March Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! Since we are under quarantine, I thought that I would get this post up a few days early so you guys have something to read while staying inside!

Face

Elizabeth Grant Essence of Torricelumn (50 ml) - I have a bone to pick with Elizabeth Grant products. I feel that she markets them very well, has excellent promotions but I never see any difference in my skin after using up the entire product! If you go online to her website and the TSC website, all the reviews on this product are on average 4-5 stars. This was such a lacklustre product that I don’t trust the reviews. I have no interest in her products anymore and the ‘G’ logo as well as her name on the front of the bottle completely rubbed off.

Fourth Ray Beauty Later Hater Spot Treatment (30 ml) - I have finally used this up and it took me quite some time to. I really enjoyed this product and it did do a great job at drying up my pimples. I did have to add this onto my breakouts a few nights in a row to make sure they really went away. Also, make sure not to add too much product because it will just crumble off and you will find it in your bed sheets as well as on your clothes. This is a similar concept to the one by Mario Badescu. I had the old packaging.

Miniso Marvel Kawaii Nose Mask Spider Man (8 count) - I walked into my local Wal Mart only to find out that every single nose strip was out of stock including the Equate brand. I then realized that there was now a Miniso store towards the back of the store which I had never seen in that Wal Mart before! I walked in and I managed to find them for a great price which was way cheaper than Bioré so I bought 3 packs for $13 which was such a great deal! There is a Spider Man design on the nose strip which is really cool but Bioré pore strips are more effective. These work great in a pinch and I didn’t want to go to another location so these worked out well for the time being.

Hands

Sephora Almond Hand Balm (30 ml) - I ordered this online from one of their limited edition sets and really enjoyed using this hand cream in the winter! It barely took up any space in my purse and it is very hydrating on the hands. The formula is thin but still very moisturizing and absorbs into the skin quickly. It also says on the packaging that ‘almond is recognized for its nourishing and softening properties’ which I 100% agree with regarding this hand cream. I definitely would repurchase this in the past as it is price friendly, didn’t irritate my psoriasis on my hands and I even fit this in my pockets so I wouldn’t be without this product at work!

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte (259 ml) - This was great to use in Fall and I’m currently using up my back stock before I purchase more soap. The notes include: creamy pumpkin, toasted marshmallow and warm praline. 

Bath & Body Works

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Harvest Gathering (259 ml) - This is a nice scent especially for Fall and it reminds me of apple cider. The notes include: fresh picked apples, autumn berries and clove buds.

Coffee

Café Favorito Tradicional Café Torrado E Moído (250 g) - I bought this coffee at a supermarket when I was in Brazil. This coffee is rather mild compared to other strong coffees that I’ve had before. It tastes great if you like something a bit more mild and it has a smooth taste.

Promo/Samples - Face

La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Fluid Lotion (3 ml x 3) - I got this for free at an event and the consistency is very watery. It absorbs fast into the skin and it doesn’t feel greasy. You just have to make sure that you aren’t squeezing a lot out because if it gets between your fingers, it can get very messy as the consistency is very thin. It’s a lightweight product that layers well under makeup.

Saturday Skin Rub-A-Dub Refining Peel Gel (5 ml) - I honestly didn’t have high expectations for this product and had this sample from Sephora in my collection for awhile. I regret not trying it sooner because my skin felt baby soft after using it! You wash your face, massage the product to your dry skin for 1 minute and then wash off with water. My face wasn’t red, it was a gentle exfoliation with tiny granules in the formula and there wasn’t a strong scent. This reminded me of the Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel. I definitely will look into purchasing this once I finish other items in my skincare back stock!

Fragrance/Car Scents

Tom Ford Métallique Eau De Parfum (1.5 ml) - One thing I found about this fragrance is that it doesn’t have very good lasting power even when I spray it three times in the morning. When the afternoon comes around, you can’t even smell it anymore. This is really just a vanilla scent and it is classified as a floral scent for some reason. 100 ml of this fragrance is $260 which I would never think of purchasing. This was such a flop and was truly a disappointment.

