Project 10 Pan - Round 5 | 2016

Hey everyone! It's time again for another Project 10 Pan blog post! I absolutely love doing these because I can share with you which products that I am getting rid of and you get a bonus mini-review on each item!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set (x2) - This is a holy grail product for me and I use it both under and over my makeup. I have a few back-ups and absolutely love this product. It is also very affordable as you can purchase this on the ELF web site for $3 USD.

Benefit The Pore-fessional (sample size - 3.0 ml, 0.10 US fl.oz) - In my last Project 10 Pan blog post, you can see that I used up a full size of this product. I do really like it as it minimizes my larger pores and it feels great on the skin! I also carried this with me in my travel makeup bag when I was in various locations and it barely took up any room! You do get quite a bit of product in this little tube so don’t let the size fool you!

MAC Painterly Paint Pot - I don’t know about you, but my MAC paint pots always dry up on me before I can actually finish one up! Let me know if you were lucky enough to ever go through an entire paint pot! This shade was way too pink on my skin tone and next time, I think that I will be purchasing ‘Soft Ochre’ which is more of a yellow toned paint pot. This one is going Back To Mac.

MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack - I had this for quite some time and it has completely dried up on me. I prefer the gel liner by Bobbi Brown and I have been getting into liquid liner lately. For those reasons, I will not be repurchasing any time soon but perhaps in the future I will.

Morphe Concealer in Beige - I feel like I have spoken about this product so much now that I’m excited to get rid of it and not use it again. The colour was a weird peach/salmon shade, the consistency was clumpy and thick. I don’t know if I got a bad batch but the only pro I can think of is the price point as it retails for $4.99 USD on the Morphe web site. I honestly use up all of my products but there is still a little bit in the tube and I can’t get myself to finish this product because it is so awful.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 117 = Y225 Marble - I received a deluxe sample of this on the Sephora web site when using a promo code. I do like it and I would say that it is a medium coverage foundation that is buildable. I favour more full coverage foundations in general but this shade matched me perfectly! It is hard for me to find a foundation to match we well and this Makeup Forever Ultra HD got it right! The price tag is a little steep at $52 CAD and I don’t think I would purchase the full sized foundation because I have other foundations to go through at the moment. I also have others that I much prefer currently. I would only used this foundation when it was mixed with another one (as seen in my Purple & Copper Eyes video,) specifically the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation in the shade 3.0. This foundation alone was too greasy on my oily skin and I felt extremely greasy throughout the day even if I blotted and touched up with powder.

CoverGirl The Super Sizer Mascara in Very Black - I bought this on sale at the drugstore for 50% off the original price I believe. I did really enjoy using it and the wand was quite different. I like the colours on the packaging which really caught my eye. I like trying out different mascaras all the time and for that reason, I can’t say if I would repurchase or not. There are so many innovative mascaras that are always coming out with celebrity endorsements, flattering packaging, great ads and marketing as well as new claims to their product.

Flower Beauty Zoom-In Ultimate Mascara 3-in-1 in Intense Black - I found this to be a almost identical dupe for the Flormar Triple Action Mascara. I bought this on sale at Wal-Mart and I had never heard of this mascara before then. I did enjoy using it, it did not dry out on me but I feel like this mascara was kind of a gimmick.

Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose Kiss - This lasted me quite some time and I used it at night before bed. I did enjoy using it and the price point is very fair given the fact that you get 16.7 grams of product or 0.59 oz. It smells great and I have been using Nivea products for a long time. My Grandma also swears by Nivea products and uses them every single day! Her skin looks great!

Until next time,

September Empties | 2015

Hey everyone! Today I will be sharing with you all the items that I have used up this month! I must warn you that there are quite a few products that I did NOT enjoy and there are many samples that I went through.

Makeup
ELF Makeup Mist & Set - This is a holy grail product and there is no surprise that I have used up yet another one of these sprays.

Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate - This little jar did in fact last me a long time but it wasn't my favourite. I say this because I used it before I went to bed each night and the colour transferred onto my pillow case as well as my bed sheets. As far as hydration goes, it did do a decent job at moisturizing my lips however, I would not repurchase this particular colour but I would eventually be open to trying out another shade.

Face
Kandoo Flushable Wipes (50 count) - I have mentioned before how much I disliked these wipes. This (fortunately,) is my last pack that was in my stash. I do not like these as I usually need to use more than one to take off my makeup because of the small size of each wipe. They tear easily and dry out easily in this packaging.

Body
Body Luxuries Natural Loofah - I received this in a gift bag and I really wanted to like this product because it is very different than my usual loofah that I use every day, but I just couldn't. It is very hard even when you moisten it with a lot of water and it doesn't lather my shower gel very well. I don't feel like it is helping to cleanse my skin or even exfoliate my skin for that matter.

Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel in Passionista Fruit - This was a very basic and standard shave gel. The scent was okay but I always try out new scents and this wasn't anything that went above my expectations.

Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Sexy Dahlia Rush (Discontinued) - I really enjoyed this scent and did not get sick of it as I went through the entire bottle. I have a matching fragrance spray that is in my rotation that you will hopefully see in an empties blog post in the near future!

Hands
Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - Love this scent and I still have many back-ups of it!

Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - You will be seeing more empties of this particular scent in the upcoming months!

Samples
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - I did enjoy trying out this cleanser. It is very gentle on the skin, does not irritate the skin, is not drying and your skin feels clean after using it.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion - This toner was pretty standard. It didn't do anything outstanding but performed as it should. It did have a strong smell to it but that did not deter me from trying out this product. The sample size contains the toner on a small wipe which I found to be a great idea.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + and Gel - In the past, I had purchased the lotion and did not enjoy it at all. It was too runny, greasy, smelled odd and the yellow colour just turned me off. The gel unfortunately did not change my mind and did not get me to like this particular product any more.

