Adding Pins & Patches To Your Favourite Jean Jacket

Hey everyone! I absolutely love the concept of being able to add pins and patches to your jean jacket! It is something very customizable as well as personalized. Although patches are more permanent than pins, I wanted to show you how I dressed up my favourite jean jacket with removable pins from Urban Planet! I actually featured these pins in my Collective Haul video that I will link at the bottom of this post for you!

You can add as many of as few pins as you like. You can move them around on your jean jacket to different spots so that you have a new look every time! You can add them to only one area or one side of your jacket. The possibilities are endless! If you enjoy a more permanent look, you can sew or stitch them on yourself with some needle and thread! If  you are feeling daring, do a combination of both pins and patches!

The great thing is that everyone's jacket will look a little bit different and collecting pins as well as patches can be fun! You can start a collection and get some vintage ones or from online stores or even find unique ones when you go away on vacation! You can make that old jean jacket look new and fresh again!

As previously mentioned, I purchased all my pins from Urban Planet but you can find some great ones on Etsy or at Urban Outfitters! I am just starting my collection and plan on building it gradually!

Tip: Rock your new personalized jean jacket with a bright, fun lip colour to really showcase your personality!

DIY Coffee Scrub

Hey everyone! I absolutely love how this coffee scrub came out! My inspiration came from Pinterest, however I made it my own and fine-tuned it to my liking by adjusting the measurements. Coffee is an amazing natural exfoliator, coconut oil will give your skin the moisture that it needs and it also softens the skin. Brown sugar smells great and can help with cellulite.

You Will Need:

These are the measurements that I used and I did like how it came out. I do recommend that you liquify the coconut oil before putting it in the bowl.

This is how it looks when everything is mixed together.

I took the mixture that I created and transferred it into a mason jar.

The final product!

3 DIY Pinterest Inspired Halloween Treats

Hey everyone! Halloween is one of my all-time favourite holidays and I made some fun Pinterest Inspired Snacks that I'll teach you how to re-create! They are easy, fun and great kid-friendly desserts to make! I'm going to give you tips and advice on my blog!

To make the Candy Corn Jello Dessert you will need:
- A large mixing bowl
- One spoon
- Yellow & Orange Jello
- Cold water & Boiling water
- A funnel (I used a DIY one)
- Serving glasses or dishes

Then to top it off:

- Cool Whip (or you can substitute for whipped cream or vanilla ice cream)
- Candy Corn

The first step is to make the yellow Jello and I want to mention that I only used 2/3 of a cup of both boiling as well as cold water. I also used tall wine glasses to have my layer of Jello sitting inside. Before pouring in the orange layer, make sure that the yellow layer of Jello is COMPLETELY SET! That is honestly the most important part because we are layering two different colours of Jello here. You don't want a blend of the two colours - you want a clear line of separation between the two colours. After the yellow layer is set, go in with the orange Jello and evenly pour it on top of the first layer of yellow Jello. Make sure to use your funnel when pouring in the Jello if you don't have a steady hand!

You should have something looking like this. Put your glasses back into the fridge until the orange layer is fully set.

The best part in my opinion is adding the Cool Whip on top! (You can obviously add more than I did if you would like to.) Finally, finish it off with a candy corn which is definitely my favourite Halloween candy!

All Eyes On You
If you already watched my video, you are aware that I was trying to make red Jello worms but that was a total fail. You will not need: the straws, the rubber band or any plastic wrap.

Items Needed:
- Red Jello
- 2 packs of Gelatine (I used the Knox brand)
- Oreo Baking Crumbs (or you can just smash up some Oreos)
- A large mixing bowl
- A spoon
- Both boiling water & Cold water
- A Mason Jar
- Clear serving glasses
- A funnel (optional)

Basically what I did was to combine two packets of gelatine with the red jello (make sure to still follow the directions on the box by combining boiling water with cold water). Again, I used 2/3 of a cup boiling and cold water. I stirred it up well, poured it in the mason jar and then set it the fridge without the top of the mason jar.

To fast-forward a little bit, since the Jello worms didn't work out, I literally broke the red Jello apart with my hands into small pieces that we will be using for layering. I then took a spoon and created a layer of Jello at the bottom following with a layer of Oreo crumbs. I did that until I ran out of Jello and it was close enough to the rim of the glass.

