Estée Lauder Warehouse Sale Haul | September 2019

Hey everyone! I missed the previous sale due to work but I did go on Sunday, September 8th. I noticed that they made several changes to the sale such as having the $4 section before the bathrooms after you got your ticket checked. If you put anything in your bag, you have to leave it on the table before you use the washroom with an employee who looks after it. There were a lot of buy one get one free deals on the brushes, select perfumes and more specials like on a Darphin Moisturizer. They also advertised that no children under 16 were not allowed inside the sale on a big advertising board outside the building.
$4 Bin

Project Pan | Round 12

Hey everyone! I have been working on finishing up some of these items for quite some time so let's see my thoughts on each product!
GLAMGLOW GLOWSETTER Makeup Setting Spray (28 ml) - I have heard so many YouTubers talk about this setting spray and wanted to try it out for myself. The mist is very fine and it smells like a sweet, fruity candy which is rather nice. I really enjoyed using it to lock in all my makeup and I have purchased the full size which is $40. The travel sized version is $20.
Update: The full size is now $42 and the smaller one is $21.

Smashbox Primer Oil (4 ml) - I got this as a sample that came with my Sephora order and even though I have oily skin, I loved this product! I did feel that it helped me from being super oily throughout the day and it made my makeup lay on smoothly. I really enjoyed using it and I have so many other primers to go through otherwise, I’d purchase the full sized version!

Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation in Soft Ivory (30 ml) - This foundation was hyped up for quite some time and although I did enjoy using it, it isn’t one of my favourites as I prefer something more full coverage. I did like the applicator because it allowed me to scrape the sides of the bottle with it. You get a standard fluid once and it is very affordable. I do have an entire dedicated review on this foundation that you can check out!

Buxom Lipstick in Swinger - I got this in a set from Sephora a little while ago. I don’t think that they make this specific type of lipstick anymore actually. The colour is a pink/purple which I wore with a lip liner as my every day lipstick. I like the formula and this sample lasted me quite a while!

Colourpop Lippie Pencil in Lumière (1.0 g) - This shade was made by Kathleen Lights and it is described as a dusty mauve pink which is a great every day shade. I like their Lippie Pencils because they are creamy and glide onto the lips easily. I don’t like that the cap tends to fall off, the font on the packaging usually fades and the product towards the end usually falls out of the outer packaging. Regardless, I do like their lip liners!

Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla & Macadamia (19 ml) - I really enjoyed using this product and the scent was subtle yet really nice! The formula was great but I’m pretty sure that this product has been discontinued because I can’t seem to find any working links on where you can purchase this. I also went through the Rosé lip butter in the past which was amazing too!

Soft Lips Lip Protectant in Vanilla (2 g) - I felt as there was barely any product inside the tube and most of the design as well as the text faded. You also have to be mindful because there is an expiration date on the bottom of this product but it did rub off. The actual formula itself felt like it just sat on top of my lips, didn’t really moisturize them and I was frequently reapplying it which led me to use it up very quickly. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

LaNeige Lip Sleeping Mask (3 g) - I actually received this in my Glamour VoxBox a few months back. The scent reminds me of Starburst specifically but candy in general. This did a great job at moisturizing my lips and I’m a big fan of LaNeige products in general. I tend to apply it before my makeup application and before I go to sleep! I have really been wanting to try the Apple Lime which is limited edition!

MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash I received a sample of this mascara and it worked pretty well. I was on the MAC website and had read several people saying that the full size version simply isn’t the same due to the brush. It makes your lashes clumpy and it doesn’t curl the lashes. I will not be purchasing the larger size due to the reviews that I have read.

COVERGIRL Lash Blast Volume Mascara (10 ml) - This mascara was just okay and didn’t give my lashes a ton of volume. They did a great job at separating them though but I noticed the formula is on the dry side. This one is not the waterproof formula. I read some reviews and many people are commenting that they have changed the formula. I haven’t tried it before in the past so I have nothing to compare it to. This isn’t one of my favourite mascaras though but it wasn’t terrible.

September Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! Let's see all the items that I used up in the month of September!

