Warehouse Sale/Outlet Shopping Collective Haul

Hey everyone! Today I will be showing you all the different items that I picked up over the last few days. There are many warehouse sales/promotions going on and it's an exciting time of the year for many of us!

Before I start off with my actual haul, I just want to mention that I did attend the BCBG featuring Lole Warehouse Sale. I want to say that it was VERY disappointing. The dresses I found to be tacky, the dress pants were still too expensive because I factored the price of hemming onto the $40 they were being sold for because they are far too long to wear as is and I left without buying anything.

There is a limit of 10 items per person that you can take into the fitting room and you can't bring a stroller inside the change rooms. Also, as I was walking up to the entrance, I noticed that there were garbage bins and poles as well as chains to help formulate a line I suppose. Other warehouse sales that I have attended at this venue, there have been coffee cups as thrown on the grass and pavement which looked quite disgusting to be honest.

Next I went to Orfus Road. I have been going here for years and there was a time where it wasn't too great and there weren't that great of a selection as far as stores are concerned. However, I feel as though it has gotten a lot better and they even put a Burger Priest at the corner of Dufferin and Orfus Road where the Demetres used to be. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Orfus Road, it is off Dufferin just minutes away from Yorkdale Mall in North York and not too far from the 401. There are many outlet stores on this road and people come here to shop. It gets very busy on the weekends so be forewarned!

The top above that I purchased is from a store called Ya Ya & Co. They have a few locations that come to mind: Orfus Road, Toronto Premium Outlets and Niagara Outlets. They have beautiful pieces and also offer shoes as well as accessories. There is a fitting room in this store and you are able to try on the items before you purchase them. I am saying this because not all stores on Orfus Road offer change rooms. You just pick what you want to buy and hopefully it fits. There are security guards in some of the stores and you can't try on items over your existing clothes inside the store either. I digress, anyway, the sales associates are very helpful and I will be returning here soon! The top that I purchased retails for $60 was being sold for $49.95 and I ended up purchasing it for only $15 saving a grand total of $45.

My next stop was Ardene. I come specifically to the Orfus Road location to purchase my nose rings in bulk. However, I couldn't even find one pack and the other piercings they had on sale were not ones I would buy. I need to find a new place unfortunately. It wasn't a wasted trip because I ended up buying 5 pairs of sunglasses for $10 which work out to be $2 each. Normally, each pair of shades retails for $8.50 and I ended up saving $32.50 in total. The four sunglasses to left remind me of similar styles that Quay Australia offers on their web site. I know that I do not need any sunglasses but these I couldn't pass up!

I had been wanting a nice Roots hoodie for as long as I could remember. I decided to take a look inside the store to try my luck. Honestly, when you enter the store, there are nice looking pieces at the front of the store which are the new arrivals. To find the good deals, you need to walk to the back of the store. If you are in a rush, I DO NOT recommend coming here unless you know EXACTLY what you want because if you quickly browse, a lot of the items will look the same to you. Also, there are fitting rooms which is a huge plus.

I ended up coming here on Thursday and Friday because I was in the area both days. On the Thursday, that is when I scored the gorgeous hoodie which is exactly my style: classic yet edgy at the same time. It was regularly $78, marked down on sale to $44.99 and I received an extra 25% off the sale sticker so it ended up costing me $33.75. Just alone on the sale price, I saved $11.25 and from the original price, I saved $44.25.

I came back again on Friday and right away, I noticed that they had changed their sale to save an extra 40% off selected sale items. I was glad that I had waited to buy the matching sweats! I have no idea how much the sweats retail for originally because that price has been cut off the tag but the sweatpants were marked down to $34.98 and I saved an extra 40% off. I ended up getting the pants for $20.99 and I saved $13.99 on the sale alone! If you think of it this way, for the hoodie and the pair of sweatpants, I paid less for both items than if I were to purchase the hoodie at regular retail value.

Lastly, I was invited to the L'Oreal Sale in North York around York University. You need an invitation to go and they used to send a paper invitation but now it is an email with a barcode that they scan. They scan it for you to three times: to enter the sale, at the cash register when you make a purchase and also before you leave the sale. There were some great deals and there were items that I can't find in stores anymore that I ended up finding here such as: The L'Oreal Oleotherapy Hair Mask, Shampoo and Conditioner.