To make the spooky eye, you will need:

- Two Oreos that you will halve
- Red food colouring
- A toothpick
- A black jelly bean
- A knife

This is really simple. Take an Oreo, halve it and we will only be using the part with the cream filling. You can either eat the other half, or add it into your terrifying dessert. Take your toothpick and pick up some of that red food colouring. You will be creating the red veins on the eyes using your toothpick. Once you are satisfied, take a black jelly bean, cut it in half carefully with a knife and then place it in the centre of your frightening eye.

Finish it off by garnishing your spooky dessert with an evil eye!

Halloween Chocolate Spider Webs

Ingredients Required:
- Stick pretzels
- Chocolate of your choosing
- A bowl
- A pot of boiling water (to melt the chocolate)
- A clear piping bag (or you can fill the chocolate in a Ziplock sandwich bag and cut a hole in the corner for the chocolate to come out of)
- Scissors
- Parchment Paper
- A funnel to guide the chocolate into the plastic bag (optional)

I used 10-12 stick pretzels for each spider web. You can alter that to your liking of course, but that's what ended up working best for me. I laid my spider webs on parchment paper, filled up plastic bag with the melted chocolate that I boiled in a bowl over the stove, (I did not end up using the funnel,) and started decorating!

I didn't end up using the funnel because I just spooned the chocolate into the plastic bag and started making my circles. Be careful because it can be hot! You can add more rings of chocolate but I actually ran out of chocolate and settled for two circles of chocolate.

If are anxious to eat the spider webs shortly after you made them, a trick is to put it in the fridge for however long they need to harden up. I didn't do that and I just kept them on the parchment paper on the table until they were ready. I then cut on each side with scissors around the spider webs, to have them still resting on the parchment paper but I wanted them to be separate. You can see in the video that it was much easier to take them off that way!

And here is a closer look at my current Halloween nails!

Until next time,

Easy DIY Decorative Pieces for Halloween

Hey everyone! I absolutely love Halloween! It is one of my favourite holidays!

I have a video on YouTube where I show you in a fun (and spooky way,) how to make these festive mason jars & DIY Potion Bottle along with the other two projects shown below! Watch it simply by clicking on the play button right underneath this text!

The Bloody Doormat

Supplies Needed:
- A plain white sheet
- A cup of water
- Red paint
- Fake Blood (I used the one by Graftobian)
- A disposable plate
- 2 paintbrushes (one smaller and one with larger bristles used for splattering the paint)
- Newspaper or flyers for lining the work space
- A board that will be the base of the doormat (you just wrap the canvas around it)
- YOUR HANDS!
*You can also use red nail polish. Get creative with it!

The Process:
I laid out my white sheet and folded it in half making sure to have the base underneath of it. I also lined my area with flyers to make sure that no paint would go on the carpet. I then took my larger paint brush and ran my finger through the bristles to splatter the paint. I also dabbed it on my canvas, ran the brush over and used the smaller brush to basically whip the paint onto the white sheet.

I also painted my hand red and then pressed my handprint firmly onto the canvas. I then added some water to my hand and a little more paint to get a more intense handprint. You can also use your feet to get bloody footprints onto you doormat, but I chose not to do that. I then used my Graftobian Blood Gel to apply even more paint on the work area.

I even dipped my paintbrush into the water and flicked it on my canvas to create a different texture and effect. I basically used all the aforementioned techniques until I covered my white sheet and then I let it dry overnight. When it is completely dry, cover your board (you can get samples or scrap pieces from Home Depot or similar places, but you may have to pay a fee,) with the sheet and you have yourself a bloody doormat! I chose not to cut my sheet because I want to use it next Halloween and I have an awesome idea in mind!

The Witch Broom

Supplies Needed:
- Smaller twigs and branches (used for the bristles)
- A larger branch (for the handle)
- String
- Rubber bands of different sizes
- Ribbon
- Safety Pins
- Possibly an extra set of hands
- Cutters that are meant to be used outdoors aka Pruners (I used two different kinds)
- Protective gloves (I used gardening gloves)

Instructions & Tips:
This project was trial and error for me. Also, I just walked to the park and gathered all of my branches and sticks for this DIY Project. In the video, you can see that I used smaller bunches of sticks and branches to put a rubber band around. I originally tried using one rubber band to fit all of the branches which was a complete fail because they slipped through and did not stay in place because there were too many of them. After you have your bunches all tied up, I tried going in with some string but that needed to be reinforced even more. I then went in with a larger rubber band to bond everything together.