Valentino Donna Eau De Parfum (1.2 ml) - The scent type of this fragrance is warm florals and includes notes of: blackcurrant, jasmine grandiflorum and bourbon vanilla. The lasting power on this is so much better than the Tom Ford scent and it lingers throughout the day.

Scentsy Scent Circle Hulk - Nine Realms - I got this for free in Toronto as someone handed me one and I finally got around to using it in my car. It smells very clean like fresh lemon with an underlying musky, deeper scent that I can’t pinpoint. I really enjoy it though and it’s perfect for Spring!

Coffee

Ethical Bean Coffee Lush Medium Dark Roast (60 g) - I got this free as a sample in the mail to try-out and give my thoughts on. I had never heard of this brand before and I like the fact that it’s 100% fair-trade certified coffee.

February Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! February was the shortest month of the year but I still managed to finish 15 products! Let's see what I finished and my thoughts on each item.

Face

Fourth Ray Super Fruit Facial Oil (0.50 fl oz/14.80 ml) - I honestly really enjoyed using this facial oil and I’m sad that it’s all gone! It made my skin smooth and it really helped to moisturize my skin this winter! I read in the reviews that people thought this was really small and it is but it lasted me longer than I thought it would. The only negative I can think of is that the packaging broke at the top which wasn’t a huge deal because I still managed to close it. You can’t beat the price and I definitely would repurchase this again!

Update: I no longer see this exact facial oil on their website.

Equate Quilted Pads (125 count) - I purchase mine at Walmart and they are super inexpensive. I have debated trying the reusable ones but always end up repurchasing the single use ones.

Bath & Body Works

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Mahogany Teakwood (259 ml) - I have purchased this scent in the past and I love how masculine it is. It is warm and woodsy. The notes include rich mahogany, black teakwood and dark oak.

Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte Deep Cleansing Hand Soap (236 ml) - The notes include: creamy pumpkin, toasted marshmallow and warm praline. This was such a great scent to use in the colder months and the packaging looked great on the countertop! 

Car Fragrance Refill in Leaves (6 ml) - I have gone through many of these in the past and I enjoy using it in both fall as well as winter in my car. I always receive a ton of compliments. 

Vitamins/Beverages

Emergen-C Immune + Super Orange Flavoured Fizzy Drink Mix (24 packets) - This contains 1,000 mcg of vitamin C and each packet contains a ton of electrolytes. I normally add this to my water during the colder months when I am more likely to get sick. I have recommended this countless times to friends and I also like to take this with me when I travel. I highly recommend this product and Walmart usually has this on special 2 for $20.

Matte Leão Chá Mate Com Limão (25 count) - I purchased this in Brazil at a grocery store and really liked it! I usually ended up frothing some almond milk and adding it to my tea. The lime flavour wasn’t too overpowering and I’m sad to be out of it.

Promo/Samples - Face

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster (1.5 ml) - This is supposed to be used as the first step of your skincare routine after you cleanse your skin and it contains hyaluronic acid. I used this at night before I went to bed and it felt nice on the skin but I would have to test it out longer to see actual results on my skin.

Biotherm Life Plankton Elixir (1 ml x 2) - This is meant to be the first step of your skincare routine after you cleanse your skin. I used this mainly at night and for some reason, the scent reminds me of a product that you purchase at a tanning salon. When it was on, I could still smell the product on me skin but I didn’t mind it. I did enjoy using it but this is a very expensive product that I probably wouldn’t commit to getting the full size of. Sephora sells the larger size for $94 online where you get 50 ml of product. 

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask (3 g) - I have heard so many people speak about this particular mask and I used it as an overnight mask at night. I have heard that you can also use it as a hydrating primer but I didn’t use it for that. It did make my skin soft but I heard lots of complaints about the full size packaging. This is a pretty good product but I’m honestly on the fence if I would purchase a larger size of this. The standard size is $63 for 64 grams at Sephora.