Face
Sephora Brightening Eye Cream (20 ml) - I really enjoyed using this eye cream and it also contains hyaluronic acid! It includes natural ingredients and you can use this during the morning as well as at night. I used it during the morning and it wore well under makeup. I think this is my new favourite affordable eye cream and it lasted me awhile too!

Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream (2.5 ml) - I was using this as my travel eye cream but since we are in a pandemic and not travelling, I just decided to use it up. I found the best technique to use this eye cream is to warm it up between your ring fingers then tap it on lightly to your eye eye area. I did like it but the full size retails for $105 for 0.5 oz which is up there in price.

Hair

Garnier De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray (109 g) - This is the old packaging and I really liked this product! It comes out of an aerosol can and it definitely adds volume as well as body to the hair. This is in the middle of the scale for extra strong hold. I would 100% purchase this again in the future!

Bath & Body Works

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Pumpkin Apple (259 ml) - This is a great fall hand soap to have in your house and to get into the fall spirit. The notes include: red delicious apples, fall pumpkin and clove buds. I have the old packaging.

Car Fragrance Refill in Pumpkin Cupcake (6 ml) - I’ve had this in my drawer for awhile and finally decided to put it in my car. Fall is right around the corner and you can’t go wrong with this scent.

Vitamins/Supplements

Nature’s Bounty Triple Strength Cranberry (100 soft gels) - These were easy to swallow and lasted me a few months. They contain vitamin C & E. This is probably my favourite brand that makes vitamins and supplements.

Midol Menstrual Extra Strength (32 Caplets) - I honestly can’t be without these when I’m on my period and I always have them on hand. These really help to relive cramps and allow me to function without being in pain.

Promo/Samples - Hands

The Body Shop Hemp Hard Working Hand Protector (100 ml) - My friend got me this and it is definitely one of the best hand creams I have ever used. It has a nice scent to it and it really locks in that moisture. This tube lasted me quite some time and it didn’t irritate my psoriasis.

Body

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Whipped Body Balm (189 g) - I got this sent to me for my opinion and I actually haven’t tried anything in this line that I did not like! It is almost like a gel and it absorbs super quickly into the skin. It smells nice and I like that there is hyaluronic acid in the formula which is very hydrating.

MAC Lady Danger (1.5 ml) - I’m pretty sure that this fragrance has been discontinued. It smells deep and warm. This would be a great scent to wear on a night out or in the fall time especially. I really enjoyed wearing it!

Degree Motion Sense Stay Fresh Citrus & Bergamot Scent (48 g) - This one was just alright and I felt like I had to reapply it throughout the day. I did really enjoy the scent though.

Drinks

Tetley Cold Infusions in Strawberry & Watermelon (1 infuser) - I got this sent to me in the mail and I really didn’t know what to expect. You want to put the bag into a water bottle and shake it. I refilled mine 3 times and obviously the taste becomes less weak the more you infuse it. I actually really liked it and would consider purchasing the full size.

Tetley Cold Infusions in Mint, Lemon & Cucumber (1 infuser) - This is probably my favourite flavour so far and it reminds me of Lime Kool-Aid! I really like the concept behind it and I’m going to have to check it out next time I’m at the store.

Tetley Cold Infusions in Raspberry & Cranberry (1 infuser) - This was my least favourite out of the three but it was not bad. I wish that it tasted more sweet like raspberry than slightly bitter like cranberry.

Starbucks Sumatra Dark Roast Ground Coffee (340 g) - This coffee is described as earthy and herbal. I really like the taste of it and this is the ground version. You can find it at your local grocery store.

September Empties | 2019

Hey everyone! It finally feels like Fall outside and let's go through all my empties for the month of September!

Face
Origins A Perfect World SPF 40 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea (15 ml) - I purchased this for $4 at the Estée Lauder Warehouse Sale | Winter 2018. I honestly did not like this moisturizer and consider it more of a thick sunscreen. I was reading reviews and others say that this product was reformulated for the worse. It did last me a long time but I think it made my break out slightly. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen and I originally brought this with me when I was travelling and then ended up just wanting to finish it. It is free of mineral oil and petroleum which is a huge plus.

Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer (15.71 ml) - I got this in a set from the Sephora website and I felt that it was very lightweight on the face. I used it at night before bed and it was more of a gel consistency. It did absorb pretty quickly and it smells alright. It isn’t a bad product but I don’t feel the need to purchase a larger size.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum (30 ml) - I purchased this for $5 at the TSC Warehouse Sale which is a steal as it retails for $77 on the Sephora website. I found this to be a good serum but it stops pumping and there is a ton of product left at the bottom. You just need to scoop it out somehow. I also feel like I went through this rather quickly but I used it at night and it absorbed quickly into my skin. It layered well with my other skincare products and I do have a back-up of this in my drawer.

Elizabeth Grant Victory Eye Cream (20 ml) - I have tried many different eye creams from Elizabeth Grant in the past and I honestly do not see a difference in my eye area. I am over them and am moving on to a new brand.

Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (8 count) - I have purchased these for years and will continue to buy it. My brother even uses them and it really helps get rid of all the gunk on my nose.

Sheet & Eye Masks
Garnier Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask with Sakura Extract (32 ml) - I know that I’ve featured this a lot in the past but I’m happy to say that this is the last one in my stash! I also did talk about it most recently in my August Empties | 2019.

Missha Green Tea Face Mask (0.19 g) - I actually got this from a friend and really enjoyed this mask. It is very lightweight and thin. There was a lot of essence that dripped so I would recommend applying it over a sink. I left mine on for 20 minutes and it claims to be a water type essence to help moisturize as well as absorb easily into the ski. I would definitely buy this on my own.

Sephora Cucumber Eye Mask (1 pair) - I actually got this awhile ago inside a holiday cracker. This is expensive for what it is as it retails for $7 online. It claims to be high-performance bio-cellulose patches that is dermatologically tested. They use cucumber extract which help de-puff the under eyes as well as soothe the eye contours.

Bath & Body Works
Scentportable in Pumpkin Cupcake (6 ml) - This has a nice sweet scent to it and is perfect to add into the car around Fall. The notes include: whipped buttercream, Madagascar vanilla, pumpkin spice and freshly baked cupcake. It honestly smells like baked goods and not so much pumpkin which is fine with me!

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Toasted S’mores (259 ml) - This is a perfect fall scent and the packaging is super cute. The notes include: toasted marshmallow, bourbon vanilla and cinnamon sprinkles. I purchased this scent last year and can no longer find it on the website.

Body
Mistral Bar Soap in Acai (7 oz/200 g) - The notes are: blackcurrant, peach and apple with patchouli and cedarwood. It smells great and is not too overpoweing. I purchased this at Anthropologie at CF Shops at Don Mills. They were having 20% off the entire store and decided to take advantage of the sale. The soap bars are hand-wrapped in paper which gives it a nice touch. It normally retails for $8 CAD and it is made in France.

Banana Boat Lotion with Green Tea SPF 8 (236 ml) - I bought this in the USA awhile ago and never seen it sold in Canada. I mainly use this as a lotion as it really doesn’t offer much protection against the sun. It smells great and very tropical being the original banana coconut rum fragrance. It doesn’t feel sticky, absorbs will into the skin and I like the squeeze tube. It claims to be water resistant for 80 minutes and that it is enriched with antioxidants. It's now been discontinued.

Kōl Fabric Poufs Charcoal Infused (2 Pack) - This is meant to be a charcoal fiber pouf that removes toxins and oils from your skin. I actually got this as part of a gift and if you look online, the reviews are not good. Mine did start to unravel on the third day. My guess is that it was either from Bluenotes or Urban Planet. I definitely would not recommend this at all.

Promo/Samples - Face
Baxter Oil Free Moisturizer (5 ml) - I actually received this on the plane when I flew premium economy in my toiletry bag. This claims to be for all skin types. In the formula there is: chamomile, camellia extract and vitamin E. I used this in the morning and it absorbed quickly. It also layered well under makeup and did not irritate my skin. It is very lightweight and it didn’t leave an oily residue. I really enjoyed using it and I would recommend it.

