May Empties | 2017

Hey everyone! It is time for another month of empties and here are all the products that I have used up for the month of May!

Face
beautyblender pro - I absolutely love this makeup sponge and although it is on the more expensive side, it is certainly worth every penny! It helps blend out your makeup flawlessly and I can’t tell you when the last time was when I used a foundation brush! I also use it to apply my: cream contour, highlight, blush and I even use it to apply powder when I’m baking my face!

Citrus Orange Scented Cleansing Wipes (25 count) - I purchased these at Michaels awhile back and I purchased 4 packs for under $5. These are great for removing swatches off my arms, but are not my personal favourite for removing makeup off my face. You definitely get what you pay for and these are not bad because they do a decent job, they just aren’t the best cleaning wipes on the market.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (8 count) - I always have Biore pore strips on me at all times and these once were effective, but my favourite ones of all time are the pore strips for the face.

Bath & Body Works
Coconut Pumpkin Latte Nourishing Hand Soap (8 fl oz/236 ml) - I loved the scent of this hand soap and I smelled more coconut than pumpkin! It is a good one and I was actually sad to run out of it! It is described on the side of the bottle as, “a nourishing hand soap with pumpkin butter!” My hands felt soft and clean after using it!

Sea Island Cotton Deep Cleansing Hand Soap (8 fl oz/236 ml) - This is definitely a classic Bath & Body Works scent and I have repurchased it in different forms before (lotions, soaps, etc.) This is a very fresh and clean scent that reminds me of laundry.

Peach Bellini Gentle Foaming Hand Soap (8.75 fl oz/259 ml) - This is a scent that I have been using for many years having no intention of stopping any time soon! It is described as a, 'juicy peach, white apricot and fresh mango' scent. It is definitely one of their classic scents and I have also used the Scentportable of this particular scent in the past! It smelled great in my car and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Cedar & Sage Gentle Foaming Hand Soap (8.75 fl oz/259 ml) - This has to be one of my favourite masculine scents of all time from Bath & Body Works! This reminds me of a fragrance that I had when I was in high school and I think it was Diesel Green but I could be wrong!

Island Margarita Scentportable Fragrance Refill (0.2 fl oz/6 ml) - This is definitely one of my go-to scents from Bath & Body Works during the summer. This scent never gets old to me and it’s definitely one that I look forward to use each season!

Caribbean Escape Scentportable Fragrance Refill (0.2 fl oz/6 ml) - This is a classic summer scent by Bath & Body Works that has been around for a few years now. I prefer Island Margarita over this scent but it is definitely nostalgic to me!

Body
Gilette Satin Care Shave Gel with Shea Butter for Dry Skin (198 g/7 oz) - I have very oily skin on my face but the rest of my body is dry and that’s why I decided to pick up this product. It didn’t do anything out of the ordinary and I would still need to slather myself in body lotion. It was a very standard shave gel and it definitely wasn’t one of my favourites.

Teeth
Oral B Healthy Clean Medium Toothbrush - I actually featured this in my March Empties and after using another one of these toothbrushes, I can say that I really don't like the medium kind. I much prefer a soft bristle toothbrush and will no longer be purchasing that type anymore. Don’t get me wrong, Oral B is an amazing brand and makes my favourite toothbrushes, I just prefer the soft bristle ones! I only bought the medium kind because there were no soft ones and I was in a pinch!

Samples/Promo

Face/Body
Caudalie Resveratrol (Lift) Face Lifting Soft Cream (0.5 fl oz/15 ml) - This was definitely too greasy and oily for me to wear in the day time especially if I was going to be wearing a full face of makeup that day. I did enjoy using it at night and using it in conjunction with a facial oil. My face felt hydrated the following morning. I wouldn’t purchase this because it does feel greasy on the skin and I know that your skincare isn’t supposed to smell good, but there is a scent to it that I can’t describe. It isn’t foul smelling but it isn’t the most pleasant either so keep that in mind when you are purchasing.

Avene TriXera Nutri-Fluid Balm (0.3 fl oz/10 ml) - This was a deluxe sample that was included in my Beauty Boutique order. This is fragrance-free and is for both the face as well as the body. I liked using it on my body but felt that it made my face too oily and would not use it on my face again. This is targeted for those with dry to very dry sensitive skin. I have dry skin on my body but it is not sensitive and it did a great job at hydrating the skin on my body. It is also hypoallergenic (unlikely to cause an allergic reaction) and non-comedogenic (it will not cause blocked pores.) It was a very standard lotion though and it didn’t stand out from the rest but it did make my skin very smooth as well as soft.