Next, I leaned up the bottom portion of my broom and started cutting the excess pieces off. I wanted to make them a similar length. You can also notice that I used two different kinds of clippers. The branches with the leaves on them, I didn't end up liking after all. I removed all of those leaves and then was ready to put on the handle of my Witch Broom.

I had to cut an elastic in half and double knotted it to hold the handle with all the bristles aka branches in place. I then went in with some ribbon because I wanted to cover all: the rubber bands, the string and the indication where the handle is connected to the smaller branches. I just safety pinned mine twice but you can hot glue gun yours if you want. You can also add in some silver glitter to match your ribbon or something to glam up your broom, but I decided against that.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

DIY Diaper Cake & Helpful Tips

Hey everyone! I kept forgetting to post this and wanted to finally get it up for you because I have been on a DIY kick lately! I wanted to let you know that when browsing the internet, I searched and seen many different types of diaper cakes. I definitely did my research and wanted to share with you what worked for me as well as helpful tips & tricks along the way. Keep in mind: this was my very first time making a diaper cake.

The Base
One of the first things that I did was go out to Michael's to look for a good base. They were very overpriced and you get several in a pack but, I decided to make my own to save that cost. I went to my local grocery store, got a box and went to work! I found a circular object in my house (I suggest using something big enough such as a large bowl,) put it face down on the cardboard and trace a circle. Cut that circle out and then you have your base for your diaper cake! I think my diaper cake was about 17 inches because I cut over 2 inches over the circle that I drew. Also, my diaper cake is rather large in size because I cut my base quite large and kept adding layers of diapers to conceal the base. I also wanted the illusion that it was all diapers and the diaper cake was almost 'floating' if that makes sense.

Tips
When starting out, my friend advised me to buy a larger size in diapers rather than newborn because the diapers are obviously larger in size and you will have less to roll. Also, it will be extremely helpful if you get a friend or family member to help you roll the diapers because it can be rather time consuming. You essentially need to roll a diaper, put an elastic on it, place it on your diaper cake, bound that entire layer together with a much larger elastic and repeat. The extra set of hands will be much needed when holding that layer in-place and going in with the larger elastic. I feel that part is a two person job.

Also, some people who make a diaper cake decide to leave the rubber bands on and just conceal them will ribbon. I don't agree with that part because the mother-to-be will most likely use these diapers for her baby-to-be, and although it is a nice gesture to make one of these cakes, keep in mind that SHE will be the one having to take off all these rubber bands in the end. You might as well do it yourself to save her the work. After I took off the elastics of each individual diaper, you are left with the one giant elastic that is holding the entire layer in place. What I did was to take some thin ribbon (one that usual goes on gifts and the one that curls when you run it across the blade of a pair of scissors,) and wrapped it right below that large elastic. I fit it, cut the excess and double knotted it. I then took off the large elastic and all the mother-to-be needs to do from that point is to cut that thin piece of ribbon to release of all the diapers.

A Theme & Cute Accessories
Before you go out to the store and get overwhelmed by all the cute baby toys & accessories, I can't stress how important it is to choose a theme before you embark on your shopping trip! I decided on a nautical theme because that is what the mother-to-be wanted. You will definitely need a cake topper and a few small things to put throughout the cake. I decided on a practical duck washcloth with a floatie around its neck. To make it stay in place, I took a small safety pin (the ones that come on clothes to attach the label to the inside tag by the back of the neck,) and pinned underneath the duck washcloth to my layer right underneath the duck, of washcloths. I originally was going to do all three layers in diapers, but I came across a beautiful diaper cake that inspired my to do one layer in washcloths. I bought a pack of them and I fit them around to be my top layer. I had one washcloth with an anchor on it which I thought was perfect to make it stand out!

