10 Uses & 10 Benefits from Using Tea Tree Oil

Hey everyone! I have been wanting to try out Tea Tree Oil in its natural form for a long time now. The Body Shop was having a Cyber Monday Sale and almost everything on the web site was 50% off. I definitely took advantage of the sale and picked up a 20 ml bottle for myself. They also have an entire Tea Tree line that you can check out on their web site. I have been doing some research and wanted to share with you the various uses as well as benefits of this miraculous product!

I recently filmed a Haul Video where I showed this product. I actually used one of their face washes a long time ago, from the Tea Tree line and I believe that it was an exfoliating one. Of course the packaging was different then, but I have not used any products containing Tea Tree since. The bottle that I picked up contains 15% Tea Tree Oil and it is a Best Seller on the Body Shop's web site.

Uses:
- Facial Steaming
- Directly onto skin to target acne or blemishes
- Onto scalp to help target dandruff, a flaky scalp or lice
- Can be used to make a DIY deodorant
- Claims to help those who have Eczema or Psoriasis (I have Psoriasis and will keep you posted on how this works out for me as it also helps with inflammation.)
- Can help soothe a sunburn
- Helps with toenail fungus and Athlete's Foot
- Assists in treating Ringworm
- It can kill mold
- Can be used as a household cleaner
- You can add a few drops in when you are doing laundry
Bonus: I have actually been adding a few drops in with my Johnson's Baby Shampoo when I wash my makeup brushes and it works great!

Benefits:
- Does not dry out your skin
- It is a multi-purpose product as there are many uses as well as benefits
- You can use Tea Tree Oil to help treat your acne naturally
- Is a topical antiseptic
- Can be used as an anti-fungal treatment
- Helps reduce infection
- It offers antibiotic properties
- Known for its healing abilities
- It is a popular essential oil
- Anti-viral benefits

I really like the dispenser because it is much easier this way to be able to control how much product comes out of the bottle rather than dumping out more than you intended on, and thus wasting product.  Of course, there are many more benefits and uses that I have not included above because there are a lot! I highly recommend and urge you to do your own research to form your own opinions about Tea Tree Oil.

The Benefits of Using Coconut Oil

Hey everyone! I have been using Coconut Oil now for a few years now and wanted to share with you some benefits as well as some interesting uses of this multi-tasking miracle worker!

I usually use my coconut oil in my hair as a hair mask overnight. I comb my hair, liquify the product in my hands by creating friction, and I then apply it to my entire head of hair including my scalp. I also used to use this as a makeup remover and it works quite well!

Benefits:
- High in Natural Saturated Fats
- Increases the Healthy Cholesterol (HDL) in your body
- Help convert bad cholesterol (LDL) into good cholesterol
- Can help lower your risk of getting Heart Disease
- Helps reduce inflammation
- Increases your metabolism
- Can improve digestion and immunity
- It can help curb your appetite
- There are anti-aging properties

Uses:
- Hair (to condition with, help protect against damage, anti-dandruff and to help fight frizz)
- As a makeup remover
- On your cuticles
- In-place of a lotion to moisturize your skin
- Can shave with it
- Soften cracked heels
- As a lip balm
- To cook with

There are many other benefits as well as uses from Coconut Oil that I have not listed here. I strongly encourage you to read up on them because this is truly a wonderful and inexpensive item to have on hand at all times! Also, if you have acne-prone skin, I would not suggest using this product to remove your makeup because it is quite high ranking in at a 4 on the chart. It can end up causing blemishes on your skin and can even clog your pores. However if you have used this in the past and it does work for you in-general, then do what you feel is right for your skin.

Also, be sure to check out this article that lists 101 benefits and uses for coconut oil that you can take advantage of!

The Benefits of Elderflower

Hey everyone! In August, I had a mojito that had an interesting ingredient called Elderflower inside. I wanted to learn more about it and that is when I did a quick Google search. I found many amazing benefits that I wanted to share with you today!

What Is It?
Elderflower comes from the flower of the tree. The extract of the flower is what is used to make medicine. The flowers and the berries can be used but the leaves, roots as well as sticks, should not be used whatsoever. There are different species of the Elderflower plant and interested enough, 10 identified species are found right right in North America!

Benefits:
- Used in traditional medicine in different countries and in various cultures
- Known for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties (can use as a mouthwash or a gargle)
- Typically used for colds, the flu and sinus infections
- Can help manage allergies and boost your immune system
- Can help reduce pain and swelling in the joints for those suffering with certain forms of arthritis
- Apparently it can help with constipation (it acts as a diuretic/laxative)
- Allegedly, it can act as insulin and help reduce blood sugar levels

Using & Consuming Elderflower:
I wasn't able to find any Elderflower supplements and that is why I purchased that tea instead. As mentioned earlier, Elderflower can be used as a flavouring component in food and drinks such as my mojito. Elderflower extracts can be found in perfumes and Elderflower water is used in the eyes (to reduce redness) as well as on the skin.
