Hey everyone! Let's go through all the products I used up in July!

Face

Freeman Facial Anti-Stress Mask (150 ml) - This mask can be on the messy side as it is a wash-off clay mask. It claims to purify and clear pores. It is priced fairly but I will say that this tube took me forever to get through.

Medi Heal | Line Friends N.M.F Aquaring Ampoule Mask (27 ml) - This felt very nice on my skin and my skin felt very plump after using it. This is hands down one of the best sheet masks that I have ever used. It claims to deliver intensive hydration, it’s firming, oil-controlling and brightening. All skin types can use this mask and it’s from South Korea. The little characters are on the side of the mask and it’s super cute!

Equate Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes (40 count) - These were super affordable and I purchased them at Wal-Mart. These did the job and didn’t break on me. I would repurchase them but the top part where the makeup wipe comes out of, fell off.

GLAMGLOW POWER CLEANSE Daily Dual Cleanser - This is a discontinued product and t really did such a great job at removing my makeup. One side is mud and the other side is oil. The mud side ran out before the oil side did. The silver did flake off everywhere which is a con.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water (100 ml) - This was great to use and I used it as a toner to remove any leftover traces of makeup that my cleanser didn’t get. I would definitely repurchase this!

SF Glow Sun’s Out, Pouts Out Gold Foil Lip Mask (8 ml) - This is the fourth one that I’ve used and I’m definitely a fan. I like to use them when my lips are really dry and flaking. It’s also a very cute design.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Cream (15 ml) - This is the second jar that I’ve gone through and I like the consistency of it. It claims to smooth, brighten and depuff the under eyes. 

Body

Up & Up Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 (10.4 fl oz/307.5 ml) - I bought this in a two-pack on clearance awhile back and I did enjoy this sunscreen. I made sure to reapply it many times throughout the day to avoid getting burned by the sun. It felt a little greasy at first but that goes away and it absorbs into the skin well. 

Nails

Equate 100% Acetone Nail Polish Remover (295 ml) - This did the job and it’s very inexpensive. This bottle lasted me quite a long time.

Hair

Joico Hair Shake (50 ml) - This is a liquid to powder texturizing finisher and I just wasn’t a fan. It made my hair look dry and it stopped pumping after awhile even though there was a lot of product still in the bottle. 

Face - Promo/Samples

Origins Retexturing Mask with Rose Clay (15 ml) - I’m definitely a fan of this mask and it made my skin so soft. This is a wash-off mask and I would definitely purchase a larger size in the future.

Body

SNP Beauty Cafferonic Body Wash - I have used a few other their other products and the scent is very consistent throughout the line! There was a good amount of foam and my skin felt didn’t feel dry after using it. This claims to be good for ild cleansing.

SNP Beauty Cafferonic Body Lotion - I really enjoyed the formula and my skin drank it up! It is not too thin or a consistency and not too thick. It also smells amazing and my skin was so soft after using it. This claims to be for deep moisturizing. 

SNP Beauty Cafferonic Shampoo - I have the full sized bottle and this smells incredible! It also lathers very well and makes my hair feel clean but not stripped.

Makeup

NARS Blush in Orgasm - This has such a cult following and has been around for many years. It has a nice shimmer to it and it’s a peachy pink colour. This looks great on the skin.

June Empties | 2021

 Hey everyone! I finished up 15 products last month so let's take a look at each one!

Face

Kate Somerville EradiKate (30 ml) - This is definitely one of the best acne treatments that I have ever used. It can be drying on the skin but it shrinks the pimple over night. This is a holy grail of mine and I plan on repurchasing it. 

Lips

SF Glow Sun’s Out, Pouts Out Gold Lip Foil Lip Mask (1) - This is the third lip mask I’ve used from the brand and it’s definitely a fun mask to wear. it is infused with Cica as well as Honeysuckle Flower Extract. It does a great job at moisturizing my lips and makes them super soft!