Vichy Liftactiv Supreme Intense Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Corrective Care (0.1 fl oz/3 ml) - This is targeted to those with normal to combination skin. There is a light scent that I quite enjoy and the formula is thicker than I thought it would be which is another plus. It is white in colour but it completely blends out leaving no residue. It did not break me out and I would definitely consider purchasing the full sized version!

L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream (4 ml) - I received this free in a gift trio that I received from L’Occitane. I really did enjoy using this cream, it is on the thick side and I would use it before bed. There is a floral scent to it and the jar is very beautiful. It made my skin soft and supple.

Time In A Bottle 100% In-Control (3 ml) - You pour the activator into the serum, shake for 20 seconds and that will result in the formula turning a light pink. You can use this both in the morning and at night. It was rather messy to use and there was no sticky feeling left behind after you rubbed the product in to your skin fully. This does have a nice scent to it and the full sized version (1.35 oz) retails at Ulta for $76 USD.

Nivea In-Shower Body Milk (80 ml) - This is targeted to those with dry to very skin skin and it claims to be nourishing, lasting up to 24 hours or more. It contains almond oil and it is supposed to cleanse your skin as well as hydrate it. I have very dry skin on my body right now and this product didn’t help with it. I had tried a smaller sample of this in the past and after trying a larger sample more recently, I still don’t care for this product to be honest with you.

Hands
L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream with 20% Shea (10 ml) - I actually received this as part of the L’Occitane Free Gift Trio that I have an entire post dedicated to. I have used this hand cream before and I really like it! It is definitely unisex and does a great job at nourishing your hands. My hands did not feel greasy after applying this to them and they felt very soft!

Fragrance
Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum Spray (.05 fl oz/1.5 ml) - The notes are described as: “Viva la Juicy combines delicious wild berries with creamy vanilla and bright jasmine.” This is designed for the glamorous girl who is the life of the party. This is a great daytime scent that you can feel good about wearing. It smells great but my only complaint is that it is not lasting and wears off within a few hours before you need to reapply.

Downy Unstopables In-Wash Scent Booster in Fresh - I heard about a DIY from Ciaobella on Youtube and it’s where you pour some of these beads into a mesh bag. You then secure it shut and you can put it in any drawer or in your car or even in your laundry room! I love the scent of these and it definitely freshened up my entire drawer! I do the same exact thing with dried lavender and have been doing that for as long as I can remember!

Until next time,

October Empties | 2016

Hey everyone! Here are all the products that I used up right before Halloween.

Face
The Face Shop - Blackhead Out Charcoal Nose Strip - I used up one of these last month and I mentioned that it is my favourite charcoal nose strip at the moment. However, it is not my favourite pore strip of all time though.

Teeth
Colgate Total Whitening Toothpaste Gel - I have used up another one of these and you already know my thoughts on this: it is a very standard toothpaste that doesn’t do anything out of the ordinary for my teeth.

Vio Life Slim Sonic - The Stylish Toothbrush - I received this toothbrush from a family member and it is great to travel with because it comes with a convenient case. Mine happens to have polka dots on it and I love the cute print! It also comes with 1 additional brush head as well as 1 AAA battery. You press the button below the brush head and it begins to vibrate. The claims are that it is ‘superior cleaning with 22,000 sonic brush strokes.’ I do appreciate that it comes with a ‘moisture-releasing vented cap’ because my main concern was that since the cap would seal the toothbrush completely shut, it would be a breading ground for bacteria. That is not the case and I am glad that they thought of this innovative feature! To purchase replacement brush heads, you can do so on their web site and you get 4 for $11.95. I enjoy using it but I’m not sure that I would go ahead and purchase additional brush heads. UPDATE: I feel that the brush heads are too harsh on my gums (they bled a few times,) and teeth. I would only purchase this product if there is an option for buying soft brush head replacements (I'm not sure about that one.)

Hair
Aussie Mega Hair Spray - I bought the flexible hold version of this hair spray. It was very inexpensive at the drugstore and you get 460 ml of product. However, I did not like this hair spray at all! The first reason being that when I spray my hair with it and then comb it to set it in place, I get little white flakes that make it appear that I have dandruff. I have dark brown hair and that is a no-no in my books. I also feel like that this doesn’t last me all day and I need to constantly reapply the hair spray. I couldn’t be happier that I finished this bottle and will never purchase it ever again.

