that I came across.) Also, who doesn't love a bronzer that smells just like chocolate? The Hoola Bronzer retails for $36 CAD which is $2 less than the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and there is the option to purchase the travel sized version for only $20 CAD. Both sizes come with a brush but the smaller size has 0.14 oz of product and the full sized version comes with 0.28 oz of product or 8 grams which is 2 grams less than the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. However, the Hoola Bronzer only comes in 1 shade and the Too Faced Bronzer has 3 shades to choose from. The mirror is also much smaller on the Hoola packaging and the packaging is made out of cardboard. If you are into depotting, the pan inside the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer will be much easier to take out than Benefit's Hoola pan.

Overall Thoughts
I am happy with my purchase and glad that I did my research beforehand! I also encourage you to check out different sources online to help you make a more informed decision before purchasing this product. I do not regret it at all and even though this bronzer is more on the expensive side, it will certainly last me a long time! I look forward to using this bronzer while doing my makeup and I love that it smells just like chocolate!