I really didn't need any more nail polish but I must say that the Essie nail polish display was very tempting but I did refrain from purchasing anything on there! The only purchase that I made was the Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) mascara set which includes: a mini of the YSL CC Creme Colour Corrector in Apricot with an SPC of 35, The Top Secrets Pro Removers Eye Makeup Remover Bi-Phase + and a full size of The Baby Doll Mascara which is supposed to give a false lash effect to your lashes.

I know that it is hard to read above because there was a sticker on top of the price and someone had peeled it off. What is says is that the retail price of the set is $36 and the total value of the set is $56. I ended up picking up the set for $21.75 and saving $34.25. I looked on Sephora and the mascara is full sized that I received, which retails for $36 on their web site. What I really wanted to purchase was the YSL Touche Eclat in number 2 but little did I know, you had to purchase the entire set to get this specific product - you could not purchase it individually.

Parking does get crazy and there are employees that help you find a parking spot. If that is full, there is an overflow parking area. It is free to park which is a plus. It is a bit tricky to get to so I recommend planning it out in advance or using a GPS to get here. I would suggest going on a week day opposed to a week end if you are able to. I remember coming here years ago and having a stand in line to get in. This is probably one of my favourite warehouse sales to attend and I would recommend it if you can get an invite. I must also mention on the invite that you are limited to two visits and you can bring one friend. However, the both of you combined can only purchase up to a certain amount and are limited to certain quantities of various products. I will say that it is very well organized and I don't mind traveling to come here.

Overall, it was a successful few days of shopping for the most part and I finally have a Roots hoodie which I am excited to start wearing!

As always, thanks so much for reading my blog post and more posts will be coming your way soon!

Until next time,

STAY CLASSY.

Adidas/Reebok Warehouse Sale 2015 - My Finds

Hey everyone! Today, I went to the Adidas/Reebok Sale that was held at The International Centre. Today was the first day of the sale and it is going on for 3 days ending on Sunday, September 13th.

Purchased:
- 3 pairs of shoes $35/a piece
- 1 pair of black & white striped Adidas track pants $25
- 1 crew neck pullover sweater $30
- 1 blue and white striped long sweater (they called it a dress) $20

The shoes were by far my best purchase. I bought 1 pair of Reebok shoes (the black high tops,) for work and the other two pairs were extremely comfortable that I couldn't resist! Two pairs of the Pump shoes worked out to be $70 which is half of the cost of what one pair goes for at original retail value! I was pleasantly surprised and I ended up spending much more money that I anticipated. This is the best warehouse sale that I have attended in quite some time! However, I noticed that a lot of the smaller sizes were quick to be purchased by shoppers and unless they are getting another shipment in, there may be slim pickings as far as sizes are concerned if you decide to visit the sale over the weekend.

Advice: If you do decide to attend the sale, make sure that you have lots of patience because I waited in the checkout line for 1 hour as it did wrap around the perimeter of the warehouse.

STAY CLASSY.

Thanks for stopping by,

The Nordstrom Summer Warehouse Sale - My Experience

Hey everyone! I went to the Nordstrom Warehouse on the first day that it was open to the public which was on Thursday, August 20th. For those of you who aren't familiar with what I'm talking about, I'll get you up to speed. It is held this year at The International Centre in Mississauga at Hall 6. It is a four day sale and it is an opportunity for shoppers to save up to 80% of retail prices.

Let me start off by saying that this is the second Nordstrom Warehouse sale to my knowledge. I wasn't able to attend the first one so this is going to be like a first impression of the sale itself with some (many) references to the GUESS Warehouse Sale.

To get right to the point: I was under whelmed. I say this because I had seen a lot of the same items repeatedly throughout the different racks and many of the items were pulled or stained/damaged. I understand that this is a warehouse sale but I please understand that I DID NOT have high hopes going in. I only went on the first day because they were offering people who were subscribed to their email list 10% off their entire purchase for the first day of the sale only. I wanted to take advantage of that and also, my schedule is busy throughout the next four days that the sale is happening on so that doesn't leave me with a lot of extra time to make it to the sale and browse/shop. Also, there were less designer name brands than what I had imagined they would originally carry.

What I ended up purchasing were two sweaters that were $20 a piece. I had to go through the racks to compare multiple of the same cream sweater because some were very pulled. I ended up purchasing mine in a size larger than I normally take because the size small was too pulled for my liking.

The second item was an ox blood sweater has a gorgeous colour to it that is perfect for the fall and I especially like the cowl neck. I wish it was a little bit longer in the back but beggars can't be choosers!