Selsun Blue Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Activ Hydration - This is my favourite formula in the entire line. My scalp gets extremely dry (not itchy,) in the colder months and I need something to keep my scalp in-check. This does it for me and I absolutely love this product! I have even recommended this brand to a friend and she loves it just as much as I do!

Suraj Coconut Oil - I have been using coconut oil for years! It is a great multi-purpose product and I mainly use it on my hair as a deep conditioning mask but you can also use it to remove your makeup. I apply it to my hair at night, put it in a bun and sleep with it overnight. I wake up the next morning and wash it out. Nothing gets my hair as soft, silky and smooth as coconut oil. I also made a DIY Coffee Scrub using Coconut Oil

Sheet Masks
The Face Shop White Tea Sheet Mask - This is an illuminating mask that uses young White Tea leaves to help brighten and clear the skin. I really enjoyed using this one and my skin did in-fact look more radiant after I had used it!

The Face Shop Goji Berry Sheet Mask - This is a moisturizing sheet mask and I loved the scent of it! This is by far one of my favourite sheet masks from The Face Shop and the mask felt very lightweight! My skin drank up a lot of the essence and this mask really helped bring back much needed moisture to my face!

The Face Shop Acai Berry Sheet Mask - If you are in need of a firming sheet mask, this is one that you have to check out! My face did feel more firm in texture after using it and tapping in the extra essence (leftover from the sheet mask) on the face as recommended. I didn’t care for the smell because it was quite odd and very hard to explain but the smell wasn’t horrible. If you are wondering, I generally leave my sheet masks on my face for 20 minutes. I try to lie down and keep my body horizontal instead of vertical as that is how you should apply a face mask. I have seen articles and seen videos of people trying to use up the remainder essence in the package but I don’t care to do that. The reason behind that is that the sheet masks I purchase are not that expensive and I really don’t have any desire to use up to extra essence. It is all personal preference really.

ELF Hydrating Water Sheet Mask - This is the only sheet mask that ELF has on their web site currently. The mask is enriched with purified water and aloe. It claims to, 'hydrates and nourishes for glowing, healthy looking skin.' This is also a cooling sensation when the mask is applied onto your face. It is a paper mask that is very lightweight on the face and it also contains hyaluronic acid. This mask is soaked in essence but it didn’t drip at all. I just applied the extra essence to my neck and shoulders. I found that it also fit my face better than some other sheet masks.

Body
Johnson’s Baby Wash in Honey Apple - I love the scent of this body wash and I have been using it for years! I am not planning on stopping anytime soon! I am already using my other bottle of the same exact scent!

Candles/Scentportable
Bath & Body Works Candle in Pumpkin Spiced Cheesecake - This was my favourite candle out of the two and I actually featured it in my October Favourites Video. It is a great fall scent and one of my favourites from Bath & Body Works!

Bath & Body Works Candle in Pumpkin Pecan Waffles - If I burned this candle too long for hours at a time, it would give me a headache. I still do like this scent and can burn it for about an hour at a time quite sparingly. It is a great scent but because of it giving me headaches when burned for too long, it isn’t one of my favourites.

Bath & Body Works Scentportable Fragrance Refill in Mahogany Teakwood - I have mentioned before that I absolutely love this scent! It is musky and basically, it smells like a man. More specifically, it is described as ‘the luxurious scent of fine woods softened by delicate lavender and geranium notes.’ This scent is a must-have for fall!

Samples/Promo
Fabric Freshener - I received this in a sample bag from my friend. There is no brand written on the bottle but it is a fabric freshener that deodorizes and freshens. It didn’t go above and beyond in my honest opinion, but it was pleasant to use. I sprayed my pillows in the morning so that when I went to bed in the evening, the smell would linger.

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel - I received this in a gift set and I love how well that it takes off my makeup! It is fantastic in that aspect and the scent is nice! It did not burn or irritate my eyes whatsoever! I have a larger bottle of this same exact product that I received in another gift set that I can’t wait to start using!

Lise Watier Hydraforce Hydra-Protective Comforting Creme - I have an entire review on this product that you can check out. I really did enjoy using this cream! There was a pleasant scent, it lasted quite a long time, it felt luxurious on the skin and it really did hydrate my skin! I was sad when it did run out!

Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream - This product is targeted to those who have dark circles, wrinkles and puffiness. You are supposed to use this both in the morning as well as in the night time. This sample lasted me 4 uses and I liked it better than the 7-in-1 eye cream by Olay. This one gave me better results, it was a thicker consistency and I just felt that it was more effective overall.