LA Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes - A long time ago I contemplated ordering these online but I never went through with it. Now after using these wipes, I deeply regret it! These wipes are everything! They are large in size, are very moist, take off your makeup off using only one wipe, they do not break and great for travel! After I use up my current makeup wipes, I will be purchasing these!

Amore Pacific Luminous Effect Brightening Serum - I applied this to my face at night after I had cleansed it and I really enjoyed it. It is on the more high-end side and just using it once is not enough to tell how well it brightened my face but I'm glad I had the chance to try it out!

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer - I enjoyed using this as my skin felt very smooth and soft after using it. It is not greasy and did not break me out.

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Cream - I used this before I went to bed because it is slightly thicker and really moisturizes your skin. The smell is very nice and I looked forward to using this product each night!

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - I used this sample on a day where I had two different events to go to in the same day just hours apart and my makeup never looked better! I barely had to touch up throughout the day and the formula was very luxurious but not greasy. My only wish is that it wasn't so expensive but other than that, this is truly a great product!

Ralph Lauren Romance - I used up my sample but this wasn't my kind of fragrance. It was nice to try something out of my comfort zone but I will not be purchasing it in the near future. Like the name suggests, it is a romantic, sexy, flirty fragrance that is not overly fruity smelling.

Kiehl's Crème de Corps - I really did not like this product. The smell is uninviting, the packaging is terrible as there is extra product inside that I cannot get out and it felt greasy on my skin.

STAY CLASSY.

Battle Of The Setting Sprays

Hey everyone! Today we will be talking all about three different makeup setting sprays! I have been using setting sprays for a few years now and wanted to share some points with you!

ELF Makeup Mist & Set - $3.00 USD (2.02 fl oz)

Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Moisturizing
- Lasts all day
- They fixed the nozzle from where the mist comes out of and now, it evenly disperses on the face when you press down
- Holy grail item!

Cons:
- One bottle lasts me anywhere from 1 month to a month and a half
- Can be hard to find in stores!
- The scent isn't that great

Pros:
- Gives a matte finish to the skin
- Lightweight formula
- Easy to apply and is effective
- Doesn't break out my skin
- Is suitable for wearing outside when it is humid (it tends to hold up most of the time)

Cons:
- The nozzle can be improved as it tends to squirt out sometimes
- The black packaging really gets dirty when applying makeup! (as seen in the photo above)
- The smell of the actual product can be improved

Pros:
- Gives a matte finish
- Long lasting
- Award winning
- There is a nice variety of setting sprays online to choose from depending on your skin type
- Makeup artists use this product as it is reputable

Cons:
- A more expensive setting spray
- Can only buy online or makeup conventions (IMATS & others)
- I find myself still needing to touch up sometimes throughout the day

Overall
I tend to use my ELF Makeup Mist & Set before I go to work or when I'm running errands. I like to use my Skindinavia Oil Control Finishing Spray for special events or when I'm going out at night. It feels luxurious on the skin and it makes me feel good! As far as the NYX Matte Setting Spray, I use it here and there but I find myself reaching for the other two sprays more often. I just hate how dirty the packaging gets after I blend my foundation and reach for it, it gets filthy! Just my personal opinion.

Tip: Spray your face after you apply all your face products and apply mascara after you spray! If you spray your face at the very end of your entire makeup application and the mascara isn't waterproof, it can ruin your eye makeup giving you racoon eyes when it runs underneath!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

June Favourites

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of this month's favourites with you!

1. I am really into boyfriend jeans. The relaxed, slouchy fit with cut outs and distressing gets me every time. They can do no wrong in my books. I just received my second pair in the mail today.

2. The warmer weather is a great time to play around with new colours and shimmers. Nars Blush in Luster is no exception to this! The Sephora web site describes it as a "sheer golden apricot" colour.

3. The hotter it gets, the more precautions are necessary to take when applying our makeup. We don't want our hard work to go to waste as we gradually (or suddenly) see our makeup come off. I use ELF Studio Makeup Mist & Set before any of my face makeup and then one more after my look is completed to lock it in place. It is my holy grail and I literally have 10 back-ups of this.

4. To use in conjunction with my Nars blush, I use MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle. I have the old packaging and this bad boy has lasted me numerous years. It adds the perfect amount of highlight and sheen to your look.

5. We all strive to have the perfect beach waves during this time of year. Personally for me, when it is hot outside, I don't want to have to bother using hot tools on my hair because the room will get unbearably hot. Instead, I opt for using Organix Quenched Sea Mineral Moisture Shimmering Weightless Moisture Replenisher. I just spray it into my hair, scrunch it with my fingers and I'm out the door! A simple yet efficient product which I will repurchase in the future.

6. I adore statement necklaces, especially when they incorporate bright fun colours into the design. The one shown in the photo above is from Amrita Singh and I purchased it a few months back on Hautelook. I have another necklace from her, and honestly, they are GORGEOUS! I can't say enough good things about them and the quality is impeccable. My only regret is not owning more of her beautiful pieces.

7. The CoverGirl Bombshell Volume Mascara is something that I find myself reaching for on a daily basis. There are two sides to the mascara and two different wands sharing the same formula. One is to lengthen and come with a skinner, longer brush. The second is more so for volume and it comes with a chubbier, thicker brush. Both used together, makes my lashes really stand out.

8. My last favourite that I am featuring this month is a new found one which is the NYX HD Concealer in CW 04 Beige. This shade blends into my current skin tone perfectly and provides awesome coverage. Also, it's really easy to throw into a small purse or clutch when you're going out at night if you may want to retouch throughout the night. (Especially if you're doing a lot of dancing!)

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to read my blog post! I really appreciate it.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