KIT Anti-Aging Mask with Green Tea (12 ml) - I actually couldn’t find a link anywhere online so I don’t know if this is discontinued or only sold in stores. I got it for free at an event a few months back. This claims to help refresh your skin and to overall improve the appearance of your skin. This just felt like I was applying a thick cream to my face, massaging it for 1 minute then rinsing it off after 5 minutes like the directions said to. It felt weird to do that and I even left the package open for several weeks then decided to use this mask up as it lasted me several uses. I would use it again as it was just such a weird consistency on my face but my skin did feel soft and smooth after using it.

Body

Ralph Lauren Beyond Romance (1.2 ml) - I got this as a free sample in the mail and really enjoyed it! I did have to spray it 4 times to get some lasting power throughout the day. It was such a great blend of floral, sweet and fruity. It wasn’t overpowering and it’s a great every day scent. There are notes of fresh rose centifolia, sensual raspberry coulis and luscious black vanilla. I really enjoyed using it and didn’t expect to like it as much as I did!

Whish Shave Cream in Pomegranate (60 ml) - I got this as part of a gift from a friend and I actually took this with me when I went on vacation. This worked just like a regular shaving cream would and it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. It didn’t smell like pomegranate to me and I wouldn’t purchase a larger version. My skin did feel moisturized after using it and I do like the fact that they use naturally sourced, organic ingredients.

Hair

Ikoo Infusions Thermal Treatment Wrap Hydrate & Shine Mask (35 g) - I got this for free in my bag when I went to the ChickAdvisor event last year and just got around to trying it now. There is camellia oil, macadamia oil and honey extracts. You get on single use mask inside the packaging and you want to rinse then towel dry your hair before you put the hair mask on. The mask is plastic and adjustable when you move the sticker to fit the shape of your head. The mask formula is inside the wrap part and you are advised to massage your head when the mask is on probably to distribute the formula throughout your hair. It suggests you leave it on for 15-25 minutes and I left mine on for the full 25 because the winter has dried out my hair. I do fell like the packaging is very wasteful but my hair was incredibly soft after using it!

January Empties | 2020

Hey everyone! I hope everyone's 2020 is off to a great start! Let's go through everything that I used up last month.

Face

Fourth Ray Fresh AF Mist (122.75 ml) - I really enjoyed using this mist as it sprayed fairly evenly and it smells great! The ingredients include: white lily, rose water, cucumber water and Tibetan ginseng. It was great to use in the Fall and Winter as this works best for dehydrated skin. It offers a ton of hydration and I liked the packaging.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens (100 sheets) - I kept these in my purse and they lasted me a very long time. I have very oily skin and these are a must for me! I typically blot my face with these when went in with a translucent powder to help mattify my face. The packaging is super slim and fit in all my bags. I am already on my next pack of these as I already had a back-up in my collection. 

Equate Charcoal Strips (8 strips) - Oddly enough, I couldn’t find these online but I wanted to try out their brand to see how it compares to the popular Bioré pore strips. I find them to be very comparable and I did like using them. I would definitely repurchase them in the future and they are also cheaper.

Bath & Body Works

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Pumpkin Cupcake (259 ml) - I clearly have really been loving this scent this month! I also love the marble top which I plan on saving and using on other Bath & Body Works soaps.

Car Fragrance Refill in Pumpkin Cupcake (6 ml) - This smells so great in the car and it on the sweeter side. I got numerous compliments when people entered my car.

Body

Equate Triple Blade Disposable Razors (4 razors) - These are my go-to razors that I purchase at Wal Mart for $5. I use each one for about a month before I toss them. I like the moisture strip and it says there is a lavender scented handle but I can’t smell it. 

Beverages

Trader Joe’s Spiced Chai (20 tea bags) - I have tried many chai teas and this is my favourite one that comes in a bag. It is described as a rich, robust blend of Assam black tea and exotic spices. I also really like the packaging that it comes in as it is vibrant and it is printed on 100% recycled paperboard. I warmed up some milked, frothed it and then added into my chai tea that I enjoyed drinking at night. I highly recommend this and would repurchase it in a heartbeat.