(Side View)

I bought a little kit full of miniature toiletries for the baby and used the Johnson's Baby Powder to wrap the cloth with the anchor around. Again, I used one of those small safety pins that comes on clothes, to secure the washcloth in the back. Try your best to conceal the safety pin so it doesn't even look like it is there. The other toiletries that fit with the theme, I put them throughout the diaper cake in different areas, and the other items that didn't go with the nautical theme, I put them back in the packaging that the kit came in, sealed it up and put it in a basket full of practical items for the mother-to-be. For instance, this is clearly a cake for a baby boy and I didn't want to include the pink tiny bottle of Johnson's because that would clash. While at the store, I found the cutest pair of little socks  that I had to purchase and include in my cake! It fit the theme perfectly and I already had an idea in my mind. That was to take one of those small little pins again, and pin it to the ribbon, letting the socks dangle effortlessly.

The Ribbon
You can obviously tell that I went to Michael's several times to get all the elements that I needed to make my diaper cake. I went back again to look for some ribbon. I went to several other stores and they either didn't have enough of the ribbon that I wanted to purchase, or it wasn't wide enough. I ended up stumbling across some fantastic ribbon in the clearance section and found the one that I ended up using on the diaper cake that went perfectly with my theme for only $2.99 CAD! It was originally retailing for $13.99 CAD (a piece) and I quickly picked up two rolls of ribbon. If you are wondering, the ribbon I used was 2.5 inches thick and one roll contained 3 yards. I used up an entire roll and I use some more from the second roll but not nearly as much. Before cutting pieces of ribbon to go around the diaper cake, I just measured each layer and let maybe half an inch of fabric overlap each other. I then cut the ribbon and hot glue gunned where the ribbon overlapped. Make sure to hold it in place for a few seconds to make sure that it bonds together before you let go and avoid burned yourself with the hot glue at all costs!

(Back View)

The Gold Letters
I tried looking everywhere for cute lettering and no one had either the exact: font, colour or size that I wanted. I gave up looking at various stores and instead, I decided after purchasing the ribbon, to measure how large I wanted the letters to be on it. From there, I just went on Google and found some customizable tools that allowed me to print right from home, the exact font, size and colour that I wanted. I decided to take it one step further by going to Michael's to purchase some card stock, and going back home to trace the letters onto the paper that I had just purchased. I then cut-out the letters individually and then hot glue gunned it onto the ribbon. I had to touch-up certain letters after they were all attached. If you try them method out, I am giving you a heads-up that you most likely will have to touch-up your letters after they adhere to the ribbon to ensure that the letters aren't trying to come off. That just will look tacky and cheap.

Time Management
This diaper cake took me around 5 hours to make. I only took one small break and another person was helping me roll the diapers as well as to hold the layers in place when I was rubber banding them. I would highly advice that you put aside a good portion of your day to do this. I am a perfectionist and I changed things a few times (such as moving the bottle of baby powder w the anchor washcloth around it, one tier above so that it was closer to the duck washcloth,) but overall, it is not something that will be done in an hour. Also, as you clearly read, I went to multiple stores to get all of my required items and some places such as Michael's, I had to go-to several times. I can't stress enough how important that it is to plan ahead if you embark on this project!

(This is how it looked on the table at the Baby Shower. The Johnson's Baby Shampoo fell down sadly but I fixed it after the picture!)

Transporting The Diaper Cake
It honestly wasn't hard at all. The hardest part was lifting it off the table in my house to be honest. It has some weight to it but it isn't overly heavy. I was just scared of my work coming undone but that should have been the least of my worries because I hot glue gunned, tied, safety pinned and secured everything to the best of my abilities. I drove to the venue and I had the diaper cake on the passenger seat beside me. You can put it in the trunk or if you are going to the shower/party with a friend or family member, you can have them hold it but wasn't difficult to transport it.

How Many Diapers I Used
I honestly lost track but it was over 100 for sure. My cake was on the larger size and I originally purchased the large box of Pampers that had 244 diapers inside or so. Any diapers that I didn't use, I put back into the box, sealed it with tape and gave it to the mother-to-be.

Overall, I had fun making this diaper cake and learned many things along the way! If you ever want me to film of video of myself making one in the future, let me know in the comments down below! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Styling A DIY Muscle Tee

Hey everyone! I recently took a trip to The CNE also known as The Canadian National Exhibition or The Ex for short. I went on the last day and it is always a good time there!

