Silicone Makeup Brush Cleaning Mat Review

Hey everyone! I want to find a cheaper alternative to the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Mats which retail for $32 USD and $25 USD. I stumbled across this Silicone Makeup Brush Cleaning Mat on Amazon because I was tired of using my hands to clean dozens of makeup brushes. It reminded me of the scene in Dennis The Menace when he was in the bathtub and said, "I'm a prune!" because he was in the water for so long that his hands shrivelled up resembling a prune!

Design & Price
You can clean both eye and face brushes using this one mat. You wash, rinse and refine your brushes on this one mat. I like the purple colour and you can easily suction this to your sink because there are 7 suction cups to help keep your mat in place. It won't be going anywhere and there is a different pattern for each section on the mat. I paid $5.50 CAD for this mat which is a pretty big price difference from the ones by Sigma. 

How It Worked

The design on the mat is very clever and the area that you wash your brushes is further away from the tap which makes perfect sense. You rinse your brushes closer to where the water comes out through the spout and your refine to the left of the sink. The silicone rubber cups worked great and the mat did not slip or slide at all. I don't know why I wasn't using this sooner and washing my eye and face brushes were both equally as effective. You you have a very dirty foundation brush, it may take 2 washes instead of 1 but this mat does a lot of the work for you. I got my brush wet first and then applied some liquid cleanser onto the mat and started cleaning away!
