Most Reached for Face Masks & Sleeping Masks

Hey everyone! I was never really into using face masks until recently and now I am obsessed! Here are a few of the ones that have been working for me.

Sephora Algae Sleeping Mask - I have a dedicated blog post to this Algae Sleeping Mask that you get many uses out of and it only costs $5 CAD. I really like the light scent and it help to detoxify as well as cleanse the skin. There are different masks that serve a different purpose and you can see which one is right for you on the Sephora site. It isn't greasy at all on the skin and absorbs rather quickly. I would definitely purchase this again and you basically apply a thin layer onto your face at night. You then wake up in the morning and wash off the remainder. It leaves your skin feeling very soft and hydrated!

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask - This is designed for all skin types and this has a light fragrant scent to it. This is a gel sleeping mask that really helps hydrate your skin while you sleep. Some ingredients inside this wonderful Sleeping Mask include: orange flower, rose, and sandalwood which help to relax and rejuvenate. The full size version is $30 CAD for 2.7 oz on the Sephora web site which is a fair price in my honest opinion. I did hear that they changed the formula and the old formula is better which makes me a little bit skeptical because I'm not sure if I have the old or new formula in my travel sized container. This is a Korean skincare company which is part of Amore Pacific. Laneige also has a Lip Sleeping Mask that I am very intrigued to try-out and I did use up a travel size jar of the Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask that I found to be just alright. It didn't do anything groundbreaking to change my skin and if you do not like yogurt, I wouldn't recommend this product to you; It does have the consistency of yogurt and it does smell similar to it.

I did use a sample from Sephora of the GLAMGLOW GRAVITYMUD Firming Treatment that I featured in my December Empties and I really enjoyed using it! It is a peel off mask and it changes colour once it starts drying on your face. This is great for: Dry, Normal, Combination and Oily skin types. It is recommend to use this mud-based mask twice a week as a full face mask and it will help tighten your skin. I am definitely considering purchasing the full sized version once I use up all of my other masks! The full sized version retails for $79 CAD on the Sephora web site and you get 1.4 oz of product in one purple branded jar. I also tried the YOUTHMUD TINGLEXFOLIATE Treatment and I did not like it as much as the other mask. It dried extremely fast like in 5 minutes or so with a light layer applied all over the face. It had some chunks in the formula that I'm guessing were the Green Tea Leaf Pieces and that made it rather messy to wash off. It is still a good mask, it just wasn't my favourite. If you want to try it, Sephora has the 15 ml jar for $24 CAD that you can purchase online. You will get 3-5 uses out of it depending on how much you use.

I don't have any on hand, but I absolutely love the Sheet Masks from The Face Shop. They are the best sheet masks that I have ever used and I do have an entire dedicated post about these wonderful Sheet Masks.

Until next time,

Sephora's Sleeping Masks

Hey everyone! I wanted to come on here and talk to you about Sephora's Sleeping Masks which are inspired by Asian beauty rituals! There are about 11 to choose from and there should be one to address your skin care concerns as well as your needs!

I purchased the Algae Sleeping Mask because it claims that is, 'cleanses and detoxifies skin while helping to eliminate impurities for a fresh, radiant morning complexion.'

Here is a visual of how much product that you are getting inside. It is impossible to tell unless you pop it out of its packaging. You are looking at 8 ml or 0.27 fl oz of product in each one. You can definitely stretch out your usage with one pod and one Sleeping Mask can last you multiple nights.

On the back of the box, it tells you what each one claims to do for your skin. All the ingredients are listed at the very bottom in a small font.

I did receive the Rose Sleeping Mask in my Sephora Mystery Bag that I featured in another blog post and that is why the barcode on the bottom of the packaging has been blacked out with a sharpie. The claim is that it, 'plumps skin and gives an immediate radiance boost for hydrated, more luminous skin.'

How To Use:
I was a little bit confused on how to use one of these sleeping masks at first. Basically, you apply the product onto your face at night and then you wash off any excess product that is left on your face in the morning. Once you are asleep, you let the sleeping mask work its magic and you will see the results the next day when you wake-up! It recommends to use all over your face, down your neck and also around your eye area. I did apply a thin layer onto my face and I brought it down my neck. However, I prefer to use my current eye cream and I just layered it on top of the Sleeping Mask.

Final Thoughts:
I really did enjoy the light scent of the Algae Sleeping Mask a lot more than I originally thought that I would! It wasn't sticky or greasy on the skin and it absorbed very quickly. It wasn't messy to use and it is a cream-gel formula. My skin looked more radiant in the morning and it was soft to the touch! Sephora should definitely consider making the packaging more convenient such as in form of a bottle or tube because you can't reseal the top once it is open! As I previously mentioned, you can stretch your usage out of each Sleeping Mask and it just isn't a one time only use situation.

These retail for $5 CAD on the Sephora web site. There are a wide range of scents that have various benefits that you can choose from to fit your skin type!

Until next time,

Lise Watier HydraForce Product Review

Hey everyone! Lise Watier recently came out with a new cream that is called Hydraforce and it is a Hydra-Protective Comforting Cream. It is very hydrating and is perfect for the unpredictable weather conditions that we as Canadians have to deal with. The featured ingredient is the Gaspe Algae Extract which helps acts as a barrier from harsh environments.

Packaging
I really liked the design that they came out with for this particular product. The lid is white and then there is blue ombre fading into white towards the top. There is some weight to this product but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it to be heavy. It is rather small and won’t take up much room on your vanity. It is such a beautiful jar that you will want to definitely display it for others to see!

Price
The cream is 45 ml or 1.5 FL OZ and I must say that a little bit does go a long way! It retails for $45 CAD on Lise Watier web site

Pros
There is a very light scent that is pleasant and not overwhelming. It is very lightweight and it left my skin remarkably softer. It really did help my makeup glide on that much smoother. I find that it really does protect my skin in the cold Canadian weather which is a major key that I look for in all my moisturizers.

The App

They also came out with a fun app called Hydra-Detect that is available for both iPhone and Android users. It is free to download and is very simple to use. You follow the prompts on the screen and they will show you your results! I have attached some screen shots down below so that you can see exactly how the app works! You start off by plugging in the cord to access your device's microphone. There are two sensors on the external device and you put them onto your skin and wait for your test results! As you can see from the screen shots, my hands were extremely dry and after applying one layer of cream, my hydration level instantly went up!

Overall
I think that this is a great product and I really enjoyed using it. The formula is exceptional in my opinion and I can honestly say that because I have used a lot of different creams for my face both low-end and also high-end. After using this, I can’t leave my house without wearing my HydraForce moisturizer! Also, this was my first item that I have ever tried out from Lise Watier and now I want to try out others from this brand! It was the perfect introductory product.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
