Clarins Daily Energizer Cream Review

Hey everyone! Today I will be reviewing the Clarins Daily Energizer Cream. Scroll down to view some photos and hear what I have to say about the product.

Product Claims & Overview
This claims to: moisturize the skin, help it look younger as well as healthy-looking and that it will give you an even, radiant complexion. It is a non-oily energizing cream that is rich in vitamin C, alchemilla, turmeric and ginkgo biloba extracts. This ingredient has been more popular in skincare products over the recent years and the history if rather fascinating to me! 'Ginkgo biloba is an ancient botanical species and is the only tree to have survived the bombing of Hiroshima.' It is very resistant and in the Fall, the leaves of the plant turn gold. The leaves are used both in cosmetics as well as the medical field. There are soothing benefits and also anti-free radical benefits as well as that it helps the skin's microcirculation.

This product is made in France and has a shelf life of 18 months. I much prefer this cream to the Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream which I have an entire review on. This cream is more lightweight, it feels silkier in my opinion and is an overall great day cream. It is recommended to use under makeup as a base and it feels luxurious on the skin. There is a scent to it and it smells rather floral.

Where To Buy, Size & Price
You can purchase this online at Walmart and it seems like you can only get it internationally now. It contains 30 ml/1 oz of product in a nice frosted jar with a white lid. It retails for $29.

Should You Purchase & How It Worked With My Skin Type?
I would describe this as a step up from a drugstore moisturizer but it isn't so expensive that you can't afford it. This is a quality product and the packaging looks great on a vanity! They also have a cream-gel and various other products within this line. I skipped the cream-gel due to my oily skin type and thought this one would be a better fit. This cream got really rave reviews online and my skin felt so soft after using it but it did not feel sticky as it absorbs into the skin very nicely. If you have nails then I suggest you use a spatula or use your knuckle to get product out without getting it behind your nails because the jar is rather deep. I used this for a week straight starting on Thursday, November 9th and my face definitely felt more soft after using this cream. It is not too thick to use in the morning and I looked forward to use this cream each morning.

Update: Pretty sure that it has been discontinued.

Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream Unboxing & Review

Hey everyone! I recently received the Clarins Voxbox from Influenster and I was so excited to open it up! I'll be reviewing it for you as well as sharing my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is how the box was packaged and I thought they added a cute touch by using white and red which are the colours on the Canadian flag.

Overview & Claims
When you open up the box, your receive an information card telling you about the product inside and you also get the actual product itself. They are introducing the new Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream which is targeted to those with normal to dry skin. They sent me a tube that contains 15 ml of product which was a little bit hard to squeeze out if I'm being honest. It does smell fragranced when you are applying it onto your face which may bother some people but it wasn't an issue for me because the scent goes away rather quickly. The cream feels velvety to the touch and blends into the skin wonderfully.

Clarins uses the organic leaf of life extract which is a powerful natural hydration activator which mainly helps boost the skin's hyaluronic acid production. It will in turn, help plump the skin and have it looking more radiant. There is also an Anti-Pollution Complex that helps protect the skin from the harmful effects of pollution from both indoors and outdoors. This complex can be found all throughout the Hydra-Essentiel line with the exception of the Bi-Phase Serum.

Price & Where To Buy
This retails for $46 for 50 ml of product in a jar and you can purchase it either at: The Hudson's Bay, on the Clarins website, at Sephora, at Shoppers Drug Mart's Beauty Boutique, etc.
Update: It now retails for $48-49.

My Thoughts & Should You Buy?
This product does not have SPF and I wish that it did. However, it is dermatologist tested, it is non-comedogenic, I did not breakout from using it and there was no leftover residue apparent on the skin. Even though I have oily skin and this product does not target oily skin types, I wasn't overly oily at the end of the day to my surprise. I feel like this would be best for people with normal skin though. It feels great and lightweight on the skin. I do think that since this product adds back moisture into your skin, this still could be used in the spring and summer months because most people (including myself,) like a much heavier cream in the winter time.

If you are sensitive to scents then don't purchase this product because there is a scent to it. Also, the full size comes in a jar and some people think that it is unsanitary but I prefer it because it is easier to use up every last drop of product. It is an added bonus that it looks great on your vanity counter!

Project 10 Pan - Round 3 | 2016

Hey everyone! Here is Round 3 of Project 10 Pan that I promised you a few blog posts back!

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny
This was a repurchase and I have used this product for years. It is my go-to drugstore bronzer that can do no wrong in my eyes! When I am very tanned, I tend to use this as a face powder.

ELF Makeup Mist & Set
This is a holy grail item of mine and I have numerous back-ups. I will continue to use this as long as ELF continues to make it!

Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream with SPF 25 in 00 Fair
It claims to revitalize and protects the skin. It also evens out the skin tone. This was a decent product but it is very light. I have fair skin but this was even too light for me. I like that it has an SPF because it protects my skin just as it claims to do. The coverage is build-able and if I am in a rush some days, I layer it on my face and just add a little bit of concealer.

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in 030 Medium
I found this to be fairly light for a medium powder to be honest. I am comparing it to other shades from different brands of course. I did really like how soft and blendable this powder was however, what I did not like was the packaging. It is very bulky, not ideal to travel with and the white packaging got very dirty rather quickly.

Sonia Kashuk Brightening Powder
I used this to bake with and it was very inexpensive but, I felt like I went through this entire jar in no time at all.

YSL Volume Effet Mascara in Baby Doll
I really liked this mascara and the brush was fantastic! It coated each and every lash! It was great at layering each coat and was easy to get in the inner corners as well as to coat the bottom lashes. The packaging is gold and luxurious.

Rimmel Super Curler 24 Hour Mascara
This particular product claims to be for volume and to also curl your lashes. I would say that it does not last 24 hours and I still had to curl my lashes before use. The wand is thick and chunky which I didn’t like. I have small eyes and this wasn’t ideal for me. This mascara reminds me of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara only difference is that I like that one much better and the wand isn’t nearly as large. I would not repurchase this mascara.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick
This is a repurchase of mine and it is by far my favourite lip balm. I am sad to be out of it and will pick-up another one once I am in The USA.

ELF Matte Lip Color in Praline
This has been my every day lip colour and I have gotten so many compliments on it! Some even said that it reminded them of the signature Kylie Jenner lip colour. The only negative thing I can say is that mine broke on me and I obviously continued to use it. I just had to apply it awkwardly so that the stick would not fall out completely. One more thing that I just thought of it that it is hard to find in stores. I have had no luck in-stores in Canada and The USA. Your best bet is to order it online.

Mac Lip Liner in Stripdown
I have been pairing this with Praline and it has been my go-to lip combo! As you can tell from the photo, the pencil is very small and I have used it up entirely!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.