Vitamins/Supplements

Nature’s Bounty B-12 2500 mcg (120 Micro Tablets) - I have been taking these for a few years now and definitely think that it helps with my energy levels. I prefer to take the ones with a higher dosage but these worked too.

Nails

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Colour in #420 Pacific Blue (11.8 ml) - I really enjoy painting my nails with this shade during the warmer months. The blue really pops and it also looks fab on the toes when you have a tan!

MAC Overlacquer Finition (10 ml) - This is a discontinued nail polish that I used as a top coat. It worked well and I liked the brush that it came with. 

Samples/Promo - Face

Too Faced Hangover Good In Bed Hydrating Serum - This was mediocre in my opinion and I’ve tried better serums over the years. It can feel a bit sticky on the skin.

Too Faced Born This Way Matte 24 Hour Foundation in Porcelain - I really liked the formula of this foundation and made my face look flawless. However, this was not a good match for me. I would agree with the claim that it’s super long wearing because I had it on all day and it still look good at the end of the day.

AMOREPACIFIC Vintage Single Extract Essence (5 ml) - I was not a fan of this product because I didn’t feel like it was doing anything for my skin. This is an anti-aging essence that contains only 6 ingredients including fermented green tea. It is not sticky on the skin and really doesn’t have a scent. It is overpriced and I wouldn’t purchase a large size of this. 

La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum (10 ml) - I enjoyed the scent of this and it was a bit tacky on the skin which I did not mind. It did a great job at moisturizing the skin and I would definitely purchase the full sized version.

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Eye Sleeping Mask (1.5 ml) - This contains encapsulated retinol and coffee berry. It claims to be brightening and firming. This is meant to be used alone and not in conjunction with another eye cream. This is definitely a thick product and this little sample gave me a ton of uses! This was just alright and I’m not completely sold on it just yet.

It Cosmetics Hello Results Wrinkle Reducing Daily Retinol Serum-In-Cream (1.5 ml) - The colour is a bright yellow that took me by surprise. It feels great on the skin and is very moisturizing. A little goes a long way and my skin definitely felt smoother. I would definitely think about purchasing this in a larger size. Key ingredients include: Dual Retinol, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3,) Vitamin E and Vitamin B5.

It Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Moisturizer - This felt nice and very hydrating on the skin. I enjoyed using it at night and because it’s a cream, it’s thicker in consistency. There’s hyaluronic acid in the formula which is one of my favourite ingredients. 

Perfume 

Lancôme Idôle L’Intense Eau De Parfum (1.2 ml) - I didn’t think that I would like this scent when I just sniffed it from the bottle but it really works with my body chemistry! It’s described as a flamboyant floral heart made with sustainably sourced Isparta rose petals and madagascan bourbon vanilla. 

Hair

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask (30 ml) - The scent reminded me of when you stay at a hotel and use their toiletries. My hair felt very soft and was easier to manage after it was dried. I like that my hand didn’t feel super sticky after applying it to my hair which is pet peeve of mine.

Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo (30 ml) - This was interesting to use in the shower and it was a minty scent to it. I thought that the product was going to be more gritty than it actually was. My scalp felt cleaner after using it but I wouldn’t say that this is a must-have item.

May Empties | 2021

Hey everyone! Let's go through all the products I finished up last month!

Face

SF Glow Sun’s Out, Pouts Out Gold Lip Foil Mask (1) - I’ve used this in the past and I really like how moisturizing it is. It’s a fun mask to wear and it is infused with Cica as well as Honeysuckle Flower Extract.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream (50 ml) - This is a great moisturizing cream for all skin types. There is a light scent to it and it layers well under makeup. I have used this cream many times in the past and can’t say enough good things about it!

Body

Equate Women’s Triple Blade Disposable Razors (4 razors) - These are my go-to razors and I have been using them for years. They are sold at Wal Mart and they have gone up slightly in price. I use one a month and they are very inexpensive!