The top that I am wearing was originally an oversized t-shirt but I wore it so many times that the sleeves started to fade significantly. I didn't want to get rid of the shirt all together, and that is why I turned it into a muscle tee. My choker is also a DIY project that I featured in this blog post

Outfit Details:
Sunglasses - Target
DIY Choker Necklace
DIY Muscle Tee - Original T-shirt was bought from The Life Apparel
Shorts - Charlotte Russe
Black Low Top Converse
Bracelets: Alex & Ani & Evil Eye

Inside the well-known and very popular Food Building, my friend & I stopped at a place called 'Bouchard's Poutinery.' I love poutine and had to try-it while I was there! I decided on 'The Cheeseburger Poutine' while my friend got 'The Mexican Poutine.' They were both delicious and I love cheeseburgers in general so a poutine dressed as a cheeseburger was a match made in heaven for me!

Until next time,

DIY: Drying Out Flowers & Arranging Them

Hey everyone! Since it is wedding season, many of us have been surrounded by some gorgeous floral arrangements. It is a shame to let these beautiful flowers go to waste and that is why I decided to dry them out to preserve them. I took flowers from the centre piece at one wedding and the other flowers were from my bouquet of another wedding that I was part of.

To dry them out, take a rubber band and tie it over the stems but don't tie it too tight. You then will want to hang the flowers upside down to dry. I hung them in my basement because it is more cool down there. They hung down there on a hook for about 2-3 weeks. If you don't want to hang them up to dry, you can also put them in a brown paper bag to dry out with the stems poking out of the bag after you tie with a rubber band. You want to do this so that no air comes inside and if you are worried about the circulation, you can always poke some holes in the bag. You can preserve them with hairspray once they are dried out but I skipped that step.

One of the heads of the flowers did come off and I just glued it with a glue gun. Another tip I want to mention is to envision how you want your bouquet to look like before you start trimming the stems. I arranged it before making all the necessary cuts. I already had a glass vase in my house so I used that for the flowers to be placed in and then I cut a piece of ribbon to go around it for a little extra touch. That is of course optional and I will end up changing the ribbon one day once I get tired of the current one.

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

DIY Choker - 3 Different Styles for $15

Hey everyone! I have been noticing lately that everyone including the Kardashians have been rocking this fashionable choker circa 1990's. I went on the Urban Outfitters web site and seen that the necklace that I had been eyeing would cost me $22 CAD. I decided to make 3 different chokers for $15 CAD. You can see in the photo below, all the supplies that I purchased came from Michaels.

Choker #1

I will be wearing these shoes tomorrow night when I go out for my friend's birthday dinner and they were my inspiration behind this choker. At Michaels, there is ribbon that the floral department can cut for you if it is indicated on the roll. The smallest amount you can get cut is a half a meter. That is how much this piece is. I am just going to tie it at the back and layer another necklace with it tomorrow night!

Choker #2

I used the thicker ribbon for this and instead of purchasing a backing for the necklace to secure it, I decided to use one of my old necklaces that I no longer wear. You need the two pieces for your choker and I literally just cut the chain with my red scissors. You then have the two pieces you need! It is as easy as that. Also, make sure to measure the choker around your neck and cut off the excess before continuing with the next step.

Next, before you start stitching, I noticed that the ends were fraying more than I would like them to so I took a lighter and burned the ends to stop them from shedding. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian to help you with them step. I also did this step for Choker #1. You then are going to want to stitch your pieces to the ribbon. I made the mistake of using a chain with tiny links which made it more difficult to stitch and I had to use a smaller needle so keep that in mind. Once that step is done, connect the two pieces and you can rock your new choker!

When I cut what I needed from the thicker ribbon to make Choker #2, I still had a large enough piece left to make a fourth choker!

Choker #3

This is super easy and I just took the entire 3 yards of fabric, wrapped it around my neck several times and then added a cute little pendant. TIP: There may be kinks in the fabric because it was wrapped around a piece of cardboard. To get rid of the kinks, wrap it around something that is somewhat cylindrical such as a water bottle for a few hours, (I kept it wrapped overnight,) and then you will be free of kinks!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