Promo/Samples - Face

Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser (29 ml) - I got this from a friend as part of a gift and this is meant for people with oily skin types like myself. I am a fan of Bioré and as I write this, I currently have one of their nose strips on. I enjoyed using this as my morning face wash as well in conjunction at night with the Philosophy Purity Cleanser. My face felt squeaky clean without feeling stripped of my natural oils.  

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser (30 ml) - I actually got this in the mail as a free sample. I have used this product in the past and I would say that it is really worth the hype. I always hear people raving about it and for good reason! It does an excellent job at removing your makeup and it is a gentle cleanser for your skin.  

Dr. Belmeur Advanced Cica Recovery Cream (50 ml) - This is a thicker cream that I like to use during fall and winter. They use a natural fragrance which is a soft citrus floral scent. This really does a great job at moisturizing the skin and it comes with a spatula. It comes in a twist-off jar which I really like because you can really get every last bit out. The first ingredient is water which is always a good thing and you can find it at The Face Shop. I would definitely purchase this cream in the future and I’m sad to be out of it. 

Body

Beauty & Planet Coconut & Ylang Ylang Tropical Hydration Body Wash (473 ml) - I received this at the Chick Advisor that I attended. This was a really great smelling product and wasn’t too thin of a body wash. It really helped to hydrate my skin and the message this brand has is incredible. They have quite an extensive line of products that are available at Wal Mart.

Nivea Cherry Blossom & Jojoba Oil Infused Lotion (500 ml) - I really liked the scent of this lotion and it is a thinner consistency but it really does a great job at hydrating the skin without irritating my psoriasis. It definitely is fast-absorbing and it didn’t feel greasy on the skin. I like the fact that it came with a pump and I would definitely purchase it on my own. It is available at Wal Mart and it comes in different scents.

Fragrance

My Burberry Black Perfume (2 ml) - I received this as a free sample from a Mall Promotion in Toronto. The notes include: peach nectar, candied rose, sun-drenched jasmine and amber patchouli. This is more of a sexy scent with floral notes that aren’t too overpowering like some other perfumes. I wore this every day and was hooked on the scent! I have to say that the scent isn’t very long-lasting on the skin though which is a downfall and I would spray anywhere from 2-3 sprays on my skin in the morning. I still really like this scent though! 

MAC Lady Danger (1.5 ml) - This scent has unfortunately been discontinued but I really do enjoy wearing it. It is more of a warm, leathery and spicy scent. You can smell the warm amber and patchouli which I really love.

Vitamins/Supplements

Quick Strip Fast Acting Vitamin B12 (5 strips) - I featured these in maybe two other empties posts and this is finally the last of the strips. These are just alright in my honest opinion and one thing I don’t like is how much waste the packaging has.

October Empties | 2019

Hey everyone! It's hard to believe that next month is Christmas and I wanted to share with you all the empties that I used up last month!

Face

Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips (8 count) - They have changed the packaging and I also noticed that these do not go on sale as often as they used to. The charcoal is great for my oily skin and these are one of my must-haves.

Origins Cleansing Makeup Removing Jelly (15 ml) - I really did not care for this product at all because I felt that it didn’t do a good enough job at removing my makeup. You need to use a lot of product and I tried using it on both wet as well as dry skin. It really didn’t remove the makeup well enough from my skin and I used this as the first cleanser just so I could use up this tube. I would never consider using this as my only cleanser to remove makeup because when I tried that, there was an incredible amount of leftover makeup on my wipe! I would never recommend this to anyone or purchase the full size as this came in a trio from Sephora.

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYCLEANSE Daily Hydrating Cleanser (30 g) - I purchased this at the Estée Lauder Warehouse Sale | 2016 a few years back and I honestly couldn’t find a working link to this cleanser so I believe it is discontinued. This is a mud to foam cleanser that has a pump which I really liked. This helped break down makeup on my face so well and I really enjoyed using it. I traveled with this and I’m honestly sad that I can no longer purchase it as this was my second (and final,) bottle in my collection.