The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick - I received 3 of these samples on the streets of Toronto a few months back. There was an entire promotion for the new Estee Edit Line and you could get a makeover inside the trailer. It was awesome! Even though I didn’t get a makeover or any touch-ups, I still walked away with a few sample sized products. This was hard to use as a sample and I am not trying to sound ungrateful for a free sample because I actually am, but when I applied it onto my skin, the whole product fell apart. Again, I don’t want to sound picky but I wish that it was in some kind of sturdy packaging such as the mini sample of the Benefit’s Watt’s Up Highlighter!

That would have been much more practical than cutting off a small portion of the Pore Vanishing Stick and distributing it as is. The sample did come in a sealed package but you can’t reseal it which sucks. This is supposed to blur your pores and make the skin look more even. It felt nice on the skin but, I still prefer my Porefessional.

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink & Steel Ink - This was a very creamy and smooth product that effortlessly glided onto the lid! I absolutely loved it and it may be replacing my MAC BlackTrack Gel Liner soon! Black Ink is a very dark black, a jet black and Steel Ink is on the more navy blue side.

KIND Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate - I received this at an event and these are delicious! In one bar, there are 7 grams of protein, 200 calories and 17 grams of carbohydrates. Some people use these as a meal replacement but it is all up to you and what your personal preference is!

Special K Nourish Bar - Dark Chocolate Chunks & Almonds - This bar was sent to me in a SampleSource Box and I really did enjoy it! It tastes delicious and I love dark chocolate in general so I already knew that this bar would be a winner. This are great flavours packed inside this bar and you get 33g of product.

Tetley Ayurvedic Balance Poise-Vata Herbal Tea - Three highlighted ingredients on the package are: Cinnamon, Camomile and Orange Peels. This is a delicious tea that is very smooth. I want to share with you what they have written on their web site:

“Tetley Ayurvedic Balance teas were inspired by Ayurveda, a system of knowledge written down 5,000 years ago which emphasizes that balancing of the mind, body and spirit is essential for holistic well-being. Working with Ayurvedic experts, our blends were lovingly crafted to address the need for balance during all stages of our lives.”

It goes on to say that it is ‘A centering tea with natural ingredients to enjoy when you are feeling scattered or worried.’ I love the story behind the tea and will definitely be purchasing a full sized version with the coupon that they sent me in my Fall SampleSource Box

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY

October Empties & Project 10 Pan | 2015

Hey everyone! In today's blog post, you can check out my trash aka see all the products that I've finished up this month! Also, I am happy to announce that I will be starting Project 10 Pan! It is my first time trying it out and I will not be showing all the products that I want to finish before hand because I feel like that will be a recipe for disaster. I know it works and motivates other people but for me, I am doubtful! I also want to mention that I want to really challenge myself and keep it separate from my empties. Therefore, any items you see in my next month's blog post for empties will not duplicate onto my Project 10 Pan.

With getting that out of the way, let's check out which products I loved and didn't care for!

Hair
Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil  - This is a repurchase of mine and you can notice that it is in the old packaging. That's because I used this sparingly and finally finished it up. I would repurchase for the third time but I am currently trying out a new hair oil.

Selsun Selenium Sulfide Lotion Extra Strength 2.5%  - I have Tinea Versicolor on my back and use this product to help treat it at home. I like the extra strength formula better than the other formula that contains botanicals. This bottle is smaller but it works quicker and you need less of it in my opinion. Also, I included it in the hair category because my scalp is problematic (as in it is oily yet dry at the same time but not itchy,) and it helped me with that issue. It is very inexpensive and I buy mine at Wal-Mart for between $10-$13 CAD.

Mouth
Dentek Triple Clean Floss Picks - I know this is a bit of an odd category but if it can help someone out then I'm all for it! I love these flossers and they do not break when I am using them! They are my favourite ones to use at the moment!

Colgate Enamel Health Whitening Toothpaste in Clean Mint - This was a very basic and standard toothpaste. It didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I would only repurchase it if it was on sale. It wasn't memorable and didn't stand out in my opinion.

Face
BiorĂ© Deep Cleansing Pore Strips For The Face (8 Count) - These are a repurchase and I really enjoy using them for my white heads! I use the face strips on my nose and find that they work just as well!