Promo/Samples - Skincare

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (1.5 ml) - I have used this in the past and this is such a nice serum! There is a nice scent to it and my skin feels so soft after using it! I was just on Sephora’s website and they sold out the largest size. They only have a few left of the 30 ml size and it’s safe to say that this is a popular product!

Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Exfoliating Powder Cleanser (7 g) - I really enjoyed using this as it was gentle on the skin and it made my skin super soft! It comes as a powder and you mix it with water. I haven’t used a product from this brand that I haven’t liked.

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum (8 ml) - This felt great on the skin and I had been wanting to try out this brand for awhile. My skin felt hydrated and nourished. This is a k-beauty brand and it is definitely on the more expensive side.

Masks

The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask (5 ml) - This was nice to use at night and it almost had a tingling feeling to it. There were little exfoliating beads and I enjoyed the shade of green! My skin felt soft and fresh after washing it off. I kept it on for 10 minutes.

The Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask (5 ml) - The consistency was almost like a jelly and this was less strong than the cream. It felt nice on the skin and I left it on for 10 minutes. My skin definitely felt smooth and clean afterwards. I personally preferred the other mask but this one was nice to use and apparently you can also use this to remove makeup.

GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment (0.24 oz/7 g) - This was great to use on my oily skin and my acne. It was cool to see the colours change from wet to dry. It was also fascinating to see all the little holes on the mask to see it pulling out oil and impurities. This mask was definitely made for my specific skin type! I really enjoyed using it except for the fact that there was small pieces of debris in the mask that would not disintegrate with water.

KIT Nourishing Mud Face Mask in Chocolate (15 ml) - I got this at an event and this face mask lasted me 3 uses. It dries quickly and it smells like dark chocolate! I’m not a fan of the packaging as it can get quite messy. It’s paraben free and hypoallergenic. This mask is sold at Rexall for $1.99 but I couldn’t find a link online.

Hands

Body & Earth Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (30 ml) - This was a nice hand cream to use and I enjoyed the cherry blossom scent. It made my hands soft and did not irritate my psoriasis. 

Grown Alchemist Hand Cream in Vanilla Orange Peel (3 ml) - This smelled like an orange creamsicle and it moisturized my hands very well! My hands were so soft and the scent lingered which I loved! The formula is not greasy and I would definitely consider purchasing the full size version in the future! 

Body

Nivea Care Intensive Nourishment Non-Greasy Cream (400 ml) - This is my second tub and it makes my skin super soft! It smells great and it definitely absorbs quickly into the skin. I used this all over my body and it lasted me quite a long time!

Mugler Angel Nova Eau de Parfum (1.2 ml) - This is a fruity, floral, woody scent and one spray of this will go a long way! The key notes include: raspberry, super-natural rose and akigalawood. I didn’t think I liked this at first but the more I wore it, the more I liked it.

Teeth

Hello Goodbye Plaque, Hello Whitening in Natural Peppermint (98 ml) - This is a fluoride free toothpaste that has a nice minty taste. I liked the packaging and how it was able to stand upright on the counter top. It is on the more expensive side and I don’t know if I would purchase it on my own.

March Empties | 2021

Hey everyone! It's time for my March Empties!

Face 

Garnier Skinactive Balancing Facial Mist (130 ml) - This product was just alright in my opinion. It is good for people with combination or oily skin. 99% of the ingredients are naturally derived and it is vegan. There are no: parabens, dyes, silicones, animal derived ingredients or by-products. There was a light scent to it and it felt refreshing on the skin. 

Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser (200 ml) - This was just alright and I used it in the morning to cleanse my face. It claims to penetrate pores and that it gently exfoliates the skin. I like that it has a pump and it claims that it is great for combo skin. I believe this is discontinued.

Body/Feet

Voesh Pedi In A Box in Pumpkin Spice (4 Steps) - I actually got this in my FabFitFun box and was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to use each step and my feet felt so soft afterwards! It definitely smelled like Pumpkin Spice and I really want to start soaking my feet as I found it very relaxing! 

