Adding Pins & Patches To Your Favourite Jean Jacket

Hey everyone! I absolutely love the concept of being able to add pins and patches to your jean jacket! It is something very customizable as well as personalized. Although patches are more permanent than pins, I wanted to show you how I dressed up my favourite jean jacket with removable pins from Urban Planet! I actually featured these pins in my Collective Haul video that I will link at the bottom of this post for you!

You can add as many of as few pins as you like. You can move them around on your jean jacket to different spots so that you have a new look every time! You can add them to only one area or one side of your jacket. The possibilities are endless! If you enjoy a more permanent look, you can sew or stitch them on yourself with some needle and thread! If  you are feeling daring, do a combination of both pins and patches!

The great thing is that everyone's jacket will look a little bit different and collecting pins as well as patches can be fun! You can start a collection and get some vintage ones or from online stores or even find unique ones when you go away on vacation! You can make that old jean jacket look new and fresh again!

As previously mentioned, I purchased all my pins from Urban Planet but you can find some great ones on Etsy or at Urban Outfitters! I am just starting my collection and plan on building it gradually!

Tip: Rock your new personalized jean jacket with a bright, fun lip colour to really showcase your personality!

DIY Coffee Scrub

Hey everyone! I absolutely love how this coffee scrub came out! My inspiration came from Pinterest, however I made it my own and fine-tuned it to my liking by adjusting the measurements. Coffee is an amazing natural exfoliator, coconut oil will give your skin the moisture that it needs and it also softens the skin. Brown sugar smells great and can help with cellulite.

You Will Need:

These are the measurements that I used and I did like how it came out. I do recommend that you liquify the coconut oil before putting it in the bowl.

This is how it looks when everything is mixed together.

I took the mixture that I created and transferred it into a mason jar.

The final product!

DIY Choker - 3 Different Styles for $15

Hey everyone! I have been noticing lately that everyone including the Kardashians have been rocking this fashionable choker circa 1990's. I went on the Urban Outfitters web site and seen that the necklace that I had been eyeing would cost me $22 CAD. I decided to make 3 different chokers for $15 CAD. You can see in the photo below, all the supplies that I purchased came from Michaels.

Choker #1

I will be wearing these shoes tomorrow night when I go out for my friend's birthday dinner and they were my inspiration behind this choker. At Michaels, there is ribbon that the floral department can cut for you if it is indicated on the roll. The smallest amount you can get cut is a half a meter. That is how much this piece is. I am just going to tie it at the back and layer another necklace with it tomorrow night!

Choker #2

I used the thicker ribbon for this and instead of purchasing a backing for the necklace to secure it, I decided to use one of my old necklaces that I no longer wear. You need the two pieces for your choker and I literally just cut the chain with my red scissors. You then have the two pieces you need! It is as easy as that. Also, make sure to measure the choker around your neck and cut off the excess before continuing with the next step.

Next, before you start stitching, I noticed that the ends were fraying more than I would like them to so I took a lighter and burned the ends to stop them from shedding. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian to help you with them step. I also did this step for Choker #1. You then are going to want to stitch your pieces to the ribbon. I made the mistake of using a chain with tiny links which made it more difficult to stitch and I had to use a smaller needle so keep that in mind. Once that step is done, connect the two pieces and you can rock your new choker!

When I cut what I needed from the thicker ribbon to make Choker #2, I still had a large enough piece left to make a fourth choker!

Choker #3

This is super easy and I just took the entire 3 yards of fabric, wrapped it around my neck several times and then added a cute little pendant. TIP: There may be kinks in the fabric because it was wrapped around a piece of cardboard. To get rid of the kinks, wrap it around something that is somewhat cylindrical such as a water bottle for a few hours, (I kept it wrapped overnight,) and then you will be free of kinks!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