Mario Badescu Drying Cream - Oddly enough, I purchased a full sized version of this product and when it was almost gone, I received a sample of the exact same product in the mail. It took me a while to use it up but it's gone now and will be interested in purchasing a full sized version again of this! It is only sold in a few stores in my province so I will have to check online before I go to scout this product out in-store. This product not just helped dry out my pimples, it also got under my skin to eliminate any bumps that formed due to oil build-up!

Fresh Rose Face Mask - I love just about anything rose scented and this left my skin feeling soft and for lack of a better word, FRESH! I would consider trying out a larger version of this. I am awful with remembering to use face masks so that's why I didn't say full sized version and only said larger version. Not sure if that exists though - I would have to look into it some more.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life - I actually got several of these samples both deluxe as well as single use samples. I have one more that I need to use up but overall, I did enjoy this formula. It is very lightweight, not sticky and doesn't transfer onto my bed sheets because I use this at night. The smell is light and pleasant.

Body
Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Dark Kiss - If I was forced to choose a favourite scent from BBW (which is very hard to do because there are so many,) I would probably choose this one. It doubles as a perfume and I have been complimented on this scent numerous times. I had one women tell me that this scent reminds her of Thierry Mugler's Angel. This has been discontinued but I seen it in my local BBW about 2 weeks ago as they have brought it back into the stores for a short time and were selling it part of the 3 for $15 deal. If you are interested, I suggested that you check it out!

The Body Shop Moringa Shower Gel - This travel sized bottle lasted me quite some time and I enjoyed using it. The scent is just alright and I wouldn't commit to the full sized verison.

The Body Shop Coconut Shower Cream - I felt as though I used up this product a lot faster than the regular shower gel. It didn't moisture my skin a whole lot but just slightly. I still used a cream/lotion after I finished showering in conjunction with using this product.

Hands
Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - I have used up several of these in the past you you already know that I have many other back-ups in my bathroom cupboards!

Vitamins
Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies (80 Count) - I can't tell you how many people that I have recommended this product to that have actually bought it and seen great results! This is very inexpensive as I buy my bottle at Wal-Mart for $7.97. I have many back-ups in my stash and I will continue to purchase these dummies for as long as they still carry them in-stores!

Diem Vitamin B12 - 1000 mcg (100 Tablets) - I had these laying around in the house because my dad was no longer taking them so I decided to take them because I heard that it boosts energy. I didn't see any difference and wouldn't take them again. You take one tablet a day, put it under my tongue until it dissolves. I found that it is hard on my stomach and I need to take food with this vitamin. I also swished some water in my mouth when the tablet was under my tongue to help it dissolve faster.

Berlin's Fish Oil with Vitamin D (EPA/DHA 720 mg per serving) - I tried two of these samples and loved them! It is very easy to take, I took mine straight on a spoon but you can also mix it into different recipes. It has no fishy taste and the Mango Peach flavour is delicious! There is no sugar as it is naturally sweetened with xylitol, it is ultra purified, there are no artificial colours or flavours, it is gluten free and NON-GMO!

Candles
Bath & Body Works White Barn Scented Candle in Cherry Blossom Sangria - I really loved this scent! Is is a perfect Spring scent that it not too strong or overpowering yet puts you in a great mood while it's burning! At least, this candle put a smile on my face every time I smelled it when I re-entered the room! I would purchase a three wick candle of this particular scent in the Spring time! I also already depotted it to use it for another purpose. The mini-mason jar idea is genius and it does get hotter than the other containers when it burns so be careful!

Bath & Body Works White Barn Scented Candle in Lavender Vanilla - This was more of a calming scent (more vanilla than lavender,) in my opinion and it would be great to help re-create that spa like environment/smell inside your very own house! They have quite a long burn time for such a small candle which I was very happy about! It says on the bottom that it burns for about 10 hours which I would have to agree with!

Thanks for stopping by my lovely readers!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

September Empties | 2015

Hey everyone! Today I will be sharing with you all the items that I have used up this month! I must warn you that there are quite a few products that I did NOT enjoy and there are many samples that I went through.

Makeup
ELF Makeup Mist & Set - This is a holy grail product and there is no surprise that I have used up yet another one of these sprays.

Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate - This little jar did in fact last me a long time but it wasn't my favourite. I say this because I used it before I went to bed each night and the colour transferred onto my pillow case as well as my bed sheets. As far as hydration goes, it did do a decent job at moisturizing my lips however, I would not repurchase this particular colour but I would eventually be open to trying out another shade.