Update: This has been discontinued. 

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Sage & Orange Blossom (118 ml) - I was trying to find this online and could online find it on the Mario Badescu website. I originally purchased this in-store at Ulta but couldn’t find it on their site or online at Sephora. This was nice to use but it isn’t my favourite scent by Mario Badescu. It performed well and it just comes down to personal preference. 

Body

Mistral Luxury Bar Soap in Lychee Rose (7 oz) - I actually picked this up when Anthropologie was having 20% off their entire store. I feel in love with this scent and I am a big fan of their soaps. They are packaged beautifully and they do not test on animals. It is made in France and it retails for $8 in both Canada as well as the USA.

Equate Women’s Triple Blade Disposable Razors (4 count) - These are my go-to razors that I purchase from Wal Mart that retail for $4 which breaks down to $1 per razor. They have a moisture strip which I really like and they give me a close shave. I have just opened up my back-up pack of these!

Gilette Satin Care Passsionista Fruit Shave Gel (198 g) - This smelled great but it’s hard to know how much leftover is at the bottom of the can because there’s no way of opening it up. This is honestly just a good cheap option for shave gel and it isn’t one of my favourites. I have the old packaging.

Hair

Taya Amazon White Clay Advanced Thickening Blend Conditioner (250 ml) - I purchased this from The Shopping Channel Warehouse Sale for $5 and it retails for $26 online. This formula includes cacao oil and it did make my hair feel smooth. My only complaint is the packaging as the product is far too thick to get out of the tiny opening so you are left with no option other than to unscrew the entire cap which is a pain to do in the shower. This made my hair look shiny and the scent was nice.

Teeth

Up & Up Elegant White Whitening Strips (14 treatments) - I purchased this from Target in the clearance section for $17.14. I’m on the hunt for a good dupe because I tried the Equate brand from Wal Mart and hated them. This claims to have a slip-free technology and that it has a comfortable fit. It was indeed super comfortable to wear and I would say that they are a great cheaper alternative to the Crest White Strips. I definitely would purchase them again in the future and I do regret not stocking up when they were on sale.

Bath & Body Works

Car Fragrance Refill in Autumn (6 ml) - I purchased this last year for under $2 at the Semi-Annual Sale. This is honestly the perfect Fall scent and I got so many compliments when people came into my car.

 Promo/Samples - Face

Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub (50 ml) - I received this free to test out and I honestly really enjoyed it way more than I thought I was going to! They use bamboo and ground walnut shells to help exfoliate the face. The aloe vera, rose hip and chamomile soothe the skin. It claims to be good for all skin types and that it is both sulphate as well as paraben free. I found it to be gentle on the skin and the ground walnut shell pieces did not irritate my skin. It smelled nice and the fragrance wasn’t too strong. I would consider purchasing this on my own!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 (88 ml) - I received this in the mail to test out and honestly, this is probably my favourite sunscreen that I have ever tried on my face. It is a gel consistency, it feels lightweight and it doesn’t smell like sunscreen. It mixed well with my moisturizer and it wasn’t great on the skin. I love that hyaluronic acid is one of the ingredients in the formula and it didn’t feel like this was clogging my pores. This has a high SPF which is another plus! 

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer (7.5 ml) - This felt very lightweight on the face and my face felt very moisturized. This claims to be for all skin types and it did not cause me to breakout. I wouldn’t say that this is the best moisturizer of all time but I enjoyed using up this sample. I redeemed this at Sephora for my 100 point perk. 

Body

Avon Live Out Loud (0.8 ml) - I received this as a free sample and I was surprised actually at how much I liked it. The notes include: wild strawberry, mimosa and fluffy vanilla. This is a great every day scent and it is on the lighter side. The downside it that the lasting power on this throughout the day is not good. It fades away rather quickly. 

