The Body Shop - Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream Review

Hey everyone! I have to start off saying that one of my all time favourite products from The Body Shop is their original Vitamin E Cream. With that being said, I had high hopes for this product and was intrigued to try it because it is night cream.

Claims & Benefits
This Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream has rich wheat germ inside which helps replenish and revitalize your skin while you get your beauty sleep. This claims to intensively hydrate your skin and that it is a rich, nourishing cream which will leave your skin soft as well as smooth. This cream will replenish antioxidant and moisture levels while you sleep and that is when your skin is the most receptive.

Price & 2 Different Sizes
It does come in two sizes: 15 ml of product will cost you $6 and $50 ml of the Vitamin E cream will run you $22. It comes in pink jar and I love the packaging because it is foolproof.

How It Performed
Some other reviews said that they found this cream to be too heavy and greasy to be used during the day time. I would have to agree and will definitely only use this during the night time as the name of it suggests. This would be best to use in the colder months to add moisture back into your face as the harsh weather can often times dry out our skin. It did have a Vitamin E scent to it which I didn't mind at all.

Would I Purchase It?
I honestly don't think that I would purchase this because I love the regular Vitamin E cream that I spoke about previously, and I was constantly comparing both products. If this product felt less greasy on my face, I would purchase it in a heartbeat because I have oily skin and I really don't need anymore than what I already have. This product will be best for dry skin types and I would suggest that you use it at night like the name of the product suggests. I am a huge fan of Vitamin E and would have to skip on this in the future.

Until next time,

Marcelle BB Cream in Fair | Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! I have been out of my BB Cream for awhile and I really wanted to pick-up a new one because Summer is right around the corner! I decided to purchase the Marcelle BB Cream in Fair.

Price & Shade Selection
Marcelle is a Canadian Company and I purchased mine online from Shoppers Drug Mart's Beauty Boutique. It retails for $22.95 CAD for 1.5 oz/45 ml of product. As far as the shade selection, there are only 5 shades to choose from. I picked mine up in the shade fair and it doesn't have a pink undertone which I definitely appreciate. I would say that you can build it up to a medium coverage on the skin. It isn't full coverage because my freckles were still peaking through with two layers on the skin.

(After it's blended into the skin)

Pros/Cons
An obvious pro to this product is that it is an 8-in-1 product that does 8 different things in 1 product. Those include: evening out your skin tone, offers immediate and long-term hydrating benefits, protects from premature aging and environmental stresses, promotes skin regeneration, controls shine, soothes and calms, reduces the appearance of imperfections and lastly, provides anti-dull radiant complexion. Some more pros are: it is 100% perfume free, it is for all skin types, it's hypoallergenic, it is Dermatologist tested and it even has the Canadian Dermatology Association logo on the box. Another pro is that you are getting more than 1 oz of product which is generous and should last me awhile.

One immediate con that comes to my mind is that there is no sunscreen inside the formula. That may be a pro to some, but I like using BB Creams in the Summer and my preference is that they have it inside to help protect my face from the potential harmful UV rays. Another con is that there are only 5 shades which is not a wide range at all. I feel like BB Creams in general really need to cater to more skin tones and branch out more.

Should You Purchase?
This is a versatile product because you can just apply the BB Cream all over your face or you can apply a layer of it before you go in with your foundation (which I normally tend to do.) This product felt very lightweight on the face, did not have a strong scent or any that I could detect for that matter, it layered well on the skin and was not as full coverage as my Clarins BB Cream, but this was not cakey on the face at all. I wouldn't just apply this product onto my face and walk out of the house because it has no SPF. This is a great lightweight product for people with dry skin that want a natural look. It isn't my favourite BB Cream but it works well and I will continue to use up the tube. I like that pump is at the bottom and you can really use up every last drop of product.

3 Favourite Exfoliators for the Face

Hey everyone! There are many different kinds and forms of exfoliators on the market. Whether it is an exfoliator in stick form, or an enzyme powder in a jar or even a peeling gel that rolls away your dead skin. You want to exfoliate your skin after you cleanse it making it the second step in your skincare routine. I wanted to share with you my favourite ones that I have been testing out.