Face
Kandoo Flushable Wipes (50 count) - I have mentioned before how much I disliked these wipes. This (fortunately,) is my last pack that was in my stash. I do not like these as I usually need to use more than one to take off my makeup because of the small size of each wipe. They tear easily and dry out easily in this packaging.

Body
Body Luxuries Natural Loofah - I received this in a gift bag and I really wanted to like this product because it is very different than my usual loofah that I use every day, but I just couldn't. It is very hard even when you moisten it with a lot of water and it doesn't lather my shower gel very well. I don't feel like it is helping to cleanse my skin or even exfoliate my skin for that matter.

Gillette Satin Care Shave Gel in Passionista Fruit - This was a very basic and standard shave gel. The scent was okay but I always try out new scents and this wasn't anything that went above my expectations.

Bath & Body Works Body Lotion in Sexy Dahlia Rush (Discontinued) - I really enjoyed this scent and did not get sick of it as I went through the entire bottle. I have a matching fragrance spray that is in my rotation that you will hopefully see in an empties blog post in the near future!

Hands
Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - Love this scent and I still have many back-ups of it!

Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - You will be seeing more empties of this particular scent in the upcoming months!

Samples
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - I did enjoy trying out this cleanser. It is very gentle on the skin, does not irritate the skin, is not drying and your skin feels clean after using it.

Clinique Clarifying Lotion - This toner was pretty standard. It didn't do anything outstanding but performed as it should. It did have a strong smell to it but that did not deter me from trying out this product. The sample size contains the toner on a small wipe which I found to be a great idea.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + and Gel - In the past, I had purchased the lotion and did not enjoy it at all. It was too runny, greasy, smelled odd and the yellow colour just turned me off. The gel unfortunately did not change my mind and did not get me to like this particular product any more.

LA Fresh Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes - A long time ago I contemplated ordering these online but I never went through with it. Now after using these wipes, I deeply regret it! These wipes are everything! They are large in size, are very moist, take off your makeup off using only one wipe, they do not break and great for travel! After I use up my current makeup wipes, I will be purchasing these!

Amore Pacific Luminous Effect Brightening Serum - I applied this to my face at night after I had cleansed it and I really enjoyed it. It is on the more high-end side and just using it once is not enough to tell how well it brightened my face but I'm glad I had the chance to try it out!

Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer - I enjoyed using this as my skin felt very smooth and soft after using it. It is not greasy and did not break me out.

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Cream - I used this before I went to bed because it is slightly thicker and really moisturizes your skin. The smell is very nice and I looked forward to using this product each night!

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer - I used this sample on a day where I had two different events to go to in the same day just hours apart and my makeup never looked better! I barely had to touch up throughout the day and the formula was very luxurious but not greasy. My only wish is that it wasn't so expensive but other than that, this is truly a great product!

Ralph Lauren Romance - I used up my sample but this wasn't my kind of fragrance. It was nice to try something out of my comfort zone but I will not be purchasing it in the near future. Like the name suggests, it is a romantic, sexy, flirty fragrance that is not overly fruity smelling.

Kiehl's Crème de Corps - I really did not like this product. The smell is uninviting, the packaging is terrible as there is extra product inside that I cannot get out and it felt greasy on my skin.

STAY CLASSY.

August Empties | 2015

Hey everyone! It's time for another month of empties and another chance for you to see which products I went through this month as well as my honest opinion on each one.

Hair
Garnier Fructis Full & Plush - Fortifying Shampoo & Garnier Fructis Full & Plush - Fortifying Conditioner - I loved the smell of these products from the Full & Plush line! This is my second set of both products and it’s safe to say that I would definitely consider purchasing the full sized version of both to use in conjunction with one another.

Face
Lancome - Hypnose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara (sample) - I redeemed 100 points at Sephora for this mascara. It lasted me quite some time but overall, I wasn’t a huge fan. I say this because it didn’t give my lashes the volume that I was expecting it to and also, I had to apply several layers to my lashes. I have long lashes and I mainly buy volumizing mascaras. I was quite disappointed with this one. The brush head comes in an S shape, I honestly didn’t care for and this mascara flakes on me throughout the day. There is also a strange smell to it. Tip: do NOT wear this mascara on your bottom lashes on a hot summer day because it will transfer onto your skin and make you look like a raccoon! (It happened to me several times!)

BiorĂ© Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (14 count - 7 of each kind inside the box) - I really liked how there were both the face and nose strips because I have just been using the nose strips for years! I even used the face strips on my nose and it works just as well.