Food/Snacks

Sugarfina Champagne Bears Cube (3.9 oz) - These were given to me as part of a gift and these bears are made with Dom Pérignon Champagne and taste great! These were very enjoyable to have as a snack and you really can’t taste the alcohol in them.

October Empties | 2018

Hey everyone! I just want to let you know that I was travelling for half the month of October and because I was going to different cities as well as flying to different countries, I had to throw out multiple items. That's why this post doesn't have as many items but I still packed some items to fly back with me in my suitcase so I could do this post!

Face

Masque Bar Charcoal Sheet Mask (21 ml/0.71 US fl oz) - The actual sheet mask itself was a charcoal bamboo fibre one but the essence was clear. It helps to absorb impurities and excess oil (which I tend to have a lot of.) It claims to nourish dry skin to reveal a more radiant appearance. This was just a standard face mask in my opinion and didn’t do anything out of the ordinary for my skin. It contains: charcoal powder and camellia japonica flower extract. You are supposed to leave this on for 15-20 minutes. Water is the first ingredient and fragrance is the last. It is made in South Korea.

Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask (18 g) - I have purchased this in the past and liked it so much that when I was back in Target, I picked up another one! This is an excellent way to relax and unwind at night. You can choose to put the eye flaps up over your eyelids or leave them down. I already have an entire dedicated review on this mask that you can check out. 

Disney Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask (18 ml) - I purchased several of these on clearance while I was at Target in Buffalo and although I wanted to like this sheet mask, it just didn’t do it for me. The mask itself was awkward as I have a small face in general, and it fit me really odd being that it was small for my face which is bizarre. I found the mask to be uncomfortable to wear and I couldn’t wait to take it off. It did nothing for my skin and I’m glad that I got it for 50% off because it isn’t worth even that in my opinion. This is discontinued. 

The Original Beauty Blender - This is such a classic item in anyone’s makeup collection. My sponge has lasted quite a long time and there are many rips in it. It’s now time to say goodbye and I just reordered another one from the 20% off sale that is currently happening at Sephora until the 12th of November!

Bath & Body Works

Car Fragrance Refill in Leaves (6 ml) - This is one of my favourite Fall scents from Lush and last month, I featured this in my September Empties | 2018 post. 

Vanilla and Avocado Gentle Foaming Hand Soap (259 ml) - I was initially drawn to the packaging of this hand soap and the scent is just alright in my opinion. I really can’t smell the avocado and I smell just a hint of the vanilla bean. This has avocado oil in the formula and I would not repurchase this particular scent.

Gentle Foaming Hand Soap in Vanilla Patchouli (259 ml) - This smells great as it is not too strong and it is formulated with natural essential oils. This is part of their aromatherapy line and there are many other products in different forms which they carry! 

Promo/Samples - Face

Neutrogena All-In-One Make-Up Removing Cleansing Wipes (7 wipes) - These are great to travel with especially if you are doing a weekend trip or if you are only gone for 7 days. These get off makeup quite well and are very affordable!

BIG October Empties | 2017

Hey everyone! It's time for another round of empties and I am proud of myself this month for using up so many items. Let's check out all the products that I went through and my opinion on each one!

Face/Lips

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap (Mild) (30 ml) - I purchased this at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale and after using it, I don’t care for the scent nor the product itself. It didn’t do much for my skin and there are drugstore cleansers that definitely outperform this one for a fraction of the price.

Estee Lauder NightWear Plus Anti-Oxidant Night Detox Creme (5 ml) - I also purchased this at the sale and I actually really enjoyed this product! It felt luxurious, nourishing and I loved the scent of it! I felt that it made my skin more plump and I would use it again without hesitation!

Elizabeth Grant Caviar Nutruriche with Torricelumn Day & Night Eye Cream (2 x 18 ml) - I have been using this product for many months now and neither side really had any impact under my eyes. I don’t really see the point in having both a day cream as well as a night cream for the eye area and to be frankly honest with you, sometimes I would end up using the wrong side! I honestly think it was a marketing strategy and I didn’t care for this product. I think this has been discontinued. 

