December Empties | 2018

Hey everyone! Wishing everyone a happy, healthy 2019!

Face
Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips with Citrus Crush Scent in Pink Lemonade (8 count) - I really like these and I hope that they consider making these permanent! The print is fun and the strips are enjoyable to use! As a plus, they even smell like citrus!

Tatcha Dewy Skin Mist Mini (12 ml) - I honestly just purchased to see what the hype is about because I feel as though everyone on YouTube talks about this spray. I didn’t particularly care for it and the mist is very fine. I used it after my skincare routine as the last step and wouldn’t use it to set my makeup as I have very oily skin. It is an expensive product as I ran through this very quickly as it is only 12 ml, and the mini was $24 which is certainly up there in price. I wouldn’t repurchase it but the packaging is beautiful and I much prefer using other Tatcha products.
Update: The mini now retails for $26.

Face Masks
Disney Green Tea Face Mask (18 ml) - I did enjoy using this one and it is cooling on the skin. It claims to soothe and hydrate the face. It was an essence, most of it absorbed into my skin and I left it on for 25 minutes. The packaging is obviously very cute and it’s my favourite one that I have tried so far! I purchased it at Target for $1.50 on clearance and it is made in Korea.

Disney Charcoal Face Mask (18 ml) - The mask itself is black and the essence is clear. It claims to help remove toxins from the skin and that it minimizes pores. The chin part was strange because it appeared to be split in half when I took it out of the packaging. It was definitely a strange design! It felt nice on the skin but it isn’t amongst my favourites and I can’t seem to find it online anymore.

Sephora Pineapple Nose Mask (1 bio-cellulose mask) - It smells great but it can be rather messy. There are also 2 different films that you need to peel off. Peeling off the first one is a breeze but for the second one, the mask was already on my nose and I had to use my nail to get it separated from the actual mask. Don’t try touching the actual mask itself because it will move around so I ended up peeling off the second film completely and putting that over the actual mask to move it in place. This is more trouble that it is worth in my opinion and I wouldn’t recommend it. I would much prefer to use nose strips rather than this nose mask as I did not see any results. It is supposed to tighten and minimize pores. The item only comes in sets.

Vitamins/Supplements
Emergen-C Energy + Flavoured Fizzy Drink Mix in Mango Peach (18 packets) - I originally purchased mine from Wal Mart before I left on vacation as I was going to be in different time zones. They had a 2 for $20 deal which is incredible! This one is definitely fizzy and I found that there wasn’t too much caffeine but did make me more alert which is what I wanted. This flavour wasn’t my favourite as it left a weird after taste so I want to try out another flavour but I did really like the product!

Bath & Body Works
Car Fragrance Refill in ’Tis The Season (6 ml) - This is a great classic, seasonal scent from Bath & Body Works. I purchased two a while back and it does remind me of the smell of cloves. The notes include: red delicious apple, sweet cinnamon bark and cedarwood.

Aromatherapy Sleep Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Lavender Cedarwood (259 ml) - This hand soap is made with natural essential oils and it smells great! The lavender oil helps you to feel more tranquil and the cedar wood oil helps clam your mind.

Promo/Samples - Face
Amore Pacific The Essential Creme Fluid (1 ml) - I have liked everything that I have tried from this brand and this is no exception! I originally thought that this was an essence but it’s a moisturizer. It smells great and the consistency is very thin so it can run right through the cracks between your fingers if you aren’t careful! It felt great on the skin and absorbed quickly. The full size retails for $125 for 90 ml of product and it is made in Korea.
Update: It now retails for $129 at Sephora.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief (1.5 ml) - I found that this product absorbed into my skin quickly but Clinique skincare has always been hit and miss for me. It had a lightweight texture that was similar to a gel-cream consistency. I recently learned that this particular item has been discontinued but there are other product available within the moisture surge line.

Caudalie Vine[activ] Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream (1 ml) - This sample gave me so many uses! The product is a little bit thicker which I prefer and I used it both night as well as morning. It is a French company and there are no parabens, phthalates or sulfates. I really enjoyed using this sample!

First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Coconut Water Cream (9.6 g/0.34 oz) - This is a lightweight product that absorbs quickly into the skin. It claims to help hydrate, smooth and recharge the skin. It also says that it is safe for sensitive skin. I used this in the morning with my sunscreen and makeup layered well over it. It is made in the USA and I really enjoyed using my sample from Sephora!

Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Restorative Night Cream (14 ml) - I actually really enjoyed using night cream and can see why it’s rated so highly! There is blackberry complex and active naturals inside the formula. It is hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and non-greasy. It smells great and I would purchase the full sized version!

Eyes
Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Kitten, Grace & Twig (.09 ml x 3) - I received this as a free sample from Sephora and I can finally see what all the hype is about! I applied these onto my lids with a authentic brush and then set some translucent powder over it. It looks great and was an easy eye look to wear to work! The lasting powder on them was pretty good too as I have oily eyelids and it didn’t just fade into nothing like other products tend to do on my eyes.