Elizabeth Grant Caviar Nutruriche with Torricelumn Eye Balm - This is the second jar of this particular product that I have gone through and I really am not a fan of it. The smell is bizarre and by comparing the two formulas, they definitely were not the same. One was more liquid-y than the other and from using this eye cream for a few months now, I still have yet to see results. I would not recommend this product. Also, I just want to point out that my mother even used this product as well and has seen no difference in her mature skin.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash (sample size - 5 ml) - I tried this out and it does a great job at cleansing my face at the end of a long day. It took off my mascara as well which is another plus. It is kind of like a gel that turns into a foam. I would consider purchasing it in the future.

Olay Fresh Effects Shine, Shine Go Away! Shine Minimizing Cleanser (sample - 20 ml) - This was a pretty standard cleanser. I do have another one that I have to go through but I am indifferent to this one. It did the job but didn’t do anything outstanding in my opinion. The formula is a grey colour but doesn’t transfer onto the skin that colour.

Hands
Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Peach Bellini - This scent is one of my favourite scents of all time from B&BW. I have purchased different items in this particular scent and am still not sick of it! It is one of my go-to scents and is great for giving as a gift.

Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Scarlet Pumpkin - This was a great scent that really reminds me that fall is just around the corner (sadly!) I smell a little bit of cinnamon in this soap which is a little twist to the soap.

Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Boardwalk Vanilla Cone - This scent is a summer staple in my household! We have multiples of these on hand and can’t get enough of the delicious vanilla smell. It definitely screams summer and it reminds you of a nice treat on a perfect summer’s day!

L’Occitane Hand Cream in Vanilla Bouquet - 20% Shea Butter (sample - 10 ml) - I adored this scent! However, the formula in my opinion isn’t that good. I like the vanilla scent more than the rose. Although I enjoyed using it, the formula isn’t my favourite and I would not purchase it for that reason alone.

Vitamins
Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies with Biotin (80 count) - I have an entire blog post dedicated to these gummies. I recommend them to everyone that asks about my nails and have even successfully got my family members to try them out. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Nature’s Bounty Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc with Vitamin D3 (200 caplets) - This is my second bottle of these vitamins. I have been taking them for half a year about and haven’t noticed anything different. I don’t think they are necessary for me personally. It claims on the bottle that it helps maintain bones but I really can't speak to that.

Miscellaneous
Johnson’s Baby Creamy Wash - This was the pink formula and I really didn’t care for it! I normally love Johnson’s Baby products but this one didn’t cut it for me. The scent wasn’t my favourite and I would not repurchase this particular item from the brand.

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo - This has been a staple in my bathroom for years and still will be for years to come. I can’t rave about this product enough! I use it to clean my makeup brushes as well as for many other things among cleaning my Alex & Ani bracelets.

Mitchum Gel Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant (Shower Fresh Scent) - I honestly think I got a bad batch! I purchased this in a two-pack when I was in the USA a while back and had no problems with the other stick. This one however leaked on my counter, on my hands and pretty much everywhere! It was messy to work with and poured out into the cap often times! It was watery and the formula would move from side to side in the stick before my very eyes. I understand that this is a gel but the consistency was more like water. None of the other bottles that I have ever purchased were like this one.

Crest 3D White Toothpaste - Brilliance - I had received an email with Shakira who was promoting this product and was totally suckered into trying it. It was on sale so i couldn’t resist. It was overpriced and didn’t do anything outstanding to make my teeth that much whiter. I would say skip this product.

Up & Up Cotton Balls (200 count) - I love these cotton balls from Target and they are really inexpensive. They are made with 100% real cotton. I will have to stock-up on these next time that I am in The States!

Thanks for stopping by!

STAY CLASSY.

July Empties | 2015

Hey everyone! It's that time again... We are wrapping another month and all my lovely readers get to take a look at all the products that I have used up for the month of July!

Hair
L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise OleoTherapy Deep Recovery Mask - This product includes 6 different flower oils, is 100% vegan, has natural botanicals inside and lasted me quite some time. I did enjoy using this mask but I read a sign in the store saying that they were clearing this item out because it is being discontinued. I hope not and maybe I am misinformed but I couldn't find much information about this product online. Anyway, the smell is not my favourite but the product made my hair very smooth to the touch. I would apply a nice layer onto my hair and sleep with it until I would wake up the next morning to wash it out of my hair. I did notice that this particular product is 50 ml less than some of the other hair masks L'Oreal offers.