Body
Degree Motionsense Ultra Clear Pure Rain Antiperspirant (48 g) - I got this sent to me for free for my consideration and it has turned into my favourite deodorant! It lasts on me all day, it smells fresh and I don’t get any white marks on my clothes! You can purchase it at Wal Mart for only $3 and I plan on purchasing it after I finish up this one!

Don't forget to check out my August Empties!

September Empties | 2018

Hey everyone! I'm back on track with my Empties posts and wanted to share with you all the items I used up for the month of September! Also just so you know, I was on vacation and then my trackpad on my laptop stopped working which was definitely a set back.

Face
Bioré Limited Edition Pore Strips in Citrus Crush Scent (8 count) - These pore strips are fun and just as effective as the original ones! I bought mine in the USA at Ulta on a sale! This particular design is now discontinued.

Juice Beauty Organic Treatment Oil (30 ml) - This is a fantastic facial oil that made my face very soft! They have raised the price several months ago which I speak about in my Juice Beauty Review blog post. It lasted me a long time and even worked well under makeup! What I didn’t like about this product is that the label came off in black pieces and sometimes even transferred onto my face which was very annoying. Most of the label has faded as you can tell by the photo.

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer (15 ml) - This was a great moisturizer to use at night as part of my skincare routine. It is $51 for the full size jar which houses 50 ml of product. I’m not ready to make that splurge but it smelled great and really hydrated my skin! I originally featured this in my Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale | Winter 2017.

Shiseido Facial Cotton (165 sheets) - These are on the more expensive side as 165 facial cotton sheets will run you $11. They are soft and luxurious but they are cotton after all. Regular cotton rounds usually work just as well and I cut mine in half to really get more bang for my buck. These work well as I used them for toning my face at the end of the night but I would not run out and repurchase these any time soon. I do have a blog post called Regular Cotton Pads vs Shiseido Facial Cotton where I compare the two!

Bath & Body Works
Car Scentportable in Leaves (6 ml) - This is such a classic Fall scent from Bath & Body Works that I look forward to each year and it never gets old for me.

Gentle Exfoliating Hand Soap with Monoi Oil in Mango Man Tai (245 ml) - This hand soap smelled great in the downstairs bathroom and was probably one of my favourite scents from Bath & Body Works! I no longer see it on their website unfortunately so it may just be a seasonal scent. The packaging was sleek and looked great on the counter!

Creamy Luxe Hand Soap in Watermelon Lemonade (236 ml) - This scent was on the stronger side in my opinion, and it is perfect for Summer. There are notes of juicy watermelon and sweet meyer lemon. This hand soap was just alright and I wouldn’t go out to repurchase it any time soon.

Vitamins
Nature’s Bounty B-12 Vitamins 2500 mcg (50 micro tablets) - These are cherry favoured and are quick dissolve. These are the best B-12 tablets that I have taken so far as they do not have a bad taste and do not hurt my stomach. I did feel that I had more energy throughout the day and even received some comments on that same topic. They worked for me and are very affordable at Walmart!

Promo/Samples - Face, Body & Hands
Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster (1.5 ml) - I am on the fence about this because it is an extra step in my skin care routine and I haven’t seen any difference in my skin. It did feel sticky on the face and this claims to be for all skin types including sensitive. You only need 2 drops of product and you can use it both in the morning as well as the evening. This product is made in France.

Hermetise Professional Hand Cream (1.5 ml) - This was a free sample given to me at one of those stands in the mall. I felt that I had to use quite a bit of product in one application to get my hands to feel soft. Also, I honestly think this hand cream smells like hairspray which throws me off. This hand cream is expensive as the full size version is $79 USD and I really would not pay that for this product as many drugstore alternatives work just as good if not better!

Bliss Lemon & Sage Body Butter (7 ml) - This smells incredible and would be perfect for Spring especially because the formula is not too heavy! The scent is also aligned perfectly with that season! It claims to be a maximum moisture cream, it absorbed quickly into the skin and was not great. It is cruelty-free, made in the USA and a 200 ml tube at Ulta is only $12 but often times goes on sale! I will repurchase this the next time I am in need of a new body butter but currently, I am all stocked-up!