Neutrogena All-in-One Make-up Removing Cleansing Wipes (25 wipes) - This are a cult favourite and a staple in many people’s bathroom. These are great to use and they have not failed me yet!

Masks

GLAMGLOW FLASHMUD Brightening Treatment (50 ml) - This is by far my favourite mask by GLAMGLOW. This definitely brightens my complexion and I love that it also exfoliates my skin! I purchased mine at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale for $31.60 but it retails for $77 on the SDM website.

Fruits & Passion Pomegranate Face Mask - This had the least amount of essence out of all the masks that I have tried from this brand. It had an usual scent to it but it didn’t smell bad. My skin has been rather dry from traveling and I have been trying to get it back to normal. So far I can say that the sheet masks from Fruits & Passion haven’t been my favourite and I strongly believe that there are better ones on the market from other brands.

Fruits & Passion Lemon Face Mask - I like to use a sheet mask at least once a week on my face and again, this one was not my favourite. I’m not sure what it is about their sheet masks but they smell strange and aren’t ones that I have to have. This one is meant for brightening the complexion and it is also the last one that I have in the pack thank goodness.

Innisfree It’s Real Squeeze Mask in Lime - This sheet mask definitely smelled of lime and had a very pleasant scent to it. I was originally drawn to it for my love of lime! This mask fit my face very well and I used it right after I used my Derma Roller. This mask was definitely soaked in a lot of essence but I actually prefer that because there was enough to put on my neck and on my chest as well. This was actually the most comfortable sheet mask that I have ever worn! I picked these up from a store at Pacific Mall. Overall, I was very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to try more sheet masks from this brand in the future!

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet in Rose - I really enjoyed using this sheet mask and it fit my face well. It also smelled just like fresh roses which I loved and I ended up spraying some of my rose water on my face after removing the mask which was a great added touch. I also want to mention that my face felt very plump after the fact. This is an overall great sheet mask and I really loved the packaging as well as I actually ended up displaying it on my vanity before using it!

May Island Real Essence Mask Pack with Fresh Collagen Extract - This sheet mask uses 100% cotton and collagen helps with the elasticity of the skin as well and brings back moisture into the skin. I am drawn to any product that has collagen and the purple packaging also caught my eye. This does have quite a a lot of essence and I brought it all the way down my chest as well as down the back of my neck. It did a great job at adding moisture back into my face and it helped with my dehydrated skin.

The Face Shop Lip Mask - This was my first time ever using a lip mask from any brand and this one is a hydrogel one. This mask is definitely made for those with smaller lips and the bottom piece just fit my bottom lip. I honestly feel like I wouldn’t repurchase this because my lips don’t get super chapped all the time and there isn’t anything that my lip balm can’t fix. It retails for $4 on The Face Shop website.

Update: I couldn't find it online anymore and I don't think it is sold in Canada any more.

Body

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Shower Gel (250 ml) - This is a very nice, clean scent and it isn’t overpowering. I feel like it is definitely a unisex scent and it is refreshing. I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase it!

St.Ives Apricot Scrub (300 ml) - I only like this formula in the jar and not in the tube form. It is more gritty in the tub and you definitely get more product. I have honestly been using this since high school and I especially like to use it every time before I self-tan. This is by far my favourite drugstore body scrub and the best part is that it is very affordable! They use 100% natural exfoliants, it is sulfate-free and paraben-free.

Dove Advanced Care Go Fresh Cool Essentials (45 g) - I absolutely love this deodorant and it is currently my holy grail. The scent is very clean and fresh. It lasts me all day and I can’t be without it! I currently am using my new deodorant stick and have a back-up of that.

Bath & Body Works

Deep Cleansing Hand Soap in Maui Mango Mai Tai (236 ml) - This soap contains coconut oil and the scent is described as having notes of: mango nectar, sun-kissed grapefruit as well as sugar cane. My hands felt nourished and because it has coconut oil inside, they never got dried out. My bottle is also the old style and they have a new design on the bottle with a parrot.