I noticed right away that people in line had less items in their bags opposed to the GUESS Warehouse Sale where they have bags upon bags of merchandise to purchase. I didn't check out the Men's clothes so I cannot speak to that. The Kid's clothes were very reasonable and I noticed that you can get some clothing items for $10. Also, there were multiple tables with shoes but I really couldn't be bothered to go through them. There were accessories in another part of the warehouse but I didn't see anything that caught my eye so I didn't venture too far out there.

What was different about this warehouse sale from the last GUESS Warehouse Sale that I attended were the fitting rooms. This time, you line up according to your gender and a representative counts the number of garments that you wish to try on, gives you a number and then you are free to go inside the fitting rooms. The limit is 10 items per person to take into the change rooms. It was a lot less crowded inside the fitting rooms this time around and I noticed that there were even less mirrors. When you are done trying on your items, you give the number back and place the clothes you do not wish to purchase on a table.

Another difference is that instead of being able to walk in and automatically grab a large plastic bag to put your items in, there were small red totes that really couldn't hold many items and were branded with Style Democracy over them.

Before I let you go, I thought that I would attach a picture of the price list for anyone who is curious about attending the sale. It is still going on and the last day is tomorrow! The hours for today and tomorrow 10AM - 6PM. There is LOTS of parking and no shortage of it in my opinion. The best part is that it's free!

If you are in the area, check it out and hopefully you will have better luck that I did with my big purchase of two sweaters!

STAY CLASSY.

Thanks for stopping by!

GUESS/MARCIANO WAREHOUSE SALE 2015 + 6 HELPFUL TIPS WHEN SHOPPING WAREHOUSE SALE EVENTS

Hey everyone! Today I'll be showing you what I purchased at the Guess/Marciano Warehouse Sale. I focused on tops  rather than bottoms or any other accessories just because I went before work and had only a short time to spend at the sale. It was easier to try on tops and I'm not in need of any bottoms or shoes at the moment.

The warehouse sale before this one was insane on the first day and there were so many people! The checkout line extended out so far into the hall that I really couldn't shop with numerous people in the building. I ended up leaving and not even really taking time to look around. This time around, I made sure to go a few days after the first day of the sale and I found lots of unexpected items!

Tanks/Halter Tops - $10

Silvian Heach - XS - NO PRICE ON TAG

GUESS - XS - $69.50 (Original Price)

GUESS - XS - $49.50 (Original Price)
Purple Top is By GUESS - XS - NO PRICE & Top on Right is GUESS By Marciano - XS - $88 (Original Price)

Sweater - $25 & Long Sleeved Tops - $15
Sweater is By GUESS - S - $79 (Original Price) & Grey Top is By SH Italia - XS - NO PRICE

Tips:
1. Just a heads up for anyone who HASN'T been to these kinds of warehouse sales before - YES there are change rooms (separate for men and women,) but it is an open space where you try on clothing items in front of other women. There are NO individual change rooms and there are only a few narrow full-length mirrors that you share with other women. If you don't feel comfortable taking off your clothes then I recommend that you wear a light tank top or leggings so that you can put the clothes you want to try-on on OVERTOP of your existing clothes.

2. Also, make sure to take a clear bag as seen above in the first picture, directly after you enter the hall. It makes life a lot easier when shopping!

3. Another thing: there is no picking and choosing items you want to purchase while at cash so please make your decisions beforehand. This not only holds up the line, but it is very inconsiderate of the cashiers time because they could have been helping someone else cash out instead of waiting on YOU making a last minute decision. There are many signs around the hall telling you what I just mentioned to you.

4. What I ALWAYS do when I attend these events is to BRING A BOTTLE OF WATER! Usually there are a lot of people, there is a large space that requires walking and trying on clothes. This can leave you parched and I always take water with me to avoid dehydration.

5. Wear comfortable shoes! I can't stress this enough. You will be on your feet and walking quite a bit so heels are not your best bet for this kind of event. More likely than not, you will want to take time to browse the different items and you will NOT be in and out in a flash so make sure that you take great fitting shoes with you!

6. Before exiting the hall, you need to show the security guard your bill. He or she checks out what you purchased, will write something on your bill and then let you leave. Sometimes they will ask you to open up your purse if it is larger so be prepared to comply.

I have been going to these warehouse sales for a few years now and I pretty much know how to navigate my way around which saves me time.

Thanks for stopping by!

STAY CLASSY.