September Empties | 2017

Hey everyone! It is time for another month of empties and you can see which products that I went through for the month of September as well as my honest thoughts on each item. Let's get into it!

Face
Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Restorative Radiance Oil (4 ml) - This is my second bottle of this exact product and as much as I do enjoy using it to mix in with my moisturizer, I’m not quite sure that I see a huge difference in my skin. For that reason, I am going to continue to try out other oils and pick my favourite later down the road. I'm pretty sure this is discontinued.

Cleansing Wipes - Fresh Berries Scented (25 count) - I purchased these from Michaels for a few dollars and although they are not my favourite makeup wipes to use, they do a pretty good job at removing swatches off my arms. I prefer to use them that way rather than to remove makeup off of my face even though I will admit, I still used them for that purpose.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips for the Face (8 count) - These are definitely my go-to pore strips and they make such a difference! I use the face strips on my face because they are wider as well as larger meaning that they take more off than the ones designed just for your nose. The ones for the face are getting discontinued but there are other great ones to choose from.

Fruits & Passion Avocado Face Mask This sheet mask had an odd scent to it that is very hard to pinpoint. It is thinner than other sheet masks that I have tried in the past and you need to be careful when applying it so that it does not rip. This was a little harder to put on my face than other sheet masks and this one wasn’t my favourite to be honest with you. It was good at adding moisture back into my face though because my skin was very dehydrated.

Fruits & Passion Blueberry Face Mask This mask is enriched with blueberry extract which is used for soothing the skin and known for its antioxidant properties. This didn’t smell like blueberries too me but my skin drank up this sheet mask! I left it on for 15 minutes and most of the essence was already absorbed by my skin.

Fruits & Passion Olive Face Mask This mask is enriched with olive extract and it is known for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. This didn’t really smell like anything and my face has been dehydrated from travelling. Therefore, I am glad that I brought and used this mask while on vacation!

Fruits & Passion Cucumber Face Mask It is enriched with cucumber extract and is known for its hydrating as well as its soothing properties. This smelled fantastic and definitely the best out of all the masks from Fruits & Passion that I have tried this far!

Vitamins/Supplements
Nature’s Bounty Quick Dissolve B-12 (2500 mcg)Out of all the B-12 supplements that I have tried, these are by far the best for a few reasons. First, the cherry taste is very pleasant, the pills aren’t too large and they do dissolve rather quickly. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase these again in the future!

Midol Extra Strength (32 caplets) - I have rather annoying and painful menstrual cramps which I need to keep under control. I honestly can’t be without Midol when Mother Nature pays me a visit and always have them on deck!

Emergen-C Vitamin and Mineral Supplement in Lemon Lime (30 packets) - I also make sure to stock-up on these when I feel myself about to get sick. I have also been traveling this month and the change in climate can definitely bring on a cold. This is an excellent way to boost your vitamin c and I highly recommend this miracle worker!

Bath & Body Works
Scentportable in Sweater Weather This is honestly a great fragrance to use in the Fall and Winter months. It is a nice masculine scent that is not overpowering. I definitely recommend that everyone at least smells this scent at least once!

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Peach Bellini (259 ml) - This is a go-to scent in my household and it definitely gets many compliments by guests whenever they use this particular scent! This is the old packaging and they have a new design on the more current bottle.

Promo/Samples - Face
L’Occitane Cleansing Oil 5% Shea (30 ml) - I received this as a free gift at my L’Occitane store and I had never even tried it or heard of it previously. This did a pretty good job at removing my makeup but I did have to double cleanse when using this product. The full size version retails for $29 CAD for 200 ml of product that comes in a pump bottle.

Perfect Derm Collagen Mask (1 Sheet) - I found this mask to be very wet and with excess essence I would apply to both my neck as well as my decolletage. I like applying products containing collagen to my skin because once you get older, the elasticity in your skin wears down and collagen helps to give my elasticity to the skin thus in turn, makes the skin more firm. This wasn’t my favourite sheet mask but I didn’t dislike it.