Tarte FRXXXTION Stick Exfoliating Cleanser - This retails for $29 CAD on the Sephora web site and you get 30 grams or 1 oz of product. I love the purple packaging and that it is a twist up! It is very easy to use and great for taking on the go! This is a 3-in-1 product because you can use it as: a cleanser, an exfoliator or as a mask if you choose to leave it on for longer. It is hypoallergenic, the stick is a gel, great for all all skin types and there is a rather cool ingredient inside called 'Fossilized Earth Microexfoliants.' To use it, you basically twist it up, apply it onto your face with the stick and then you massage it into your skin to really help exfoliate your face. It goes on black but it is not messy to use. This is a great product but it can get used up rather quickly so keep that in mind!

Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel - I actually featured this in a blog post where I spoke about a dupe for this exact product. I really like using it because you can actually see the dead skin rolling up on your face! It gets rid of the dead layer and leaves your skin feeling so soft! This came in the Skin Saver PTR Kit that you get get on the Sephora web site. For 100 ml of product or 3.4 oz, it retails for $60 CAD. This is honestly a unique product and these are a ton of enzymes in this product. It is great for all skin types and you can give yourself a little massage when you work the product into your skin! This is especially great to use in the colder months when your skin is dry and flaky.

Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder - This is the most expensive one that I am going to share with you as it retails for $78 CAD on the Sephora site for 60 grams of product or 2.1 oz. This comes in a jar and it is a water activated enzyme powder. It helps get rid of any dead skin cells and leaves your skin feeling baby soft! This is best suited for normal and combination skin and is a great solution for those who have an uneven skin tone or uneven texture. It can also help if you have dull skin because this will make it more radiant and it is not harsh on the skin at all! This is dermatologist-tested, it does not irritate your skin, cruelty-free and there are many high quality ingredients inside. Even though I have oily skin, I still really enjoy using this enzyme powder to help exfoliate my skin! I purchased my smaller sized version on the Sephora web site for $32 CAD and it is called the 'Kyoto Cleanse.' It may be hard to see in the photo, but there is a small hole for the opening where the product comes out.

Just be advised that these are all smaller sized versions that I have to simply try-out the product. I have included the actual size of the full sized versions that you will receive if you do go ahead and purchase any one of these products.

All About GLAMGLOW

Hey everyone! I have tried out some samples from Sephora in the past from the brand GLAMGLOW, and I finally purchased a few items when I was at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale a few weeks ago. I have done some research and wanted to share it with my readers!

GLAMGLOW was founded in 2010 by Glenn & Shannon Dellimore  and the brand was exclusively used backstage in Hollywood by professionals. Their patented TEAOXI real leaf technology has not only won them many beauty awards, but it has also given them a great reputation around the globe.

I have recently used a sample of their GRAVITYMUD Firming Treatment mask and I absolutely loved it! It is a peel-off mask and it changes colour on your face as you wait for it to dry. I loved the results that it gave me and I will definitely be purchasing the full sized version when I run out of my other masks.

I tried a sample of the YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment mask from Sephora and liked it so much that I purchased it when I was at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale

It was $10 for the jar and this is a great mask for those who have: fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, dullness as well as an uneven skin texture. This mask will brighten, smooth, tighten, minimize pores and give your skin a more youthful appearance.

The POWDERMUD DualCleanse Treatment is a mud to oil cleansing treatment for your face. This is a great mask for those who suffer from: dryness, oiliness, dullness and uneven skin texture.

You want to apply a thin layer to dry skin and to get the mud transform into oil, all you do is get your face wet then use circular motions to transform it into an oil cleansing treatment.

You are almost getting a 2-in-1 treatment and this will help get rid of any weekly build-up on your skin.

The THIRSTYCLEANSE Daily Hydrating Cleanser is a mud to foam cleanser that is perfect for dry or dehydrated skin. This is great for me to use in the winter time when the temperature is below 0 degrees celsius.

The 1 oz size is great to travel with and make sure that you don't try to use this product as a mask because it is in-fact a cleanser! It cleanses your skin thoroughly and can even remove makeup. I absolutely love that it has a pump!