Seed Crew Company African Black Soap (150 g) - I purchased this on Amazon and I have to say that I immediately noticed how moisturizing it is in the shower. This is 100% natural and it is handmade. There are no fragrances, preservatives and it is chemical free. It contains vitamins A & E. This claims to be good for people who have: dry skin, rashes, acne and blemishes. I used this all over my body in the shower and I tried it once as a shampoo. I will say that it turns the water a light brown but that doesn’t bother me. I enjoyed using it and I have never used a soap that moisturizing on my skin! This comes from Ghana and it is packaged in Canada. 

Hands

Yves Rocher Midnight Berries Hand Cream (30 ml) - This definitely has a fruity scent that reminds me of a herbal tea I’ve had before. This is a limited edition Christmas scent and I went through this quickly because my hands are so dry from constantly using hand sanitizer. The formula is nice but the scent is not my favourite.

Teeth

Lavish Essentials Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder (50 g) - I bought this online at Amazon and I can’t seem to find a link. I will say that this product is very messy to use as it is a loose charcoal powder. I didn’t smell any coconut and this is 100% organic. This is a natural teeth whitener which I agree with. This jar lasted me months and I would not repurchase it because it stained the skin and it’s too messy for my liking.

Vitamins/ Supplements 

Nature’s Bounty Ultra Strength B-12 (5000 mcg) - I have repurchased this exact kind a few times and really enjoy it. I take mine in the morning and it gives me energy throughout the day. 

Samples/Promo - Face

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa (15 ml) - This claims to be a replenishing and radiance enhancing cream gel which I do agree with. There is a scent to it which I enjoyed and I also liked the texture. It made my skin soft and it wasn’t heavy on my skin.

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Skin Booster (15 ml) - This claims to repair, fortify and hydrate the skin. The formula includes 89% Volcanic Mineral Water and hyaluronic acid. This goes on after your toner but before your serum and moisturizer. I apply it to my face and neck. It may feel a bit tacky at first but I really do enjoy using it.

Vichy Nomaderm Phytosolution Anti-Acne Purifying Cleansing Gel (200 ml) - This was really a huge help in reducing my acne. I used it once or twice a day, and I really seen a difference in my skin after using this for a few weeks. It contains 0.5% Salicylic Acid and it’s oil-free. It is non-drying and paraben-free.

BKIND Konjac Green Tea Facial Sponge - This is a gentle exfoliating tool that is made from the konjac root. It is gentle on the skin and you can use this with a cleanser to help remove makeup. I made sure to use circular motions and my skin felt so soft after using it. I also read online that it can be composted and that it is biodegradable which is awesome! Just make sure to replace it every 2-3 months or after 100 uses because it can harbour bacteria.

Body

C.O. Bigelow Body Lotion in Rosemary Mint (5 ml) - I liked how fast this absorbed into the skin and if you like mint, you’ll like this lotion. I found it to be lightweight and it made my skin soft. I got this in a travel kit on one of my flights.

Whish Bath & Body Gel in Pomegranate (60 ml) - When you squeeze the tube, a fun pink colour comes out. I like how it lathered and foamed up in the shower. It smelled nice and made my skin soft! I got this as part of a set and I did enjoy using this product.

Fragrance

NEST Cocoa Woods Eau De Parfum (3 ml) - I got this as a free sample from Sephora and unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that it has been discontinued. This is definitely a woodsy, spicy fragrance that is unisex. I actually really enjoyed the scent and got numerous compliments on it. 

Degree Men 24H Deodorant in Arctic Edge (85 g) - I wanted to try Men’s deodorant to see what the hype was about and I was disappointed. It didn’t last more than 4 hours on me before I had to reapply and I am not a smelly person. The scent wasn’t my favourite and I disagree with the claims.

January Empties | 2021

Hey everyone! This is my first empties post of 2021! Let's go through my trash together!