Face
Up & Up Regular Cotton Rounds (100 count) - I have used up yet another pack of my favourite cotton rounds! These are made with 100% cotton and  are soft yet durable to get the job done. I use this as in conjunction with my toner after I cleanse my face and this just helps to remove any leftover makeup that wasn't washed away.

Kiehl's Rosa Arctica Youth Regenerating Cream with Rare "Resurrection Flower" - I enjoyed this product overall and it had a nice smell to it. I found that it was thick enough to use as a night cream. I tried another sample of the Kiehl's face cream in a previous empties post and didn't like it but this one really surpassed all my expectations! I do not think that I would purchase a full size version of it because it is quite expensive but I did enjoy trying it out though!

BiorĂ© Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser (7 ml) - This sample pack came in the box of Biore Nose Strips that I had purchased. This sample lasted me a few face washes and I really enjoyed using it! Despite reading the word 'charcoal' in the title and ingredient list, it is not messy - no staining! It comes out black but when you start to lather, it turns into a white foam. No mess!

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser  - This was a very standard and basic face wash. I would not go out of my way to re-purchase it but if I was in a pinch at the drugstore, I would consider buying this one. It contains 'bursting beads' which is nice and helps exfoliate your skin a little bit. I am not a morning person so the claim on the bottle about this product "wakes you up," doesn't apply to me unfortunately. I used it as my morning face wash.

Elizabeth Grant Collagen Re-Inforce Cleansing Oil (115 ml) - I'm sorry but this has to be one of the worst face products that I have ever used! It was so bad that I stopped using it for many months and later rediscovered it in my cupboard. I forced myself to finish the bottle so that it would not go to waste. I hate the smell of it, the product is VERY messy to use, (I tried to only use it in the shower,) and it BURNED when it got in my eyes. I understand that a face product is not meant for your eyes but when applying it on the face, it is bound to get in the eyes accidentally sometimes. It was simply awful and I do NOT recommend this product at all!

Hands
Quo Nail Polish Remover - Strengthening - This was probably one of the worst nail polishes removers that I have ever used. It has messy, terrible packaging and the smell is very strong. I honestly just wanted to finish the bottle up before it expired and will not be repurchasing the old formula again. However, I believe they either repackaged or reformulated this nail polish remover and if it is different, I will only consider purchasing again if the formula has changed.

Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve (30 ml) - I received this deluxe sample a few months back and I really wanted to like this product but I just couldn't. I didn't care for the smell, the product itself is so-so and I would not purchase a full size of this hand cream. I do have dry hands but I find that other products that I have tried in the past work better.

L'Occitane Delightful Rose Hand Cream with 20% Shea Butter (10 ml) - This was also a sample that I have been trying out and I do love the rose scent. I am not completely sold on the formula. I have to apply it twice in a short period of time because I do have dry hands and I really need to lock in that moisture. This is the perfect size to take when traveling or in your purse when you are on the go!

Body
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream (15 ml) - I bought this cream before my first surgery because I wanted to apply it to my scars to help heal them. It is hard to find something like this because most products are containing vitamin e and aren't the real deal. I highly recommend this and this is a great product for putting on tattoos for the after-care portion of the healing process. It was only $5 so you really can't go wrong with that price point! This little tub went a long way and lasted me 7 months; Two surgeries later and I was applying this product almost every single day.

Bath & Body Works Sensual Amber Body Lotion - This is a repurchase for me. I love this scent because it is something a little bit different from what I'm used to. I would describe it more of a warm, sexy smelling fragrance that is perfect to use in the fall season. There is also a note of vanilla which I think completes to fragrance.

Vitamins
Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies with Biotin (80 count) - This product really needs no introduction. If you have been reading my posts for awhile, you know that this is my holy grail and I have repurchased this many times. The only thing that I have noticed that is different is the top where the gummies come out of. It used to be a flip-up top and now it is a twist off which I actually prefer to be honest!

Nature's Bounty Vitamin D3 Gummies (90 count) - These gummies "helps in the development and maintenance of bones and teeth." I honestly didn't see a difference and didn't feel as though these gummies did anything for me. You only need to take one a day and this bottle lasted me for 3 months.

Teeth
DenTek Triple Clean Floss Picks (90 count) - This is by far my new favourite affordable brand of flossers! They do the job, really get in there and most importantly, they do not break! They are really deep cleaning and remove anything! I can't rave about these enough and finally found my new holy grail flossers!

STAY CLASSY.

Until next time!