Creamy Luxe Hand Soap in Springtime in Paris (236 ml) - This scent smelled just like a box of fresh clementines that you can purchase at the grocery store! The notes include: citrus zest, peach blossom and peony petals. Although it wasn’t amongst my favourites, it was still very pleasant to use and the packaging was nice to display in the bathroom.

Nourishing Hand Soap with Pumpkin Butter in White Pumpkin Peppercorn (236 ml) - This is exactly like the name says: nourishing. The packaging is very sleek and looked great on the bathroom counter. This is a great fall scent and I would definitely repurchase it again!

Hands

Origins Hand Lotion in Lime & Geranium (30 ml) - I purchased this at the Estee Lauder Warehouse Sale | 2016 and it came in a trio. This scent definitely isn’t my favourite and neither is the formula. Is it not a thick consistency and I’m certain that the fragrance in the formula is drying out my hands. I cannot find a direct link for this product unfortunately. 

Update: I'm pretty sure this scent has been discontinued. 

Hair

Selsun Blue Anti-Dandruff Shampoo (300 ml) - It is no surprise that I do suffer from a dry scalp especially with the temperature change. There are 6 added moisturizers and conditioners inside. It claims to give your healthier looking hair and scalp which I agree with. This is a must for me in the colder months when we are transitioning between seasons and I only use this on my scalp.

Teeth

Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous White Fluoride Toothpaste in Vibrant Mint (120 ml) - I really enjoyed using this toothpaste during the day and I especially loved the minty flavour!

Vitamins/Supplements

Equate Extra Strength Caffeine Tablets (50 pills) - I bought the cheaper brand because the name brand was significantly more expensive. Now, I’m not sure if I am immune to caffeine at this point of if these tablets just didn’t have any impact on me for whatever reason. I cannot recommend them because they did not effect me at all and I would not repurchase them due to the bad taste of the pills.

Miscellaneous

Equate Baby Shampoo (592 ml) - This is just a cheaper alternative to the Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and the Equate brand is sold at Walmart. I found it to be just as effective and I have already repurchased this.

Promo/Samples - Face

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (10 ml) - This was a sample that came with my online order from Shoppers Drug Mart. It is definitely an extra step in my skincare routine both in the AM as well as in the PM. I originally didn’t think that it did anything out of the ordinary to my skin but with constant use for just over a week, I can definitely see the difference! My skin is more radiant, it is more bouncy and it looks healthy! This is a pretty penny but I believe that it is worth the money to buy the larger size! My only regret is letting it sit in my drawer for so long before actually testing it out!

Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil (2.5 ml) - I love Palmer’s and have gone through 2-3 of their swivel sticks in the past. This cleansing oil was pretty good and you could definitely smell the rosehip fragrance in it. There is also: grapeseed, jojoba, reship oils and vitamin c inside. If I do use it in the future, I will have to double cleanse because there was more makeup coming off on the wipe than I would like for it to. Overall, my face felt: smooth, soft, clean and it wasn’t dried out or oily. This was a sample included in the Chatelaine magazine.

Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil (2.5 ml) - I really loved the reship fragrance and this was a great oil to use at night! This is for the face but I also applied it: down my neck, on my chest, on my arms and some on my legs. This is supposed to improve the appearance of: fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, uneven skin tone and aging skin. There is retinol, vitamin c and cetesomate-e complex. It is dermatologist tested and I would use it again in a heartbeat!

Teeth

Smile Brilliant Teeth Whitening Gel & Desensitizing Gel - This is what I have been using to whiten my teeth with for many months now and I recommend it to everyone. You start off by making impressions of your teeth, your custom trays are then sent to you and you can start whitening your teeth! I have got numerous compliments on how white my teeth are and this is what I tell people that I am using.

Snacks/Food

Nature Valley Biscuits with Cocoa Almond Butter (38 g) - These are absolutely delicious and there are only 190 calories! There are 0 trans fats and the taste is amazing honestly! I received this as a sample at a trade show that I was working and I plan to purchase these myself in the future!