Face

The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel (15 ml) - This had a cooling effect to it and it was a gel consistency. It was nice to use at night and it absorbed quickly into the skin. It’s fragrance free. This isn’t my favourite product however and I wouldn’t repurchase. It isn’t bad but I prefer a cream formula. 

Victoria Secret Pink Wakey Eyes Pink Hydrogel Eye Mask - I can’t seem to find this on their website anymore but this was a nice hydrogel eye mask to use. It didn’t slip around on my face and it was a nice pink colour. I left mine on for 15 minutes and then tapped in the excess serum.

Bath & Body Works

Scentportable in Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (6 ml) - I found this in my back-stock and I wanted to put it to use while we are still in the colder months. This has been a repurchase for years and it’s a great scent overall. 

Body Cream in Warm Coconut Blossom (226 g/8 oz) - This is a discontinued scent and this is an Ultra Shea Body Cream. The notes include: Island Orchid, Coconut Water and Sandalwood Musk. It claims to provide 24 hours of nourishing moisture. It is infused with ultra-rich, moisturizing Shea Butter and is enriched with both Aloe Butter as well as Cocoa Butter. It is non-greasy and it really did a great job at hydrating my skin!

Hair

Nioxin Cleanser Shampoo System 1 (1 L) - I got this because in the past, I’ve purchased this directly from my Dermatologist to help with psoriasis in my scalp. The formula is blue and it has a minty scent to it. I wouldn’t say that it helps the problem but it helps to remove the build-up from my scalp and it is soothing. This bottle lasted me a very long time.

Vitamins/Supplements

Nature’s Bounty Ultra Strength B-12 5000 mcg (45 tablets) - This is my second bottle of this exact dosage and it’s really been working for me. I do feel like I have more energy throughout the day and it’s easy to take these. I purchase mine from Amazon.

Samples/Promo - Face

LANEIGE Bright Renew Capsule Sleeping Mask (3 ml x 3) - This is a one time use sleeping mask from LANEIGE. It claims to be hydrating and brightening. I found there to be a strong scent and that there was a lot of product. I used one capsule over the course of a few days. The packaging reminds me of how contact lenses come packaged! I believe that this is discontinued. 

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Melt-in Cream SPF 50 (15 ml) - I got this as a free sample at an event and I really liked this product! If you apply too much, there is a white residue but if you apply just the right amount, it melts into the skin. I appreciate that this has an SPF of 50 as my Dermatologist said I should use at least that on my face. This helps with those strong UV rays and I apply sunscreen on my face year round! This only pills if you use too much of it or with too many other products on your skin.

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet in Royal Jelly (23 ml) - It claims that Royal Jelly extracts provide nourishment and improve skin texture. After washing my face and applying an essence, I applied the mask, leaving it on for 20 minutes. My skin felt soft and I have to say that there was quite a bit of essence. Overall, I did enjoy using it.

Body

Dove Body Wash in Mango Butter & Almond Butter (53 ml) - I got this sent to me as a free sample to try out. I honestly loved the scent and the consistency. It made my skin so soft and smooth. It smelled like a mango smoothie to me and I felt like I was transported to a tropical island! This is a product that I would absolutely purchase the larger size of after I go through my current back-ups.

Giorgio Armani My Way Eau De Parfum (1.2 ml) - This floral fragrance claims to be a blend of consciously sourced ingredients from around the world. The Orange Blossom is from Egypt, the Tuberose & Jasmine are from India and the Vanilla is from Madagascar. This is not a perfume that I would have chose out on my own but it works with my body chemistry. Not sure if I would purchase a bigger size of this.

Body

Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Shea Butter Soap (227 g) - This is made with Coconut Milk and Acacia Senegal. It claims to help soften and restore the skin. There are exfoliating beads in the soap and I found there to be a subtle, pleasant scent. This is a big bar of soap that should last me quite some time! I got this from a friend.

Sol De Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream (25 ml) - This was part of my birthday gift from Sephora last year and although this one was nice, I much prefer the original scent. This delivers hydration for your skin that makes it feel soft. This is an oil-in-water cream.
